Passed peacefully into the hands of God at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the age of 82, with his loving wife Irene (GOTTFRIED) at his side. He was the eldest son of the late Milton and Marie WEISS. Loving father of Larry (Sandra) KURT of Ladysmith, British Columbia; Marion (Gord) KOEPKE of Owen Sound; Bob (Ann) WEISS; Muriel (Alan) PRAUGHT both of Kitchener; Robert (Leonie) KURT of Nanimo, British Columbia and Ken WEISS also of Kitchener. Proud Grandfather of Lisa, Lori, Jesse, Derek, Brian, David, Mark, Jeff, Chris, Mike, Lisa and Crystal. Caring great-grandfather of 14. Predeceased by his first wife Ruby WHITELAW (1961.) Brother of Mel, Esther ACKERNECHT Gerry; and, Joyce FERGIN all of Kitchener. In his retirement years Cal enjoyed small engine repair, reading and chatting on his CB. Cal will be sadly missed by his extended family and special Friends. Grandfather to Jennifer and Michael ELLIS, Matthew, Nicholas and Marisa FERGUSON. Also Bryan, Craig and Erin BARCLAY and Chase and Marc DOMPIERRE. Previously deceased by his sister Phyllis and step-sister Uretta PRICE. Former fighter pilot with Royal Canadian Air Force during World War 2. Joined Investors Syndicate Limited (now Investors Group) in 1957 and excelled as top salesman in Owen Sound and then Region Manager of Toronto Don Mills. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Saint Peter's at Chedoke (125 Redfern Drive), Hamilton at 2: 30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008. At Price's request, cremation has taken place. Denise worked at Bell for 31 years and influenced many people during that time. At Denise's request there will be no funeral and cremation has taken place. Her final resting place will be in the family plot at Holy Angel's Cemetery in Saint Thomas. When I think of Denise, I think of her eyes and they look out for all of us. She was born in Pamel, Belgium and was the beloved wife of 62 years of Albert ANCKAERT of Aylmer. Mary will also be greatly missed by her children: Gert ANCKAERT of London, Chris and his wife Deb of Dorchester, Rita FERGUSON and her husband Roger of Eden, Loretta THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and her husband Jim of Aylmer, Ben and his wife Bonnie of Aylmer. POISSON, Helen (née FERGUSON)

Helen died peacefully at home. She is loved and missed by daughters Renee and Therese, grandchildren Damien and Sarah, brother Douglas, extended family and Friends. She is predeceased by Rodney, her beloved husband of 64 years. Helen was born in North Bay, Ontario to the Rev. T.J.S. and Amy FERGUSON. From her beginning she had a radiant energy, an enthusiasm, curiosity and zest for life. Growing up in North Bay, Lanark and Kingston, Ontario, she played both the piano and the violin, often performing with her family. In 1925 the family moved to Vernon, British Columbia, where Helen completed high school. She earned her university fees picking apples in Okanagan orchards and teaching swimming and diving in Nelson, British Columbia. After completing her B.A. at University of British Columbia, Helen won a summer scholarship to England to study a new Swedish approach to natural movement, a method she was to use successfully during her years instructing physical education in the British Columbia school system. Returning to British Columbia, Helen spent another year at U.B.C. to get her teacher's certificate and taught high school physical education and art while completing her M.A. in history. In 1942 she married Rodney POISSON who became a professor of English Literature at Victoria College (now the University of Victoria). As the wife of a professor and the mother of two children Helen's fascination with the scholarly approach led her to become an invaluable researcher and capable editor of Rodney's academic writing. During the mid '60's, Helen was Dean of Women at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, where Rodney was teaching English Literature. Rodney and Helen's final academic years were in London, Ontario, where Rodney was Huron College's Dean of Arts. They retired to Comox, British Columbia in 1979 to enjoy their grandchildren, their Friends and sail their dinghy. Helen was an active member of Courtenay Youth Music Centre and the University Women's Club. She was a patron of the Amy Ferguson Institute, a non-profit organization offering educational support to promising young singers from the Kootenay Valley. At the age of 90, combining her talents as a letter writer and archivist, Helen wrote and published 'Sing as You Go,' a history of her mother Amy's work as founder/director of the groundbreaking Nelson Boys' Choir. Helen spent her last two years playing piano, engaging in stimulating conversations, picking blackberries in her garden, archiving her papers and writing letters to her Friends all over the world. As Helen's daughters we would