Loving grandmother (Nana) of Peter (Becky), Lisa METCALFE (Guy), Eryn, Blair, Taylor, Clara, Thomas, Bradley CAYLIN, Emily and Kelly. Our precious Mom and Nana will always be remembered for her caring and selfless spirit. Later moving to Beach O'Pines in Grand Bend, he worked in real estate, as well as being a lay minister at Saint_John's By-The-Lake Anglican Church. Music was always a big part of John's life, celebrated with many celebrities in his home. His many nieces and nephews living across Canada and the United Kingdom will cherish their memories of times spent with him. A funeral service was held at McMillan and Jack Funeral Chapel in Dundalk on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Greta (SMITH) DINSMORE of Barrie, in her 76th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald DINSMORE (1926-1968.) They were married June 5, 1954 in Saint Thomas Anglican Church in Bracebridge, Ontario.
Dear mother of Gary and Heather DINSMORE of Mississauga and Ashley DINSMORE (Ryan HALL) of Little Britain, Ontario. She is sadly missed by sister Barbara (Pat) FITZMAURICE. Predeceased by her brothers Mervin and Keith and a sister Velma WAGG. Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law Bill DINSMORE of Mississauga and sisters-in-law Doris LANGDON of Dundalk, Audrey DUNCAN of Etobicoke and Barbara McMILLAN of Elmira.
Minister was Rev. Janet ERIKSEN of Dundalk United Church, where a delicious lunch was served following the service for relatives and Friends from Mississauga, Bracebridge and other areas.
Burial will take place in Badjeros Cemetery in the spring.

Dear sister of Reta and the late Donald GOHEEN. Predeceased by her brother Teddy RICH. Dear aunt of Isabell and Les FRANKS and their family all of Dundalk. Predeceased by loving in-laws George and Florence BERDAN, Ellen and Bert PERRY, Gord and Marie DOBSON, Fred and Edna BERDAN, Louise and Bob FOWLER, and A.D. BERDAN. Survived by her loving sister-in-law Lillian BERDAN of Glencoe and by many other nieces and nephews. Isabell was retired from the Hudson Bay Company after many years of employment. Mervyn was an accomplished athlete excelling particularly in track. He was the All-Ontario junior champion in the 100 yard dash in 1938, and is a member of the Woodstock Sports Hall of Fame. He was a veteran of World War 2, serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. Mervyn retired from the Royal Bank of Canada after over 40 years of service. He was an active member of South Gate Centre and a long-time member of College Avenue Church. Formerly of Saint Thomas, passed away on Wednesday, April 30th, 2008, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Lilian (ALKER) DUNCAN (August 25th, 1998.) He is survived by his only daughter Diana Christine (Duncan) and her husband Ed KNOTT. Loved grandfather of six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Murray served overseas with the R.C.R. He worked at Canada Vetrified and was a sewer and water contractor. He is a 50 year member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Sgt. Mess and The Old Elgin Band and First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Church. Murray was born at Enniskillen, Lambton County on December 29, 1917, the son of the late Charles Henry and Lillian (COLE) DUNCAN. He was predeceased by a brother Melvin. Also survived by several nieces and a nephew. Dear father of Leonard of Woodstock. Loved grandfather of several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Georgina PULLIN, Betty PULLIN and her husband Bill, Ross MILLARD and his wife Marg and brother-in-law of Mildred MILLARD all of Woodstock. Predeceased by his sons Carman, Ken, James, Rick, sister Ethel and by his brothers Norman, Harold, Maurice, Donald and Wilfred. Wes was an avid lover of horses. He had dairy farmed at Sweaburg until 1965, then worked with Woodstock Apple Factory until 1983. His love of horses earned him a position with Millard Farms where he remained as a valued employee until 2001. Wes enjoyed his association with the Men's Club of College Ave. Church, Woodstock. At the age of 102 has gone to join her husband, Grant CREWE, her parents, Angus Bruce GLEESON and Margaret Adelaide PEET, of South Buxton, her granddaughter Kathleen, her brother Ivan GLEESON (Laura GOSNELL) of Chatham, sister Pearl (Bertram WRIGHT) of Merlin, all her in-laws and many others she knew and loved. Those who will miss her but celebrate her life are her sister Ola (John DUNCAN) of Florida, and her only child Nola CREWE and son-in-law Harold NELSON, her grand_son Derbyshire CREWE, his wife Vitoryha SHIELDS, their children, Grant and Devon; Kathleen's two children, Savannah and Dylan; her granddaughter Morgana CREWE and husband Michael KOZUROK; her granddaughter Verity CREWE- NELSON and husband Alexander AUSTRIACO and their daughters, Ella and Olivia; her granddaughter Victoria CREWE- NELSON, her husband Craig MOORE and their son Graeme; and many nephews and nieces. A talented woman who loved and excelled in sports, the Boulevard Club was her home away from home since 1932 (known then as the Parkdale Canoe Club) when she married and moved to Toronto. Fern enjoyed both work and play, and from her early days as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse, through a variety of careers, Fern returned to work as a curling pro when her husband died in 1965 and continued working until she was 85. Living independently in her Parkdale apartment, bridge, curling, oil painting, bowling, travel and her family occupied her years in retirement until at the age of 97 she moved to Chester Village following a stroke. She will rest at the home of her daughter at 74 Riverdale Avenue, Toronto on Wednesday 20 February 2008 and Friends are invited to call between 2: 00 and 8:00 p.m. Her funeral will take place at the Wycliffe College Chapel, 5 Hoskin Avenue, Toronto at 11: 00 a.m. on Thursday 21 February 2008. She will be interred with Grant at the Erie Cemetery, Wheatley, Ontario. Fern loved flowers, but would also appreciate contributions to The Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory.

