Wife of Richard Delbert WHELAN, mother of Avery Constance Qui ye WHELAN, died tragically at the age of 42 on Thursday, July 10, 2008. She is also survived by her parents, James and Perdita (Pert) REID and by her sister Catherine TURNBULL and her brother Jeffrey REID. Also by her brother-in-law David TURNBULL, niece Caitlin and her nephews Thomas and Reid. In addition she will be greatly missed by her father-in-law Chris WHELAN. Loved by her sister-in-law Kim WHELAN, Courtney and Ryan PIRIE; her brother-in-law Michael WHELAN, Mary Anne, Sean and Elizabeth; her sister-in-law Trish DALLIMORE, Martyn and Ashley; and her brother-in-law Gerry WHELAN, Linda, Christopher, Richard and Lauren. Alison was a beautiful spirit who lit up every room she entered. She was cherished and loved by her family, siblings, in-laws and nieces and nephews. She was a gift to all of the lives she touched and will be forever remembered in our hearts. She will be dearly missed by her many Friends from the Clarkson-Lorne Park area, Lorne Park Secondary School, The University of Western Ontario and the Kingsway area. She had a successful marketing career in the fashion industry and was an active volunteer with several charitable organizations. Heartfelt thanks to her relatives and Friends who provided comfort and support and to her professional advisors. 83, died peacefully at Leaside Retirement Residence in Toronto, Ontario, on Thursday, July 10th, 2008. Born in Orillia, Ontario, he is survived by Jeannine DAYKIN (née JENNINGS,) the mother of Lynn CLUETT (Ray,) Judy DALLING (Bob,) Brian and Ian (Terry) all of Nova Scotia, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as brothers Steve and Vern. He served in the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1943 until 1946 and was then employed by Photographic Survey in Toronto. He transferred to their Montreal office in 1951 and moved his family to found Atlantic Air Survey in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in 1959, which he sold to Lockwood Survey Corp. in 1970 and continued to work as President and General Manager. From 1979 until 1985 he was Vice President, Marketing for Northway Survey Corp., which became Northway-Gestalt; the company was sold to Spar Aerospace in 1980, which required extensive travel around the world over the next few years. He lived a number of years in British Columbia doing consulting work, before returning to spend his remaining years in Toronto. He was a member of Canadian Institute of Surveying, President of Canadian Institute of Surveying in 1980, member of American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, and Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Cremation has already taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to express its heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Leaside Retirement Residence for the kindness, consideration and patience that we have experienced throughout the time that our father was living there. It helped a great deal when we were living so far away to know that he was treated with dignity and respect.

After marrying Homer on her 21st birthday she worked as a war time censor in Ottawa, lived in Chatham, Ontario until moving west to Edmonton in 1951 where she began her career as a high school teacher. Later her family returned to Ontario in 1961 where Frances became the head of Languages department at Aldershot High School in Burlington. In 1985, Frances retired to Grand Bend, Ontario to devote herself to her Friends, family and community. Frances will be remembered for her positive outlook, worldly travels, golf, bridge and love of life but mostly for her inspiration and concern for others. She will be dearly missed. Cremation. On July 22, 2008 in his 89th year. Allan was an Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve rating, an officer in World War 2 and an actuary by profession. His loving partner, Cheryl ROBINSON, survives him. Predeceased by his wives, Lillian and Madeleine and his sister Muriel. He is also survived by his daughter, Anne and her husband Geoffrey MURRAY, his step-son, Warren WOLFENDEN and his wife Lori, and six grandchildren: Willa and Adrian MURRAY, Ethan and Meghan WOLFENDEN and Jessie and Jamie DALTON. He was a special friend to Cheryl's family. Allan was a kind, gentle man who enjoyed travel, Friends and family immensely. His joy of life was shared with many and will be missed by all who have survived him. The family wish to extend our thanks to the trauma team at