Helen died peacefully on Monday June 9, 2008 at Maple Villa in Burlington, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Reginald K. CROUCH. Born in Hamilton, Helen was a long time resident of Toronto. She was the youngest child of Archibald and Minnie (MacGILLIVRAY) RICKARDS and outlived her siblings Thelma, Jack, Dorothy and George. She is survived by her nephew John RICKARDS of Oakville and her niece Elizabeth HILLIAR of Ottawa. A memorial gathering and the interment of ashes will be held at a future date. Donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be a fitting tribute to Helen's memory.

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Mom, Edna Mary BOTHWELL, in her 94th year, at the Grey Bruce Health Services-Owen Sound, on June 1st, 2008. Born May 18th, 1915, she was the only daughter of the late Bob and Sadie (COOK) BOYD. Mom will have endless stories to tell our Dad, Allan (May 23, 1959). Most importantly that two teenagers and a toddler, Mayme, Marie and Alvena increased the family to include sons-in-law, Bill HILLIS, Doug ORMSBY and Tom MARTIN; also five grandchildren and six great-granchildren. Several nieces and nephews survive, as well as special friend, Marg RADBOURNE, sister-in-law Viola (Mrs. Gordon BOTHWELL,) and Friends at the Parkway Apartments, where she thoroughly enjoyed “calling home” for the past thirty-one years. Dr. Felix DEGAN passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Guelph, Ontario. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Barbara (McINTEE,) his daughter Diana ROBINSON (Greg,) son Peter (Robin HILLIS,) daughter Monica FERRACCIOLI (Aaron,) grandchildren Lauren, Alexa, Kaitlyn and Courtney, and his sister Maria MOSETTI (Oscar) of Trieste, Italy. Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Pierina DEGAN of Trieste, Italy, and brothers Edoardo, Diodata and Livio. Felix was born in Castelnuovo, Italy on July 13, 1938. He was a proud Canadian, arriving in Saint_John, New Brunswick in 1959 with no knowledge of the English language and a degree from the Polytechnical Institute of Trieste. His first job in Canada was as a service station attendant, taken so that he could learn English and the ways of his adopted country. Felix made it his goal to never stop learning. He was a design technologist, design engineer, project engineer, and chief engineer, finishing his career as President of his own company, Industrial Components and Equipment Co., specializing in water and air pollution. He completed studies in mechanical engineering through the Kentucky University, completed a diploma in Business Administration Management Studies at Conestoga College, received his Master Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and received his Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Management from State University of New York. A member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists since 1984, Felix was also a member of the New York Society of Professional Engineers, The American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians, The Institute of Chartered Engineers of Canada (Fellow Member), and The Institute of Incorporated Engineers in the United Kingdom (Fellow Member). He was also the recipient of numerous awards and citations. In 2005, Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists created the Doctor Felix and Barbara Degan Award, honouring his years of involvement and Barbara's years of support, by giving an outstanding international technology student from an Ontario college a yearly bursary award. Felix was a dedicated family man, always there to offer his guidance, love and support. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. John went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the age of 92. Survived by his loving wife Edna of 67 years, daughters: Janice SCHESKE (Don) Springfield, Missouri, Jillian LYNN- LAWSON (John) Porcupine Hills, Alberta, daughter-in-law Virginia LYNN (Ken) Sylvan Lake, Alberta; six grandchildren: Regan LYNN (Tracy,) Rael LYNN (Leanne,) Renard LYNN (Mary Jo,) Darryn SCHESKE (Loree), Kimberley ROANE (Greg) and Erika CAWSTON (Jonathan;) 14 great-grandchildren; his sister: Dorothy HILSDEN (Al) Peterborough, Ontario. Sadly predeceased by son, Rev. Jesse LYNN in 1987. John and Edna invested their lives in ministry including over 40 years as missionaries to Africa. Passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 25th at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in her 61st year. Barbara, beloved partner of Ed LEAKEY and cherished mother of Heather and Louise, will be always be remembered by her precious granddaughters Brittany and Keziah, sons-in-law Peter HILSON and Harry BURGLER, as well as many Friends she considered to be family including Evelyn and Linda PARKER, Wendy FARNESS and Barb LEAKEY to name just a few. Surviving siblings include Betty, Reginald, Ross and Gloria, as well as siblings of her late husband James COX including Ron (Eve,) Irene (Norm) HENDRY, Ann (Bob) RAWN, Bill (Karen) and the late Barb (Earle) OSBURN. She was also predeceased by sisters Marg (Doug) JEFFRIES, Frieda, Doreen and brothers Albert and Bob. Barb was also a special Aunt to Sharon and Doug (Gina) JEFFERIES, Calvin McDONALD; Randy, Roxanna (George), Rob (Gayle), Joyce, Jerry (Marie), Greg, Earl (Sue,) and the late Rick (Connie) OSBURN; Sharon (John) VANDERKRABBEN, Robert, James (Carl), Michael and Jeffrey (Katrina) RAWN; Sherry (Wayne) PFEFFER and Terry (Sherald) COX; Doug (Lois), Jane, Norm, Bob, Ann and John HENDRY; Joshua and Bradley. Barb will also be sadly missed by the younger generation in her network of family and Friends including Jennifer and Jessica ROLLING, Jesse and Carlee LAWSON and numerous other great nieces and nephews. Throughout her life Barb showed incredible determination in overcoming adversity and always appreciated having her days brightened by family, Friends, former neighbours, Bendix co-workers and Laundry Factory customers. She choose to be grateful for what came her way rather than to complain about what didn't and, while receiving excellent care from Doctor QUIGG, Community Care Access Centre, hospice workers and nursing staff on the second floor of the G&M Hospital during her final months, was able to eloquently remind us all about what is truly important in life. May her spirit live on to help make the world a better place. Visitation will be held Friday, March 28th from 7-9 p.m. with funeral to follow on Saturday March 29th at 1 p.m. all at Fawcett Funeral Home - Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie George HUBERT on Sunday, June 1 at the age of 76. Born in Bexleyheath, England on November 11, 1931, he immigrated to Canada at a young age, arriving first in Nova Scotia and moving with his new bride to London, Ontario in 1949, where he worked for Loblaws for more than 30 years and took to his new home with enthusiasm, becoming an avid photographer, golfer and outdoorsman, with a special affection for Algonquin Park. Devoted husband to Arlene and father to Gary, Penny (wife of Mike YECK,) Deborah, Cindy, Frank and Rick; proud grandfather to Heather, Diane, John, Steven, Nathan and Trevor; and great-grandfather to Shawn. Survived by 2 sisters, Christine COOKE and Frances HILTZ, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and England. The family would like to express its gratitude to Wayne Ball, Frank Dores, Bob Lamb, Butch Lucas, Larry Shaw and Ken Twilley for their enduring Friendship and support.