DUNCAN, Gaylen Arthur
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gaylen Arthur DUNCAN who was taken from us too early, in his 61st year, on March 26, 2008. He was the beloved husband for forty years of Arlene and proud father of Gaylen (Alison), Krista (Michael DONALDSON,) Meghan (Stefan HAAG) and Robert. He was the adoring grandfather of Avery, Taylor and Graydon. Forever remembered by his devoted mother Frances Duncan LOCKE, mother-in-law Myrtle NICHOLSON and siblings John (Helene,) Gord (Libby,) Jennifer (Greg THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON), Jamie, Diane (Michael LEUTY), Susan (Ron SCHIRLIE). He is reunited with his father Gaylen R. DUNCAN, father-in-law Robert NICHOLSON, step-father Doctor Jack LOCKE and granddaughter Caleigh. Gaylen will be fondly remembered by his 12 nieces and nephews. With our family, mourn many Friends and colleagues around the world who will remember with great respect his intelligence, sharp wit and sense of humor. Gaylen was a senior corporate executive with diversified experience in both the public and private sectors for over 30 years. His B.A. from McGill, law degree from Dalhousie and a PhD in computer law from the University of Texas were just stepping stones in his life long thirst for knowledge. Internment will take place this thanksgiving weekend in Georgeville, Quebec, where he will rest in peace at the place closest to his heart. A memorial service will be held at Eglinton St. George's United Church (35 Lytton Blvd.) on Sunday, March 30th at 2 p.m. Reception is to follow at the church. WATERS, Gary Ross
(August 26, 1939 to April 2, 2008)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Ross WATERS. He was diagnosed with cancer in October 2004 and with a positive attitude, fought the good fight. He died at home in the care of his family and a wonderful nursing staff. Gary was the cherished husband of Suzanne, the loving father of Ellen and her husband Adrian LEE. He is survived by his mother, Nora O'REGAN, his sister Gayle RAE and her husband Jim, his dear friend and brother-in-law, John and his wife June and his brother-in-law Peter MANN. He was loved by his nephews and nieces; Greg and (Diana) RAE, Melanie and (Adrian) ROBINSON, Jennifer and (Rob) SCHROEDER, Alison and Steve THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Christine and (Christopher) ROPP, Carrie and (Brian) THOMAS, John and Jill MANN. He also greatly enjoyed his many great-nieces and -nephews. Gary and his family deeply appreciated the care and support given him by his dear Friends Doctor Charles and Mary DUNCAN. Born in Willowdale, Ontario, Gary came to St. Catharines at the age of 21 to manage a menswear business at the Pen Centre. He found he had a passion for the business and ran Gary Waters Ltd., for 45 years. His Friends and customers alike supported him as he built the store from 3200 sq. feet to 6500 sq. feet, modeling and remodeling as styles and tastes changed over the years. Gary was driven to accomplish and he enjoyed his relationships with his customers and his suppliers. He retired at the age of 65, and he and his wife Suzanne renewed their love of travel. Gary served on the board of the Pen Centre, was invited to be come a member of the American Men's Retail Association, acted as chairman of the Show Advisory Board for Fashion North, and was the president of Gary Waters Ltd. In 1990, Gary was nominated one of the top ten Canadian Men's Retailers of the Year by his peers. Following Gary's wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Friday April 4, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James L. Pedlar Funeral Home, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill. A celebration of Gary's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 11: 30 a.m. followed by the uniting of his Friends and family for a further celebration following the service. DUNCAN, Major William A. (1915-2008)
Suddenly on March 11th. A World War 2 Veteran, with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, Bill DUNCAN was always proud that he was one of the first military officers to arrive in Holland for their liberation. He remained a member of the Militia after the war, and was responsible for hiring staff at Sunnybrook Hospital upon returning home. A McMaster graduate from Hamilton, he worked for the Federal Civil Service and the Post Office until retiring at 60. He leaves his beloved wife of 69 years, Annabel DUNCAN, and daughters Debbie FLEMING/FLEMMING and Donna WOODS, along with 4 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Monday March 17th, 3 p.m. at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West, Toronto. Visitation at 2 p.m. March 17th.
