World War II Veteran, Royal Canadian Air Force
A wonderful man who lived life to the fullest with devotion and determination to make a difference in the many lives that he touched. Stanley MALOUF passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the Toronto General Hospital in his 94th year, with his family by his side. Loving husband of the late Eileen. Cherished father of Michael, David and the late Margaret. Beloved father-in-law of Shizuko, Cecilia and Gianni. Adored Grandpa of Stanley, Jacqui, Ommael, Matt and Stella. Great-grandpa of Kenna, Georgia and Sammy. During World War 2, he was awarded an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his overseas services with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an aeronautical engineer. Postwar, Stan enjoyed a long and successful life as a consulting geologist in several areas of Quebec, Ontario and throughout the world where he was a well known and highly respected geologist in the mining industry. He was a teacher, a visionary, a developer and creator of communal wealth and prosperity. He will be sorely missed. Family and Friends may visit Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere Ave., east of Jane subway, on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, February 16, at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow. MURCHISON, Rev. Canon Morris D.
After a brief illness, Rev. Canon Morris D. MURCHISON, 73 years, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, Ontario, with his loving family by his side. Devoted and loving husband of Nancy (MALPASS,) formerly of London, Ontario. Dear father of Joan of Sarnia, and David and his wife April of Newcastle, Ontario. Always remembered and cherished by his grandchildren Stephanie and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents Arthur Russell MURCHISON (1963,) and Mathilda (JOHNSON,) (1985,) formerly of Windsor, Ontario, and his brother Roger Arthur MURCHISON (1981) and sister-in-law Laura "Edna" (2003), formerly of Amherstburg, Ontario. Survived by his brother-in-law William MALPASS and wife Jean, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and by several nieces and nephews. Morris graduated from the University of Western Ontario and Huron College, London, Ontario. As a theological student he served in the Dioceses of Huron and Keewatin, and after graduation was accepted by the Diocese of Ottawa. He faithfully served the Anglican parishes of All Saints Sandy Hill, Ottawa, and as Rector of Saint Peter's, Ingleside, with Christ Church, Newington, and All Saints, Crysler. He was Rural Dean of Stormont Deanery. He held an Interim placement at Saint Anne's and St. Andrew's, Bermuda. He returned to the Anglican Diocese of Huron as Rector of St. Matthew's, London, and Holy Trinity, London. He was Chaplain to the Lay Reader's and Chairman of the Third Age Committee of the Diocese. He retired as Rector of Saint_James the Apostle, Sarnia, after 22 years. During this time he was made a Canon of Saint Paul's Cathedral, London. He was appointed to the Mayor's Honour List for his volunteer ministry of services implemented at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia. Morris enjoyed travelling with his family and was a yearly guest for 16 years at St. George's Cathedral, Jerusalem. A private family service has taken place and cremation followed. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Stewart Funeral Home, 254 George Street, Sarnia. A public funeral service will take place at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 718 Cathcart Boulevard, Sarnia, on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 11: 00 a.m. with The Right Reverend Bruce H.W. HOWE and The Right Reverend Robert F. BENNETT, Bishops of Huron, concelebrating the Holy Eucharist, assisted by the Reverend Grace Coleman ANTHONY, of Saint Paul's Anglican Church, Point Edward, and the Reverend Rachael PARKER of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Sarnia. Visitation with the family will take place before and after the service, and a reception will follow in the church hall. BOYD, Richard Norman, M.D., F.R.C.S.