like to thank the homecare nurses, doctors, home support workers, hospice volunteers and Friends for helping us take such good care of our mother. Helen asked that we celebrate her life with a Tea Dance, which will be held at D'Esterre House, 1801 Beaufort Ave, Comox, on April 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Mary passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30th, 2008 at Carefree Lodge in Toronto, having just entered her 100th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Doctor Kenneth FERGUSON, her younger brother John WYNDOWE and her first grand_son Jay RUSSELL. She is loved and missed by her four children and their partners, Ian and Meta, Anne and David, Brian, Shelagh and Bob, her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. After raising her children, Mary took up photography and became one of Canada's leading nature photographers, specializing in wild flowers and insects. In 1966, she became a Fellow of the Photographic Society of America and served as Chair of the Nature Division. She published two books on the Wildflowers of Canada, and for 19 years was editor and chief contributor to the Canadian Wildflower Calendar. In 1999 she donated 22,500 of her photographs to the Royal Ontario Museum. With them, the Museum was able to publish it's best-ever illustrated guide to "Wildflowers of Ontario." As Mary wished, some of her ashes will be taken to her beloved Georgian Bay where she spent summers for most of her life. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd at 1: 30 p.m. at The Manor, Bob Rumball Centre, 2395 Bayview Avenue, Toronto. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing from a heart attack of our dear husband and father on Monday, 7 April 2008, at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto, in his 80th year.
son of the late Benjamin and Rachel (née SMULLEN) BENNET- ALDER. Beloved husband of Margaret Isabel (née STEWARD/STEWART/STUART) for 45 years, loving father of Alice, Brisbane, Australia; David, Toronto, Peter, Niagara Falls; and Rachelle FERGUSON (John), Auckland, New Zealand. Loving grandfather of Aurora BENNET- ALDER, and Liam FERGUSON. Much loved brother of Tina BRAUN, Oakville, Ontario, Leon BENNET- ALDER, Tucson, Arizona and Adele ALEXANDER, Royal Oak, Michigan; loved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A gifted, passionate teacher of both French and English as a second language, he also served at the Ontario Ministry of Education from 1964 to 1989.
He was a good friend to many, delighting them with his sense of humour and encyclopedic knowledge.
Noël was a devotee of Sai Baba and had visited him several time in India.
A Celebration of his life will take place at the York Chapel and Reception Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto 416-221-3404 on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place in the chapel from 10 a.m. until service time.

KENNEDY, Joseph Herbert
Peacefully at Georgetown Hospital on May 5th in his 99th year. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Sheila KENNEDY (née REEVE) with whom he was married for 72 wonderful years, his son Brian KENNEDY and wife Lynn, his daughter Janet MAVOR and husband Leslie, his grandchildren Beth McLAY (Rusty,) Doug KENNEDY (Sonja,) Sarah FRASER (James), Christie FERGUSON (Steve), and Robert THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, as well as his great-grandchildren Katie, Joey, Livia, Liam, Ben, Abby, Cayden and Kailey. Joseph and his predeceased sisters Mildred and Gladys were born and raised in Wheatley, Ontario. Following several teaching positions, his graduation from the University of Western Ontario, a period as a school principal and many enjoyable years as a school inspector in the northern Ontario communities of Timmins, Kirkland Lake and Huntsville, he joined the Department of Education at Queen's Park. This was followed by another promotion to Regional Superintendent centred in North Bay where his responsibilities included all school systems from kindergarten to grade 13 in the North Eastern area of the Province. He was honoured to have a new school in Matheson named after him. He was also pleased to contribute in its formative years to Nipissing University in North Bay where he served on its first Board of Governors. In retirement years (38 of them) Joe and Peggy spent some of their best times at their cottage on Eagle Lake in the Sundridge and South River areas of Parry Sound District. He will be remembered for many things…his integrity, reliability, honesty, sense of humour, love of his family and more than anything else… he was a gentleman. The family would like to thank Christoff and Ursula SOMMER the owners of their excellent Mountainview Retirement Home in Georgetown and their fine staff members. The family also would like to acknowledge the compassion and care of Doctor J.P. VAN BENDEGEM, nurse Lynn HARMER of Mountainview, the care givers in the palliative care unit at Georgetown Hospital as well as the nursing staff members of Compassionate Care. Peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Sally-Beth. Much loved father of Terence (wife Stacey), John (wife Lisa) and Jeffrey (partner Joey). son of William Edward and Mary Elizabeth. Super grandfather (Opa) of Tanner, Bond, Harlowe and Jade. Brother of Richard, Terry,▲ the late Marjorie FERGUSON and step-brother Harry. