MARTIN, Louis (1935-2008)
At Pavillon Alfred-Desrochers, on January 22, 2008, following a long illness passed away Louis MARTIN, journalist. He leaves to mourn his wife, Hélène FILION, his three sons and daughters-in-law, Nicolas (Élise DESJARDINS,) Stéphane (Maya HARTLEY) and Alexis (Claire GEOFFRION,) his grandchildren: Béatrice, Gabrielle, Laurent, Zoé and Éloi. son of the late Joséphine DÉCARY and the late Hector MARTIN, he was the brother of Fernande (Pierre JUNEAU,) the late Suzanne (the late Pierre BLONDIN,) the late Denise (Francis CORBETT,) Yves (Louise-Marie CHOUINARD,) Geneviève (Gilles BEAUSOLEIL,) Françoise (André LAMY,) Luc (Louise BOUCHARD,) Hélène (Michel BRÛLÉ.) He also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law and his brother-in-law from the Filion family, as well as many nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grand-nieces. Suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Friday February 29, 2008. Shirley Ann KNOWLES of Southampton in her 76th year. Daughter of the late Albert and Gladys KNOWLES. Special friend of Jean INNES and of Jean's niece, Jeane INNES both of Southampton. Cherished sister of Eileen WINTON of Unionville. Also survived by her aunt Isabel HOWKE of Southampton, by her sisters-in-law, Helen KNOWLES of Toronto, Lois KNOWLES of Ajax and by her brother-in-law John McPHIE of Ajax. Proud and loving aunt of her many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by her cousins Lorna BROWN, Arlene Knowles LETHEREN, Trudy HOWKE and Jane and Roy OLDFIELD. At Woodstock General Hospital on Wednesday March 12, 2008, Joseph BEAVER of Woodstock passed away in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Marie BEAVER (née HARTE.) Loved father of Lydia BEAVER and her husband Bob SCHOFIELD of Aliston, Edward BEAVER and his wife Laurie SMITH of Woodstock, and Tammy BEAVER and her husband Todd HOMER of Texas. Joseph is survived by his brother James BEAVER and his wife Sylvia and his sister Bernadette WATSON and her husband Butch all of Woodstock. Peacefully, at University Hospital, L.H.S.C. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, Clifford Osburn BEAVER in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Merel "Betty" BEAVER (1997.) Dear father of Barry and his wife Donna of Amherst, Nova Scotia, and Marilyn and her husband Paul SMITH of London. Loving grandfather of Megann and C.J. Predeceased by son Clifford and brothers Bob, Alf and Leo. Cliff served his country for 25 years from World War 2 until his retirement and Cliff and Betty were the founders of the Centennial Beavers Square Dance Club. On Sunday, July 6th, 2008, Velva Crerar (née LONG,) after a lengthy illness at the age of 85 years. She was born and raised in London, Ontario. Velva is survived and will be missed by her children Bruce CRERAR (Fran), Bob CRERAR (Beth) and Donna BEAVER. Loving grandmother of Kimberly ENRIGHT (Jeff,) Jennifer JACKSON (Paul,) Pamela STOEHR (Mark), Bradley CRERAR (Tara), Randy CRERAR (Janna), Robin WASCHENKO (Nick,) and great-grandmother of Tory and Cassie ENRIGHT, Ty and Kierra JACKSON, Allison and Taylor STOEHR, Brady CRERAR and Lukas WASCHENKO. Predeceased by her loving husband Russell, parents Cecil and Florence LONG, brother John LONG, sister Anita SMITH, grand_son Greg BEAVER and son-in-law Lloyd BEAVER. Despite her illness Velva met life with a positive attitude and has been actively involved at Parkwood Hospital where she has resided for 17 years. She was a member of the Family and Patient Council for a number of years and has been involved in raising funds for a variety of charity events. In addition she was a long time member of the M.S. Society. Her love of family has been ever constant in her life, her strength and love has always been a guiding factor in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Friends will be received at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel (1997 Dundas Street) East, London for a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. Visitation 10: 30-11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Chapel. Loving father of Glenn and his wife Jane of Delaware, Janet and her husband Doug DYNES of Ingersoll, Paul and Jintina of London, and Suzanne and her husband Blaine KUENEMAN of London. Dear grandfather of Meghan NEVILLE and her husband Joe, Josh BEAVERS and his friend Gina, Matthew KUENEMAN, and Brittany KUENEMAN. Brother of Alice IRVINE, Gladwin and his wife Nola, Warren and his wife Jean and Clarence and his wife Joan.
