Strathroy on Thursday, July 24th at 3: 30 p.m. with Doctor Brian
McKENZIE officiating. Visitation will take place from 2: 00 p.m.
until service time. Interment of cremains will take place at
a later date in the family plot in Matheson, Ontario Donations
to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian
JONES, cherished husband, talented painter, music lover and loyal
friend to many. Brian was just 57 when he was taken from us on
February 27, 2008, in Collingwood, Ontario, far too soon, for
he had so much left to give. He will be sorely missed by his

1950, in Chatham, Ontario, was predeceased by his father Lionel
and mother Mabel and by father-in-law Peter. Brian battled pancreatic
cancer for just one month but during that time he always kept
his sense of humour, and learned how closely he was held in others'
hearts. A celebration of his life will be held on March 8 at
11 a.m. the Fawcett Funeral Home in Collingwood, followed by
a uniting of his Friends and family at the Admiral's Post pub.

William Alexander
ROBB, M.D., F.R.C.S. died at his home in Calgary
on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the age of ninety-two. His remarkable
life began on February 21, 1916 in Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan where
he was born on the family farm. Doctor
ROBB received his M.D. degree
from the University of Western Ontario in 1943 and was promptly
shipped overseas and posted to Italy. Following World War 2,
he became a family doctor in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan where he
met Barbara
GREEN, a schoolteacher, whom he married in 1949.
Dr. ROBB returned to the University of Western Ontario and obtained
his General Surgery Certification in 1953. After further subspecialty
training at the Universities of McGill and Manitoba, he earned
his Fellowship in Urology in 1954. The
ROBB's moved to Calgary
in 1955 where Doctor
ROBB practiced Urology with Doctor Lorne Mitchell
and Doctor Jack Noakes. Together they were recognized for their
pioneering work in the 'art of the practice of medicine' when
special tribute was paid to them on Surgeon's Day in 2007 by
the Department of Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine at the University
of Calgary. Doctor
ROBB retired at age 77 and in his retirement
he enjoyed his family and Friends, his beautiful backyard, reading
history, telling stories and traveling. He was an acclaimed medical
practitioner whose generosity and kindness knew no bounds. Doctor

Passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2008 at the age of
92. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years Edith. Loving
father of sons Terrance (Grace) and Ronald (Dianne). Lovingly
remembered by grandchildren Darren, Michael, Clayton, Jarrett,
Conrad and Elysia. Bill will be greatly missed by his family
and his many Friends. We are blessed to have had him in our lives.
Bill was born in Milton, Ontario and raised and educated in Hamilton
and Peterborough. Bill served in the Canadian and British armies
in World War 2. He was wounded during the liberation of Holland
as an officer on loan to the British army (Canloan). Bill graduated
from the University of Toronto as a Chartered Accountant and
had a lengthy business career with Silverwood's Dairies and
MacGillivray
Partners Chartered Accountants. Bill took great pride in serving
his community and had a particular interest in education. He
served as past Chair of the Board of Governors of Niagara College
and Chair of the Ontario Council of Regents for Colleges of Applied
Arts. His keen interest in lifelong learning extended to his
earning a bachelors degree in Philosophy from Brock University
in 1984. He was instrumental in forming the Brock Philosophy
Society and established a scholarship in his name for deserving
students. One of Bill's greatest accomplishments and joys was
his 50 years of service with Rotary International and their charitable
work on behalf of crippled children and other deserving causes
as a member of the St. Catharines Club. Bill and Edith enjoyed
some wonderful travels to Europe and Asia on behalf of both Rotary
and the Council of Regents. Bill also contributed to the St. Catharines
community through his volunteer efforts for the Young Men's Christian
Association, the Grantham Curling Club and the Lancaster Lawn
Bowling Club. Bill was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration
and took great comfort from his association with the church and
his many Friends there. This strong relationship resulted in
Bill establishing an endowment fund for religious education for
the church through the Niagara Community Foundation. The family
would like to thank Bill's personal care givers, JoAnne, Elizabeth,
Bea, Ben Carolynne and Amy, Dr's Hoosen and Hartman, Friends
Daphne, Bill and Diane, neighbours Al, Lynne, John and Katie
and most especially Karen, Bill's dear friend, companion and
caregiver. Visitation for Friends of Bill will take place at
10 a.m. on Saturday April 19, 2008 prior to the funeral service
at The Church of the Transfiguration, 320 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines
at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at 12: 30 p.m. at the St. Catharines
Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack,
beloved husband and father, on May 13 at the Veterans Wing, Sunnybrook
Hospital.
Jack, loving husband of Helen (née
KEITH) for 64 wonderful years,
and cherished father of Peter (Anna), Alan (Judith), and Kathy
(Wally PALMER,) was predeceased by son John (Kathleen) and brothers
Bill, Bud and David. Jack is also survived by his sister Mary
Jane and his grandchildren Jaclyn, Meredith, Frederick, Carmen,
Matthew, Jill, Daniel and Holland

Jack was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, where at an early
age he joined the local Bank of Nova Scotia. He retired from
the bank in Toronto, after 43 years of dedicated service, as
the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Eastern Canada.
Jack was a veteran of World War 2, serving overseas for 2½ years
with the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.A.F.). Jack and Helen enjoyed
travelling to many places around the world, but never missed
a summer at Pt. La Nim on the Restigouche River surrounded by
their loving family.
Cremation has taken place and the burial will be in Campbellton
at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made to the

At Sunnybrook Veterans' Hospital on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in
his 84th year. Jim, loving husband of Mary. Devoted father of
Cathie (Ted) and Allan. Proud grandfather of Jennifer and Scott.
Predeceased by his sister Betty
FORD and parents Christina and
Cecil RUSE.
Jim was a World War 2 Spitfire and Typhoon pilot
in Royal Canadian Air Force Squadrons 416 and 439 and was a proud
member of the Canadian Aircrew Association and the Typhoon Pilots
Association. He graduated from the University of Toronto and
went on to become an inspiring science teacher in the North York
Board of Education for many years before retiring in 1985. Jim
was a long-time member of Mayfair Racquet Club and Spring Lakes
Golf Club. The family sends special thanks to the caring staff
at Sunnybrook's L-Wing for their kindness. Memorial visitation
at the Paul O'Conner Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between
Warden and Pharmacy) from 7-9 p.m. Monday. Memorial Service in
our Chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 2: 30 p.m. In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Sunnybrook Veterans'
