The family received Friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton
on Sunday, September 23. Service was held in the chapel on Monday,
September 24 at 11 a.m. Interment Flesherton Cemetery. Memorial
contributions to the Cancer Society, Peterborough Regional Health
Centre or a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.

MacHUM died comfortably at his home
in Edmonton, Alberta on October 24, 2007 at the age of 79. He
was the son of Donald Wilfred
MacHUM and Mary Gibson Merritt
MacHUM of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his wife
Jean in 1997 and his brother Larry in 2005. He is survived by
his children Mary, Alison, and Donald, their respective partners
David, Keith and Karalee, his grandchildren Scott and Max, and
his dogs, Teddy and Tessie, all of Edmonton, Alberta. His sister,
Kathryn GILLESPIE, lives in Calgary. He was a graduate of Acadia
University (B.A., B.Ed.), Dalhousie Law School (LL.B.) and Harvard
Law School (LL.M.). He held senior executive roles with Algoma
Steel Corporation Ltd. in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Oxford
Development Group in Edmonton. He retired in 1981 to enjoy years
of happy travel with Jean and his family and to pursue his interests
in woodworking, family history, military history and gardening.
He was a singularity, and will be missed by many. He had a great
life, the perfect wife and a family he loved and who loved him.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
