Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, December 5, 1927. Peacefully passed
away on Thursday, December 6, 2007 with his family at his side.

Brother of Kenneth
(Grace) NICOL of Fife, Scotland. Frank graduated from the Aberdeen
School of Architecture in June 1954, and decided to venture to
Canada. He met and married Joan, and made Canada his home. His
professional life included private practice and teaching at Ryerson
prior to his appointment in 1962 as the first Director of School
Planning and Building Research for the Province of Ontario. In
1965 he returned to private practice, retiring in 1995. He was
an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and
the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. He served as President
of the Ontario Association of Architects, was elected to the
College of Fellows of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada
in 1972, and was an Honorary Life Member of both the Ontario
Association of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute
of Canada. Over the years, his community activities included
President of the Association of Corrections and Criminology,
President of the Toronto Victorian Order of Nurses, and Governor
of Victorian Order of Nurses Canada, the council of the Ontario
College of Art, and the Board of the Ontario Heritage Foundation.
He was Chairman of Friends of Seneca, raising funds for needy
students. He loved politics, golf, and the family cottage. Frank
requested that there be no funeral service. Cremation has taken
place. Donations in Frank's name would be appreciated by the
Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Rumsey Centre, 347 Rumsey Road,
Toronto M4G 1R7, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Police name Sarnia crash victim

Police have released the name of a Parkhill woman killed in a
two-vehicle crash last weekend.
Mildred WIDEMAN, 69, was pronounced dead at the scene, Sarnia
police said.
