LANGDON,
Michael
W.
In loving memory of Michael W.
LANGDON, who left so suddenly
on April 3, 1991 at the age of 32 years.
He had a loving nature
And a heart as pure as gold
He always had a smiling face
And a story to be told.
A terrific sense of humour
And a twinkle in his blue eyes.
A helping hand in time of need,
On that you could rely.
Maybe we can't touch his hand
Or see his smiling face.
And maybe we can't hear his voice
Or feel a warm embrace,
But there is something we will
Always have tucked inside our heart
Our love for him, his love for us all,
Will never let us part.
Remembered always with love, Doris
LANGDON and family.

WILSON,
John▲▼
Elwin▲▼
John Elwin
WILSON passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, February 13,
2008 at the Shelburne Nursing Home. Elwin was born in Melancthon
Township on May 21, 1928. He was the second
son of George and
Florence (PALLISTER)
WILSON. He was predeceased by his two brothers
Mervyn and Everett. Elwin grew up on the family farm and got
his education at Maybourne School.
Elwin married June
(ACHESON)
WILSON on Wednesday, June 27, 1951,
the 33rd Wedding Anniversary of June's parents Stanley and Olive
(McMILLAN)
ACHESON.
Their marriage took place at Bethel United
Church.
Elwin began a career of trucking gravel in the cities of Brampton
and Toronto shortly after their marriage and continued that career
for 46 years until his retirement at the age of 71.
Elwin and June were the parents of Cathy
WILSON,
Nancy
(WILSON)
KEATING, Lisa
(WILSON)
LANGERAAP and Phillip
WILSON. Elwin is
predeceased by his daughters Cathy and Nancy, who both passed
away from Leukemia.
After raising their children in Dundalk, Elwin and June built
their home on property adjacent to the family farm where June
was raised on the West Backline. They resided there for fifteen
years, before moving into a new home in Dundalk in 2002. Elwin
had a great interest and involvement in the betterment of his
community. He was President of the Dundalk Service Club and when
his health failed and he was no longer as active as he would
like to have been, he was appointed the first Honorary Usher
for Dundalk United Church.
Elwin took great pride and interest in his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren and their great-grandchildren and their activities.
He loved to watch hockey games, figure skating, attend baptisms,
weddings and graduation ceremonies for his grandchildren. He
Will be very much missed by them.
Elwin's failing health forced him to spend numerous periods of
time in Markdale Hospital due to complications from diabetes
and hip surgery. It was troubling for his family to come to the
realization that his care should be specialized and Elwin became
a resident at Shelburne Nursing Home for the past three years.
The onset of Alzheimer's disease may have robbed him of his memory,
but it never took away his sense of humour. As aptly described
by his nephew Ted
ACHESON, "
His last few years were more like
living in a waiting room to eternity. All believers can take
comfort that he is now with his Lord and Saviour just as it has
been foretold."
A Celebration of Elwin's life was held on February 16, 2098 at
the McMillan and Jack Funeral Home, Dundalk. Dundalk United Church
minister; Rev. Janet Eriksen and organist Mary Nicholls participated
in the service. Nephew Ted
ACHESON gave the Eulogy and all of
Elwin's ten nephews were pallbearers. His nieces sang a beautiful
"Gaelic
Blessing" accompanied by his sister-in-law Doreen
(ACHESON)
PORTER.
Elwin's grandchildren were flowerbearers. Spring interment
will be in Bethel Cemetery.
