SEHDEV,
Rajinder
Singh "
Raj"
(February 3, 1944-December 3, 2007)
On Monday, December 3, 2007, Rajinder Singh
SEHDEV died peacefully,
surrounded by his family.
Rajinder was born in Tarn Taran, India, as the eldest of Balwant
Singh and Sarjit Kaur's five sons. When Rajinder was a boy, a
frustrated instructor predicted he would never learn English.
In spite of this, Rajinder immigrated to Canada in 1965 as a
tool designer and in 1971, graduated from Queen's University
with a B.Sc. (Mech. Eng). Rajinder went on to leave his innovative,
elegant and overwhelmingly practical mark on machinery that brings
light and warmth into peoples' homes across Canada.
He is remembered by Pamela, his loving wife of 34 years, their
three daughters: Inderjit, Robinder and Harsharan (Chad); and
the scores of engineering students who had the privilege of Rajinder's
mentorship.
Rajinder's family thank Strathcona County Emergency Services
Dr. Waddington and the emergency room staff at the Misericordia
Hospital; the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at the University
of Alberta Hospital, particularly his nurses Alison and Liz,
Dr. Andrew Nataraj, Doctor Carolyn Au, Doctor Tim Darsault and Doctor Henry
the Pastoral Services at the U of A Hospital, particularly Marian
and Arminder Singh.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, December 6 2007, at 10 a.m.
at Hainstock's Funeral Home, with cremation to follow.
From Thursday to Saturday, an Akand Path will be held at the
Guru Nanak Sikh Temple on 14211-133 Avenue, Edmonton.