It is with overwhelming grief that the family of Doctor Richard BOYD announces his death at age 63 on Saturday, March 29, 2008 after a heart attack and a stroke. Rick took his last breath held lovingly by his family and close Friends Doctor Frank DEMARCO and Doctor Tom ELSDON. Rick deeply loved, and was loved by, his wife of nearly 40 years, Jane (JOHNSTON,) and cherished his sons David Richard and Andrew Macartney. Rick adored his beautiful 'daughters' Kristen (SKINNER) and Lindsay (GRAY/GREY.) He was predeceased by his loving parents Doctor Norman and Barbara BOYD, and father-in-law Robert 'Mac' JOHNSTON. He will be profoundly missed by his mother-in-law Olive JOHNSTON. Left to mourn are his sisters Judy MANNING, Mary HOPKINS (Ed DAVEY) and Heather MUNRO (Bob,) his aunt Dorothy SEARLE, brother and sister-in-laws Dick and Jane JOHNSTON, cousins, nieces and nephews, and a legion of Friends. He was predeceased by his loyal Bichon Frises, Bijoux and Beaumont. Doctor BOYD graduated from the University Of Western Ontario Medical School in 1968. He obtained his Specialist Fellowship in Urology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1976, and has since then practiced Urological Surgery in Windsor. He previously served as Chief of Surgery, and was currently head of Urology, at the Windsor Regional Hospital. He was one of the founders of the prostate cancer Bracytherapy programme at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre. In recent years he has also served the community as a Provincial Coroner for Essex County. Rick was a member of the Alpha Kappa Kappa medical fraternity. An athlete, Rick ran 27 marathons around the world with a personal best of 2: 48 in Chicago. He curled in the Ontario Medical Association bonspiels, and was an avid golfer and scholar of golf history. He was a member of the Donald Ross Society. He was currently the very proud President of Essex Golf and Country Club. Rick was a skilled clinician and diagnostician, and a gentle man who exhibited great kindness to his patients. He had twinkling blue eyes, a mischievous smile and a wonderfully wicked sense of humour. Rick's prize orchids are especially beautiful this spring. Our family thanks the medical community, both doctors and nurses, who supported Rick in area hospitals over the years, and especially Ruth Anne PIETTE and Staci LEMIEUX who loyally kept his office organized in spite of him. We thank the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospitals who so valiantly tried to save him: Doctor Rob WOODALL, Doctor Anthony GLANZ, Doctor Hash PATEL, Doctor Natalie MALUS and Doctor Balraj JHAWAR, who over five difficult days demonstrated extraordinary skill, as well as great compassion and love to our family. Thank you to Carol DERBYSHIRE and Steve BRENNAN from the Hospice of Windsor; Pat BEST, Paula DEEHAN- SCHMIDT and Chaplain Joyce JARDIN from Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital; Kim VAN ALLEN and Bishop Bob BENNETT from All Saints' Church; and our community for enveloping our family in love and prayers as we ran with Rick on his last marathon. Always one to put others first, and ever the healer, Rick has made four gifts of life. His two corneas will go to enhance sight, and, ironically the "perfect urologist kidneys" will give life and hope to two patients. In order to give back to our community which Rick so loved, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to organizations that were so a part of his life: Hospice of Windsor for care of men with prostate cancer; All Saints' Anglican Church; Windsor Regional Hospital for a Cystoscopy suite; Windsor Regional Cancer Centre for the Prostate Brachytherapy Program; and Essex Golf and Country Club for a croquet pitch and garden in his name. Visiting will be held at the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E. On Monday and Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at All Saints' Anglican Church, 330 City Hall Square on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Fondly remembered by her sister, Amy HALL of Guelph, and also remembered by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by John and Susan CHARUK and their family, and by Sonya MANNEROW, Suzanne (Trent), Michele (Paul), and Wendi (Tim.) Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Anna (MALUSKIE) MILLER, three brothers, John, Harold and Arthur, and seven sisters, Clara, Lillian, Florence, Ann, Ida, Myrtle and Mary. Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at Country Lane Nursing Home in Chatsworth on Sunday, June 29, 2008 in his 61st year. Gordon Duck MALUSKIE formerly of Desboro, dear brother of Wayne and his wife Shirley, son of the late George and Edna (MILLER) MALUSKIE. He is survived by his extended family Sue and Frank, Bill, Bob and Denna, Doug and Karen and their families. Step-father of David and Sandra. Duck will be fondly remembered by his good neighbours Inez and Ken KAUFMAN, as well by his breakfast club pals Don, Brian and Al of whom he loved to have a good game of cribbage with. He was a dedicated employee of Maluskie Farm Equipment for 35 years, played with the Desboro Merchants fastball, an avid broomball player and service as President of Desboro Community Club all for several years. Friends will be received at the Currie Funeral Home in Chatsworth on Wednesday afternoon and evening 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. for visitation thence to Saint Peter's Lutheran Church Sullivan (2 blocks south of Desboro) where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Pastor Sheilah FLETCH will officiate. SMITH, M.D., F.R.C.P. (Canada.) Loving mother of Douglas SMITH (Jane) of Sundridge, and Jillian SPILLETTE (Peter) of Victoria, British Columbia. Cherished grandmother of Thomas SMITH, Allen SPILLETTE (Kande) and Christopher SPILLETTE. Dear sister of Joseph MALYON (Jean) of Toronto.
