John went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the age of 92. Survived by his loving wife Edna of 67 years, daughters: Janice SCHESKE (Don) Springfield, Missouri, Jillian LYNN- LAWSON (John) Porcupine Hills, Alberta, daughter-in-law Virginia LYNN (Ken) Sylvan Lake, Alberta; six grandchildren: Regan LYNN (Tracy,) Rael LYNN (Leanne,) Renard LYNN (Mary Jo,) Darryn SCHESKE (Loree), Kimberley ROANE (Greg) and Erika CAWSTON (Jonathan;) 14 great-grandchildren; his sister: Dorothy HILSDEN (Al) Peterborough, Ontario. Sadly predeceased by son, Rev. Jesse LYNN in 1987. John and Edna invested their lives in ministry including over 40 years as missionaries to Africa. Died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Toronto of respiratory failure. The fourth of five children born April 24, 1913 to John and Mary Jane LAWSON. A beloved husband and father, farmer, a small business owner, a loyal Heinz employee and a snowbird for 19 years with his beloved late wife, Faith. Norman leaves behind him to mourn his children Russell LAWSON and Ruth LAWSON (Paul,) his grandchildren James LAWSON (Jolene) and Jacquie COUSINEAU (Dave,) his great-grandson Kaiden, his sister Jean McFADDEN, his sister-in-law Marjory SOMERS and his nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Mary-Ann LAWSON, brothers Perry LAWSON (Doreen), Russell LAWSON (Jean,) Olga DOLAN (Clive) and his brother-in-law Elgin McFADDEN. Norman lived life to the fullest, working hard in his younger and middle years, golfing, gardening and travelling in his later years. Though he was a quiet man, he played a prominent role in his church and in his family. His final 3 years were spent in a nursing home in Toronto where his patience and good humour never failed him. He enjoyed excursions through the park, identifying the trees, playing crokinole, visiting with his family and amusing the nurses with stories of the past and his beloved farm near Markdale. Friends may call at the May Funeral Home, 63 Main St. E., Markdale, on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m., where a funeral service will be held Thursday April 24th at 1: 30 p.m. Interment in Markdale Cemetery. Of London, missing since January 8, 2008 was found Saturday, March 15, 2008. Beloved son of the late William and Frances YATES of Point Edward, Ontario. Loved brother of Judy (Ken) LAWSON, Barb (Dave) YOUNG, Dawn (Joe) SEWELL, John (Suzanne) YATES, Cathy YATES and Jeff (Bev) YATES. Predeceased by his brother Stephen YATES (1996.) Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill was born on November 26, 1946 and grew up in Point Edward, Ontario where he attended Bridgeview Public School. Following Bridgeview he attended Northern Collegiate in Sarnia where he graduated with an honors certificate in 1965. He then moved to London and completed his teacher's training in 1966. He went on to complete a B.A. at the University of Western Ontario in 1980 as a part time student. Bill was an excellent elementary school teacher and taught in London at Woodland Heights, Wilton Grove, Aberdeen and Tweedsmuir Public Schools from 1966 to 1996, when he retired. Bill had many other interests but his passion was dogs and obedience training. He had a number of dogs over the years (Kelly, Pal, Guynan, Thorn) and most recently Scout who were as devoted to him as he was to them. Bill became interested in dogs and training soon after he arrived in London. He and Pal competed in Obedience trials beginning in the 1970's. Bill went on to become a member of the Canadian Kennel Club and became an obedience trial judge in 1986. The family would like to thank the many Friends, neighbours and former colleagues who have offered their prayers and concern during Bill's disappearance. The volunteers who searched for him, the police search as well as the fire and rescue, was much appreciated. Born at the family farm at Brodhagen on February 3rd, 1917 with Doctor A.V.H. MICHELL in attendance, she was the daughter of the late John W. BRODHAGEN and the former Carrie C. MEYER. On October 23, 1937, Frieda married Harold MOGK who predeceased her on July 19, 1978. Beloved mother of Nancy Elizabeth WEITZEL who predeceased her on May 3rd, 2006. Dear mother-in-law of Robert Jacob WEITZEL who predeceased her on September 14, 2007. She showered her grandchildren Jason Robert WEITZEL and wife Bonnie and Rebecca Elizabeth WEITZEL and great-grandchildren Brandon, Kesha and Darian with love and support. Passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 25th at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in her 61st year. Barbara, beloved partner of Ed LEAKEY and cherished mother of Heather and Louise, will be always be remembered by her precious granddaughters Brittany and Keziah, sons-in-law Peter HILSON and Harry BURGLER, as well as many Friends she considered to be family including Evelyn and Linda PARKER, Wendy FARNESS and Barb LEAKEY to name just a few. Surviving siblings include Betty, Reginald, Ross and Gloria, as well as siblings of her late husband James COX including Ron (Eve,) Irene (Norm) HENDRY, Ann (Bob) RAWN, Bill (Karen) and the late Barb (Earle) OSBURN. She was also predeceased by sisters Marg (Doug) JEFFRIES, Frieda, Doreen and brothers Albert and Bob. Throughout her life Barb showed incredible determination in overcoming adversity and always appreciated having her days brightened by family, Friends, former neighbours, Bendix co-workers and Laundry Factory customers. She choose to be grateful for what came her way rather than to complain about what didn't and, while receiving excellent care from Doctor QUIGG, Community Care Access Centre, hospice workers and nursing staff on the second floor of the G&M Hospital during her final months, was able to eloquently remind us all about what is truly important in life. May her spirit live on to help make the world a better place. She is predeceased by her lifelong love, husband of 61 years Everett and son Ken (Lu). Loving mother to Ronald (Brenda), Murray (Claire), Nancy (Jack), Lynn (Robert), Glen (Michelle), Brent (Vicky) and Rosanne (Rick). Her gentle nature, natural gift of story telling and love of reading and history will be particularly missed by her grandchildren: Tara, Shawn, Zoe, Tessa, Emma, Carrie-Anne, Alan, Alissa, Julia, Taylor, Kayla, Ashley, Emilie, Nicholas, Victoria and Andrew. Passed away in Victoria July 10, 2008 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Richmond Pavillion. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill and her son, Bill junior. Frances was born in Victoria to Dr. Hugh CLARKE and Reta CLARKE, attended Norfolk House School, was an accomplished pianist, and studied art and painting. She moved to Toronto and lived there for a number of years, then to Vancouver, and later Edmonton before recently returning to Victoria. Frances loved the outdoors and was always helping to ensure the well being of animals and birds. She had a ready wit and an infectious laugh. Our sincere thanks to Doctor Brian Winsby and the staff at the Richmond Pavillion for their care during her brief but brave battle with cancer. Cremation. Marion was a member of French's United Church, life member of the U.C.W., Sunday School Teacher, Hi C Leader, Explorer Leader and 4-H Homemaking Club Leader for 23 years. She loved quilting and making bears. Predeceased in 2003 by his wife Caroline and earlier this year by his sister Mary. He is survived by his children Gillian (Alan ILSLEY,) Ellen (Rob PEARCE), Carol (John LAWTON), Anne (Glen JOLLY), Barbara (Steve BUTLER) and John (Melanie BRIDGE.) He also leaves 7 grandchildren and his brother Joe MOTHERSILL. At Oliver's request, there will be no service.
