PAGE, Simone Alberta Marie Raymond
Born in Montreal on October 17, 1914. Passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 27, 2008 at the home of her daughter Judith KELLETT of Charlotte, North Carolina. Simone was an active member of Saint Mary's Parish and was involved in the Catholic Women's League, formerly Saint Mary's Sodality of Mary. She was also a member of the Canadian Legion (Branch 55). Simone had a marvelous singing voice and shared her favourite songs with family and Friends. She sang in the church choir for many years and was often the soloist at Masses on Sundays and Feast Days, as well as at marriages and funerals. Everyone who met Simone connected immediately with her joy for life and her generous spirit. Her humming of her favourite tunes and hymns was a sign of a truly contented and happy lady. Simone experienced life to the fullest and as a young girl often dreamt of visiting far-away places. Her hopes came true as she traveled extensively, notably during her mid-80's, to South America, around Cape Horn, to Egypt, Israel, Turkey and especially to Paris with her daughter. She added a room to her home so that she could enjoy her garden, feel the energizing warmth of the sun, and reflect on her life's experiences while in the shade of her cherished gingko tree, planted years ago for her by her husband. Her home was her refuge, an expression of her person and interests, open to all. Her husband, James E. (Jim) PAGE, who died in 1993, predeceased Simone. She will be remembered as the loving mother and lasting inspiration to her two children, James Page and his wife Darlene of Ottawa and Judith KELLETT and her husband Vincent of Charlotte, North Carolina. She particularly had touched and will influence the hearts and lives of her grandchildren, Nathan, Nicole, Noelle and Graham, as well as her great-grandchildren Zoe, Michelle, Alexandra, Pamela, Emily and Madeline Simone. She died in the bosom of her beloved family at peace with the world after a full and remarkable life. Friends may call at the Longworth Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, (519-539-0004) on Monday, June 30, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 6: 30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 904 Dundas Street, Woodstock on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment in the Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Contributions to the Victorian Order of Nurses Sakura House or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. Online condolences at www.longworthfuneralhome.com.
