SARABIA, Doctor Luis Gutierrez
Died August 1, 2007, surrounded by family, at The Credit Valley Hospital, in Mississauga, Ontario. He was born on February 11, 1932, in Santander, Spain. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Valladolid in 1955, he completed his training in Northern Ontario. He subsequently set up a family practice in the College and Bathurst area of Toronto where he cared for generations of families in their native tongues of Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. He was committed to understanding the world around him more deeply and was devoted to the study of history, religion, art, and music. He had a great love for the outdoors. His children have inherited some of these interests through his example. He was most happy when surrounded by family and his wonderful Friends. Dinners were often marked by lively debate and laughter. He and his wife Mercedes were very proud of their children and the fabric of the family they created. Dr Sarabia is survived by Mercedes, his wife of 44 years, daughter Alicia and her husband Paul HENDRICK, son Luis and his wife Kristen SODEN, son Ricardo and his wife Rolande and son Michael and his wife Krisztina.
