We want to tell you something
So there won't be any doubt
You're so wonderful to think of
But so hard to live without

Margarita passed away on April 29th, 2008 after a five-year fight
against multiple myeloma. Margarita was born July 22, 1948 and
lived in Owen Sound; the longest and most satisfying time of
her shortened life. She is survived by her beloved husband William

Cassandra and her husband Kevin
IRWIN of Kitchener. She was the
proud grandmother of Ethan, Max and Ryan
IRWIN of Kitchener.
Also survived by her mother Marie
LIEKNINS of Owen Sound and
her brother Uldis and his wife Lynda and their children Ellen,
David and Christina. Margarita engaged life, full of passion
throughout her many endevours. As a graduate of Humber College,
her flare for colour in the fashion world was evident in the
twelve years that she owned and operated Wray's Ladies Wear.
Special thanks to the dedicated souls who run the Oncology Unit
in Owen Sound led by Doctor
QAWI and her wonderful support team.
The personal support and love demonstrated by Doctor
HUFF will never
be forgotten. There were many good times during Margarita's five-year
fight against cancer; all due to the efforts of the wonderful
health network in the Owen Sound area and the care and knowledge
of the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. We are
truly blessed. Margarita will be missed greatly by all who had

Geography teacher gave kids the world
By Daniela
SIMUNAC, Sun Media, Sun., January 27, 2008
Barry GORBOULD was the kind of high school geography teacher
whose lessons extended beyond the classroom and literally into
the far reaches of Europe.
On several overseas class trips, he exposed his students to foods,
languages and customs they wouldn't find in Woodstock.
He and his wife, Diana, also a geography teacher, would assign
students to ask local people simple questions using their limited
knowledge of the foreign language and they would praise the students
for getting answers.
That was just like
GORBOULD -- always trying to prove to students
they had it in them all along, his daughter, Alison
GORBOULD,
said from her home in Toronto.
"He always connected with the underdog," she said.
Born in 1942,
GORBOULD began teaching after he immigrated to
Canada in 1967 and he taught at three Woodstock high schools.
Prior to the move,
GORBOULD studied at the University of Bristol
in England, where he met his wife, and the couple spent a year
in Kenya surveying land.
However, it was teaching that meant the most to him.
An avid globetrotter,
GORBOULD and his wife took their children
to Europe nearly every summer.
At home, GORBOULD was a skilled builder who created canoes, doll
houses and nearly half the family's furniture.
When his son, Paul, once asked for a secret room,
GORBOULD sought
the original plans to the home and built a door to a crawl space
behind the boy's room.
"We believed he could build anything," Alison
GORBOULD said.
Suddenly in 1980,
GORBOULD began to suffer seizures. He learned
he had a brain tumour, but continued to teach and was open with
his students about his illness.
One of his students, who had epilepsy, later thanked him for
his honesty because he was embarrassed to admit that he, too,
had an illness.
GORBOULD died on December 19, at the age of 65. He is survived
by his wife, two children and two granddaughters.
He was remembered by one student as "brave" for taking his students
across the ocean.
"Many people never leave their hometown or home province," wrote
Janet (HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON)
HOEGG on a tribute website to
GORBOULD. "I
have not been without a passport since that trip."

William S.
SNOOK passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3,

SNOOK, and spent his formative years
in Halifax and the Musquodoboit Valley. He is survived by his

(BASCO)
SNOOK of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario
daughter, Suzanne M.
JENSEN of Copetown, Ontario; and four adoring
grandchildren, Kirsten and Taylor

SNOOK. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Nancy Anne. He is well-remembered
by an extended network of family in Nova Scotia and the rest
of Canada and by Friends across North America, the Caribbean
and the world. Bill and Juene made their home on a scenic golf
course at the Landings on Skidaway Island for the past 20 years

Royal Bank of Canada took them from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to
Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, as well as to Trinidad
and New York City. Starting from a humble position as a branch
clerk in Nova Scotia, Bill, in succession, managed the Bank's
main branch in Montreal, its Caribbean branch network, all of
its South American and Caribbean operations, and a significant
portion of the Bank's business in Ontario. He retired in 1983
as a Senior Vice President responsible for Royal Bank of Canada's
operations in the United States to consult to various companies,
travel extensively with Juene, manage his investments, and sharpen
his golf game. Bill also served in the Canadian Air Force as
a Flying Officer in the Second World War and was a member of
the Masonic Lodge - Montreal Chapter. A simple memorial service
was held on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Fox and Weeks Hodgson Chapel

MYHAL,
John
After 87 years of a very full and robust life, John
MYHAL passed
away at Saint_Joseph's Lifecare Centre on Sunday July 7th, 2008.
He is survived and forever rejoiced in by his wife Doris, his
children Cheryle
OLDROYD (Laurie), Beverly
GRENVILLE-
MYHAL (Allan
HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON,)
Gregory
MYHAL (Hoa,) and Denise
PARRY (Roger,) as
well as by his sisters Helen
MANTON and Pauline
BONYUN. He was
a favourite 'Grandad Johnny' to his many loving grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Kay
ROPER,
Anne BARNES, and big brother Mike
MYHAL.
John attended Brantford
Collegiate Institute and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force
during the war. After 1945, he returned to Brantford and began
his cabinetmaking career on Richardson Street where he created
his woodworking masterpieces for the next 60 years. Examples
of his superb craftsmanship grace numerous homes and businesses
throughout Brant County. In the summer, when not 'at the shop',
John could be found perfecting his other passion on the local
golf fair ways. He was a formidable opponent, but always a more
generous friend and playing partner - he achieved his treasured
'hole in one' late on in his career at the Burford Golf Links.
John will be loved and remembered by all for his bighearted spirit,
his corny sense of humour, and always 'being there' for family
and Friends. Please join our family in celebrating John's modest,
but still remarkable and exemplary life. If a man's life can
be measured by the firmness and warmth of his handshake, then
John had no equal. Visitation will be held at McCleister Funeral
Home, 495 Park Rd. N. Brantford, on Friday from 7-9 p.m. And
Saturday from 3-5 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in
the Chapel on Saturday at 5: 00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy,
donations in John's memory made to the Grand River Conservation
Foundation would be appreciated. McCleister 519-758-1553 www.mccleisterfuneralhome.ca