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Born in England, Peter served in the British Army during World War 2, seeing action in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In 1948, Peter moved to Canada with his brother Richard and began his career in the insurance industry where he eventually built his own company Peter Robinson Insurance Associates Ltd., selling the company in 1986. He remained active in all sports including cricket, tennis, squash and golf when he came to Canada and particularly enjoyed his golfing Friends at Rosedale Golf and St. George's Golf Clubs in his later years. His story telling, jovial manner, helping hand and smile for all will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held in Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge Street, Toronto, on Thursday, June 5th, 2008 at 1 o'clock, followed by a celebration of his life at Rosedale Golf Club, 1901 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto. Devoted husband of 56 years to his loving wife Evelyn (WAKEM) and loving and generous father to Michele and Diane, proud father-in-law to John OSTERHOLM and doting Grampa to Holly, Kevin, Sarah and Rachel. Dear brother to Faye MURRAY (Harold,) Shirley MILLER (Chester) and Margaret FEARON (Hibert,) of New Brunswick. Predeceased by his brothers Clifford (Lena), Reid (Ivy), Paul (Opal), Gerald (Clara), and William (Kaye). Affectionately remembered as Uncle Jackie by many nieces, nephews and cousins across Canada. Faithful member of St. Timothy by the Humber Anglican Church, Ashlar St. Clair Masonic Lodge, the Rameses Shriners Temple and The Royal Canadian Legion. Decorated World War 2 Veteran who joined the Armed Forces while underage and saw active duty overseas. Graduated with Honours from Forestry school in New Brunswick, eventually relocated to Ontario and worked in the aircraft industry for many years, including the famed Avro Arrow. Retired from the Ontario Ministry of Corrections to enjoy a life of leisure, travel to Cuba and cooking. Famous far and wide for his homemade cornbread, biscuits and many types of jams and marmalades. A gregarious, kind hearted, fun loving family man who will be sorely missed by his many Friends and family.

She will be fondly remembered by family and Friends, daughter Pat WARREN- CHAPLIN (Gary CHAPLIN) and son Don WARREN (Huong), adored Grandma of William and Cynthia WARREN. In Victoria on July 10, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Vye PARMINTER, father of Martha (Paul HUTNER) and Elizabeth (Stephen CLARKE,) brother of Frances (Birdie) LOVE, Norman FERGUSON, and the late Jack FERGUSON.
Born at Castlefinn, County Donegal, Ireland on November 4, 1910. Emigrated as a child with his parents to New Westminster, British Columbia. Formerly with the Bank of Nova Scotia in New Westminster, Vancouver, Toronto, Stratford and Guelph. Captain in the Pay Corps at Camp Borden during World War 2.
Member of the Victoria Golf Club and a lifelong golfer who had his last hole-in-one at the age of ninety-three.
The family thanks the staff at Somerset House in Victoria, where James leaves many Friends, and the caring staff of the Orthopaedic Floor at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. At his request, there will be no memorial service.
He kept his head down and followed through.

Peacefully, on Friday January 25th, 2008 at Sunnybrook Hospital - Veterans K-Wing, in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Norma for over 58 years. Loving father of Andrew and his wife Ann and Greg and his wife Yvonne. Cherished grandfather of the late Leiah VICKERY. Survived by his dear brother John (Ruth) and predeceased by his adored parents Leah and John Wallace VICKERY, dear sister Beryle (Charlie) MacINTOSH and mother-in-law Dorothea FERGUSON. Frank will be missed and lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews extended family and many Friends. Norma will be terribly missed by her husband Alan (Toronto), daughters Patricia (Waterloo), Frances (Waterloo) and Elizabeth (Sudbury), sons-in-law Peter Roeser and Michael MURRAY, and grandchildren Patrick, Richard and Jean. No immediate service is planned, but a commemoration of Norma's delightful, doughty and enduring spirit will take place in spring, when we'll lay her to rest on the Bruce Peninsula, one of her favourite places.
