AKINS, George Henderson.
After a long battle with cancer, on Monday, September 17, 2007 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Rogers Street Site in his 68th year with his family at his side, George Henderson AKINS passed peacefully. Beloved husband of Gloria SERNIUCK and the late Donna LITTLE. Loving father of Brad (Gail) of Barrie, Tanya (Jamie) DUPUIS of Ayr and the late Gregory. Loving grandfather of Connor and Jayden ALDUS, Keenan McHUGH and Nolan DUPUIS. Beloved brother of Joan STODDART (the late Robert) of Eugenia and Robert (Dale) of Hanover. son of the late Harry and Sadie AKINS. Son-in-law of Doris (the late Joseph) LITTLE of Markdale. Brother-in-law of Darlene (Gary) BOWLER of Ottawa. Remembered by his extended family Nick and Patricia SERNIUCK, Nickolas, Miread and Maeve, Brother-in-law Fred (Diane) PARK of Markstay and Jim HARRISON of Toronto. Predeceased by mother-in-law Margaret PARK. He will be sadly missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. George retired from Daimler Chrysler in 2001 after 32 years of service. The family received Friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton on Sunday, September 23. Service was held in the chapel on Monday, September 24 at 11 a.m. Interment Flesherton Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Cancer Society, Peterborough Regional Health Centre or a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David on Thursday June 7, 2007 at Sunnybrook Hospital after a short battle with cancer. David SHEFLER beloved husband of Marilyn. Loving father and father-in-law of Alison SHEFLER and Kieran McHUGH, Eric and Maia SHEFLER, and Joanne SHEFLER. Devoted grandfather of Martha, Rachel, Sarah, Stephanie, Natalie, and Jeffrey. A graveside service will take place in the Temple Sinai Section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery on Sunday June 10, 2007 at 2: 00 p.m. Shiva 17 Proudbank Millway. MacHUM, Donald Alexander
Donald Alexander (Sandy) MacHUM died comfortably at his home in Edmonton, Alberta on October 24, 2007 at the age of 79. He was the son of Donald Wilfred MacHUM and Mary Gibson Merritt MacHUM of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his wife Jean in 1997 and his brother Larry in 2005. He is survived by his children Mary, Alison, and Donald, their respective partners David, Keith and Karalee, his grandchildren Scott and Max, and his dogs, Teddy and Tessie, all of Edmonton, Alberta. His sister, Kathryn GILLESPIE, lives in Calgary. He was a graduate of Acadia University (B.A., B.Ed.), Dalhousie Law School (LL.B.) and Harvard Law School (LL.M.). He held senior executive roles with Algoma Steel Corporation Ltd. in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and Oxford Development Group in Edmonton. He retired in 1981 to enjoy years of happy travel with Jean and his family and to pursue his interests in woodworking, family history, military history and gardening. He was a singularity, and will be missed by many. He had a great life, the perfect wife and a family he loved and who loved him. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
