Adored sister of Kayla, at home. Loving girlfriend of Blair COWIE of London. Beloved granddaughter of Doug and Nancy McCAW, and Sheila RICHARDSON (and friend Bill) all of Wiarton, and the late Ray RICHARDSON; and great-granddaughter of Kathleen SMITH, of Wiarton, and Eva SCHNIEDER/SNIDER/SNYDER, of Hanover. Passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday June 27, 2008. Margaret was born 98 years ago in Port Elgin to her parents Marry Maude "Minnie" (SHIELDS) and Dave SHARPE. She was predeceased by her husband Clark George LONGE in 1975 and an infant daughter Joyce (1945). Margaret is survived by her two sons Joseph "Joe" and his wife Frances of Blenheim and John LONGE and his wife Doris of Belmont. Missing their grandmother are Frank, Fred, Bill, Sherri, Robertta, Joanna, Johanna, John Junior and Michelle. Margaret was blessed to have five great-grandchildren Nadine, Sara, Maggie, Rachael and Chelsea as well as two great great-grandchildren Kaydence and Jaden. Also surviving is her sister Sally SAGLIMBENE and her husband Frank of Michigan and a brother-in-law Peter LONGE. She is predeceased by her sisters Ruth NEILANS, Stella BISSETT and Dorothy COWING as well as by her brothers Harry, Jack and Roy SHARPE. In keeping with her wishes, a private family service was held at the Blenheim Community Funeral Home on Monday June 30, 2008 with the Rev. David FULLER of Blenheim's Trinity Anglican Church officiating. A private interment and committal service will take place in Southhampton. Dearly loved wife of Charles James "Jim" COWLARD and loved mother of Catherine Louise OTTE and her partner Harvey STOVER of Saint Thomas, James "Michael" and his partner Sharon GRAWBURG of Saint Thomas and the late Mary-Lynn SSAINTTOINE and her husband Jim of London. Dear sister of James Andrew "Andy" BOWIE of Saint Thomas and Margaret Ann BOWIE of Saint Thomas. Loved grandmother of Amanda and Shane. Dear sister-in-law of John COLIN and his wife Drenise COWLARD of Port Dover. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was deeply involved and devoted to her family and her husband business endeavors. She was born in Saint Thomas on January 16, 1938, the daughter of the late James and Matilda BOWIE. Nancy PIGDEN (COWPER)
In loving memory of Nancy PIGDEN (COWPER) who passed away on Tuesday,
July 29th, 2008 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Sudbury at the age of 56. Nancy
was born and raised in Little Current on the Manitoulin Island. She took
great pride in her home town and being a Haweater. Nancy and her family
moved to North Bay, where she attended Chippewa Secondary School and
North Bay Teachers College. Nancy enjoyed being a primary teacher for
several years before becoming an insurance broker, working at Martins
Insurance and Knox Insurance. Nancy was at her happiest when spending
time with family and Friends. She was the heart of our family and her
home has long been the family gathering place for special occasions,
holidays and summer vacations. Nancy's many Friends also meant so much to
her and brought her great joy and laughter. Nancy always looked forward
to her annual and sometimes biannual trips to Mexico with family and
Friends, where they enjoyed fun, sun, food and drinks. Nancy cherished a
recent week in July in the company of family and Friends sharing stories,
laughter, food and drink. Nancy was vivacious, generous and caring. She
had great inner strength and grace with which she faced her final
challenge. Nancy will be forever remembered by her children Chris
(Kaelin) and Julie (Randi), her mother Sheila, her sisters Peggy (David)
and Lynn (Joel) and brother Rob (Anne), her nieces and nephews Steven,
Jason, Viet, Japhy, Zachary, Hannah, Elizabeth, Michael and Katie and the
Pigden family. Nancy will also be missed by her beloved dog Cowper.
Funeral services were held in the Martyn Funeral Chapel, 464 Wyld Street,
North Bay on Saturday August 2nd at 11: 00 am. Interment followed in
Forest Lawn Cemetery, North Bay. If desired donations to the North Bay
General Hospital Foundation, or the Salvation Army will be gratefully
