McKAY, Ilse Elizabeth (née MEYER)
(August 6, 1922-June 16, 2008)
Beloved mother of Bruce McKAY, Victoria HOWLETT and Ian McKAY. Loved and loved by her son-in-law Robert HOWLETT and daughter-in-law Pam BAILE. Loving grandmother of Justin and Brittany HOWLETT and Simon BAMBIC- McKAY. A beautiful soul born in Bremen, Germany, she came to Canada at the age of 30 to what she claimed was a glorious country. Though she moved many times in Canada and lived many more years back in Europe, she loved Canada best of all. We were blessed to have had such a loving and caring mother who taught us to see the good in everyone, to love and care for the world we live in and to celebrate life, especially the small things. A huge thank you for the love and support of Doctor Karen LO who made me able to care for Mum at home where she passed peacefully. Many thanks to the Victorian Order of Nurses and Community Care Access Centre, especially nurses Trudie and Lenore and Personal Support Worker's Jasminka, Lynn and Ernestine for all the wonderful help. A large hug to Doctor D. VUJOVIC, Fiona and the Cancer Clinic. Special thank yous to Janet TAILOR/TAYLOR- JEFFS, Peggy and Bill RIVARD, Norah and John BENNETTO for all their loving care of Mum, me and my family through gifts of time, food, flowers and fresh farm eggs. Thank you to our dear Auntie Lill, who at 93 wrote many encouraging notes and letters to Mom. A blessing to all of Mom's neighbours and ours for the many kindnesses bestowed. You have all made these last 6 months bearable. As per Mom's request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. We would love to invite all those who knew and loved her to an open house Thursday, June 19 from 6-9 p.m. at her home 714 Algoma Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, The Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through London Cremation Services (519) 672-0459 or online at www.londoncremation.com

BENNINGHOFF, Rose
"Truly I say, today you will be with me in paradise." (Luke 23: 39-43).
On Good Friday, March 21, 2008, Rose BENNINGHOFF went to that promised paradise to be with our Lord Jesus and her beloved husband of over 45 years, Benny BENNINGHOFF. Born in England, Rose and Benny came to Canada in 1952 where they spent their married life. They are now together forever. Missed by many, Rose will be forever remembered as a loving "Mum", loving and devoted wife and "The World's Greatest Grandma!" A caregiver to so many, she gave of herself unselfishly to all in need. Rose was an avid gardener, with beautiful gardens that spoke to all who passed her home. She worked for Shaw's Bakery for 17 years and knew every customer in a loving way. Cookies and doughnuts always found their way into little children's hands. Rose had an unbelievable talent for knitting and crocheting, creating hats, mitts, and baby sets for numerous years for the Guardian Angels, and so many beautiful treasures for her family and Friends. Anyone whoever stopped by the house would always find her with knitting needles in hand. Rose was also an accomplished pianist who also loved to play the organ. On many occasions she could be heard enjoying her music at either instrument. A lifetime of devotion to family leaves behind so many beautiful cherished memories as only Rose could fashion. We love you "Mum", and we will miss you with all our hearts, but we know we'll meet again in that promised paradise. Too well loved to ever be forgotten by her son Paul, his wife Cindy and their son John (her special baby). Also survived by many wonderful and loving family members in England. A memorial service to celebrate Rose's life will be held for family and Friends on Wednesday, March 26th at 1: 00 p.m. at Port Stanley United Church. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to Port Stanley United Church will be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas. Raised to Life You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at God's right side. Think about what is up there, not about what is here on earth. You died, which means that your life is hidden in Christ, who sits beside God. Christ gives meaning to your life, and when he appears, you will also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3: 1-3
