Passed away peacefully Friday May 30th, 2008 after a massive stroke, at the age of 92. His children were at his side at the Penetang General Hospital when John took his last breath. John leaves behind his beloved wife Joanna of 66 years, his son George and daughter Vera. As per his request, cremation has already taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the near future. Dad, although your body is gone, you will always live on in our hearts, our minds and especially in our garden.
"Do not stand and weep at my grave,
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die."
