Peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 7, 2008 in his 87th year. Philip will be sadly missed by his wife Bernice (née PRZEDWOJEWSKA " Prescott,") sisters Christine (Bill predeceased) Pearson and Wendy (Norman) LAWRENCE, his children Diana (Barry HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON) EGMORE, Suzy MOORE (predeceased) and husband Peter, Bernice (Jim) HOLLETT and Richard STEVENS. Grandchildren Jamie HOLLETT (predeceased,) Anna (Mark) CUTHBERTSON, Willy (Amy) HOLLETT, Matthew and Chad STEVENS, Samantha and Tiffany EGMORE, Naomi and Joanna (predeceased) MOORE, and great-grandchildren Jessica and Jacqueline CUTHBERTSON and Wyatt and Everett HOLLETT. Philip grew up in Birmingham, England, went to King Edwards school and at age 18 went directly to the Territorial Army. In 1939, Philip enlisted in the British Army as an anti-aircraft gunner. He then became a Lieutenant and was sent to India where he served until the end of the war. He then graduated from the University of Birmingham in Electrical Engineering. Philip came to Canada and worked at Canadian Westinghouse and Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., where he met his wife Bernice. He retired at age 62 and enjoyed his gardening, theatre and travelling. A special thanks for the wonderful care provided by Champlain Manor Retirement Residence and the Palliative Care Unit at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. The late Mr. Philip MAYES will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Then from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel, Tuesday afternoon June 10th at 3 p.m. Interment Saint Martin of Tours Cemetery, Whitney, Ontario. Pam died unexpectedly, but peacefully and quickly, at her home in Christie Gardens, Toronto on Friday, May 9th, 2008, three weeks after her 90th birthday. Beloved mother of Roger of Calgary, Stephen, Anne (Ray) and Heather of Toronto. Adored Granny of Monique VAUTOUR and Teresa. Fondly remembered by John B. CHETWYND of Vancouver, British Columbia. Predeceased by her siblings Laton, Joan ROSSETTI and Henry. Pam will be lovingly remembered by all her nieces and nephews, and by extended family in England, Australia and New Zealand. As a mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, teacher, musician, knitter, traveller and lifelong learner, Pam lived life to the fullest. She will be remembered by all for her sweet character, kindness and concern for others. Thoughtful, gracious and forgiving, she met everyone with a warm smile and endearing word. She always loved a good laugh and retained her sense of humour to the end. Special thanks to the staff of Christie Gardens for the gentle and loving care they provided over the past few years. A kind, gentle and elegant lady, teacher to many and a caring friend to all ages, passed away at Beechwood Court, Mississauga in her 94th year, after a long illness. Youngest daughter of the late John and Pearl McMULLEN of Petrolia. Predeceased by Douglas, her loving husband of 66 years, her beloved son Frederick and dear sister and brother-in-law, Orris and Melvin BEECROFT. Iva was deeply loved by her daughter Pamela ALEXANDER of New Zealand, daughter-in-law Carol ROLPH of Garden Hill, granddaughters Jennifer RUSAW of Newcastle, Meredith SEABROOK of Yellowknife, Morgain HOLLINGHURST of Edmonton and Jalynn ANDERSEN of Vancouver and their families including eight great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her nephew Doctor J. BEECROFT and his wife Roberta and her niece Heather BEECROFT of Toronto and their families. Iva was a graduate of Western University (English and French) Class of 1934 and was employed as a teacher in Petrolia, Montreal, Sarnia and Mississauga. Her love of teaching English, French and Latin was the basis for a life long love of reading and her favorite novel was Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Iva had many interests including knitting, sewing, bridge, music, theatre and travel and was famous for baking bran muffins. She was a longstanding member of her church, Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire and the Retired Teachers Association of Ontario. She brought her family together on many happy occasions and her legacy of love, courage and strength is an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. Her "larger than life hugs" will be sorely missed. Iva's family wish to thank all the wonderful caregivers, both in her home (Seniors for Seniors) and Beechwood Court (Excel Care) who provided support and love during this difficult stage of life. In addition, appreciation is extended to her former neighbours as well as members of Saint Peter's Church who shared their love. Special thanks to Michael Lavelle and Chris Hyatt for their unwavering Friendship and loyalty through many years. He formerly worked as a locomotive engineer with the Canadian National Railway. At 92, after a long illness in Westmount, Quebec, predeceased by her husband Cameron BERWICK in 1974 and by her second husband Robert DEVILBISS in 2002. Beloved mother of Jim BERWICK (Margaret,) Jean HOLLINGWORTH (Alan,) and Hugh BERWICK (Jill) and cherished stepmother of Edwin DEVILBISS (Carol.) Peggy had an enthusiastic approach to life and her thoughtfulness, and genuine love of and concern for others made her Friends wherever she lived: in Westmount, the Laurentians, Hilton head Island, South Carolina and in Blairstown, New Jersey. Her grandchildren will remember her as an active woman who lived a full and rich life. She loved skiing, swimming, fishing, traveling, volunteering for numerous organizations, playing bridge, cooking and reading, however, the centre of her life was always her family. She leaves a legacy of love which we will always remember and continue to celebrate. Thanks to the staff at the Chateau Westmount for the loving care and compassion she received in her last years. A private family burial will take place in the Mont Royal Cemetery at a later date.

passed away peacefully on January, 22, 2008 at the age of 56 years at the Foothills Medical Centre. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, the Rt. Reverend Barry C.B. HOLLOWELL and their children Katherine (Aaron SHELDON,) Joshua and Mark and granddaughter Emma. She also leaves to mourn her mother, Irene of London, Ontario, her brothers Michael of London, Ontario, Sean of Regina, Saskatchewan, Timothy of White Rock, British Columbia and her sister Noelle of Woodstock, New Brunswick. She will be sadly missed by numerous other family members and Friends for her commitment, dedication, loyalty, tenacity and courage.
Linda was born on December 3, 1951. In 1973, Linda graduated from Saint Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and the University of New Brunswick, with a Bachelor of Law degree in 1975. She spent 30 years practicing law both in private and public sectors including holding the positions of General Counsel at the Calgary Health Region, and the Niagara Health System at the time of the Ontario health system amalgamation and restructuring. Linda was called to the Bar in New Brunswick in 1976 and is a member of both the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Law Society of Alberta. She was designated Queen's Counsel in Alberta in 2006. From 2003 until her passing, Linda was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the University of Calgary. She has been actively involved and served on multiple boards in the not-for-profit sector. She was currently a Trustee for the Anglican Church of Canada's Pension Plan.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to support the award established at the University of Calgary, The Linda Barry-Hollowell Graduate Award. Peacefully at the Ottawa (Civic) Hospital following a stroke, Frances died in her 93rd year on 23 January 2008 in the loving company of her daughter Susan. Born in Louisbourg, Nova Scotia on Friday, 13 August 1915, she was the daughter of the manager of the Marconi wireless station, Donald MacDONALD and Katherine FRASER. Predeceased by her beloved husband Air Commodore Donald Morison, brother Bill MacDONALD and sister-in-law Dorothy (Gainesville, Florida), and infant daughter Mary. She is survived by her son Fraser and wife Sandy (Toronto), daughter Sue and husband Ted BAKER (Ottawa) and son Rob and wife Kathy (Corvallis, Oregon), as well as five grandchildren, Robin (Jenny), Lori, Kelly (Christa), Aran (Chrissy) and Sean (Elizabeth), and five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alexandra, Kylie, Rhys, and newborn Maeve. She will be fondly remembered by her numerous Friends and relations, who were touched by her love of life, her grace and wisdom, and not least her unique singing voice.