Victoria Hospital, especially Donna HESCH, who comforted Allan and his family. Born May 16, 1916 in Burford, Ontario, passed away peacefully at The George Derby Centre for Veterans in Burnaby, British Columbia on July 2, 2008, leaving sisters Dorothy OILLE of Ajax, Ontario and Betty INNS of Regina, Saskatchewan. She is survived by daughters Dr. Christine Adamson NORMAN and husband Richard N. NORMAN of Cape Coral, Florida, Ninkey Dalton EGLEE (ADAMSON) and husband Charles H. EGLEE of Los Angeles, California, loving grandchildren Chloe WOLMAN, Matthew WOLMAN both of Toronto, Ontario, and Blythe DALTON and Eli EGLEE of Los Angeles, California. Helen proudly served her country in the Canadian Army during World War 2 achieving rank of Lt. Nursing Sister and was awarded the following medals: Defense Medal, C.V.S.M. and Clasp. Internment is planned for October where she will come to rest in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Adamson Family Plot. Born in Dublin, Ireland she was predeceased by her parents Jeremiah and Elizabeth DALY. Beloved wife of 51 years to Patrick and deeply missed by children, Karen, Philip (Maureen,) Robert, Sandie ENNETT (Joseph,) and Debbie ACTON (Peter) and also grandchildren who will forever cherish many memories, Michael, Erica, Emily, Jerry, Mitchell and Laura. Frances is also survived by a sister Vera CHADWICK of Woodstock and many other brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews in Ireland. Frances was extremely blessed to have the Friendship of Tom and Cathy FAULDS. Friends will be received at the John T. WEISS, F. Michael
Passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at his home after many valiant struggles with cancer at the age of 86. Predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine. Survived by his devoted brother Wilfred (Toots) and his wife Blanche WEISS. Loving father of Peter, Patricia Weiss DALY and husband Mark, Paulette, Ann and Jacqueline and husband David SMITH. Cherished Poppa of Aryn, Evan, Owen and Ian ROTONDO, Lindsay WEISS, Lauren, Paul and Colleen DALY, and Cameron and Catherine SMITH. Michaael was a World War 2 Veteran who served in Holland. He retired in 1987 as Assistant Director of Education for the Metro Separate School Board. He had a lifelong passion for education. He spent his retirement years volunteering for Canadian Blood Services and was an active member of Blessed Trinity Parish. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 5-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Visiting also on Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 11: 30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Teeswater. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. DALY, Richard Arthur Jr.
Richard Arthur DALY Jr. (Dick) passed away at age 94 on Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Sunnybrook Veterans Care Centre. son of Richard Arthur and Katherine Cullen DALY. He attended Upper Canada College and University of Toronto, University College and belonged to Theta Delta Chi fraternity. During World War 2, Dick volunteered and served as an officer overseas with the Kangaroos Armored Personnel Carriers. After the war, he returned to Canada with the love of his life, his French bride, Genvieve HUBERT. Dick and Genvieve were married 62 years. After their marriage, he joined R.A. Daly and Company as a stockbroker, executive, and later served as president. Dick was an active member of the Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, the Toronto Golf Club, the Granite Club, the National Club, the Arts and Letters Club, the Ticker Club, and the Ahmic Lake Golf Club. Dick spent summers with his family at Ahmic Lake (Magnetawan), and enjoyed many winter vacations in Florida at the Hillsboro Club and later Boca Grande. Dick will be lovingly remembered by his wife Genevieve, his brother Tom, and his sister Katherine CASHMORE. Dick was the beloved father of Michelle and her husband Peter MORAWETZ; Patrick and his wife Sarah. Much loved 'Papa' of grandchildren Barbara and her husband Dave DEPEW, Denis, Zoe and David, and of great-grandchildren Alex and Jillian. Dick will also be missed by his attentive caregivers, Desma, Ernestina, Sam, and the staff and owners of Integra Care. In addition, Dick's family thanks the caring staff at Sunnybrook K3C.
The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) where a funeral will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10: 30 a.m., followed by a reception in the Leaside Room.
