Dear sister of Mervyn (Marie) TALBOT of Creemore, Marjorie BLAKEY of Orangeville and Morris (Shirley) TALBOT of Desboro. Sadly missed by sister-in-law Velma TALBOT of Collingwood, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one granddaughter and 2 brothers. The family will receive Friends at the Fawcett-McEachern Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, Durham on Tuesday. Funeral Service will be held at the Durham Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2007. Interment in Dundalk Cemetery at 3 p.m. Wednesday. BROWN, Melvina (formerly RIDDELL, neé TALBOT)
Melvina BROWN passed away on September 29, 2007. She was born February 1921 to Ed and Verla TALBOT and had four brothers and one sister, Mervin, Maurice, Delbert, Robert and Margerie.
In 1943 Melvina married Clifford RIDDELL and resided on a farm outside of Hopeville. There she and Clifford farmed and raised four children, Carolyn, Lorne, Barbara and Gwen. She worked hard on the farm and loved her flower gardens. She was involved in the Proton Community with Federation of Agriculture, Women's Institute and the Bethany Chapel Church in Hopeville.
Clifford passed away April of 1975 and Melvina continued to farm with her son Lorne.
She met J.A. BROWN and married in 1978 and moved to Durham. She became involved with the senior citizen's playing cards, and shuffleboard at Rockwood Terrace. J.A. passed away in 1995. Melvina continued to live in Durham and joined another group the Silver Threads Choir.
She loved life and enjoyed time with family and Friends. She adored her 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Melvina met a special friend Tys. We are grateful for your Friendship and companionship to mom. We know you will also miss her very much.

RIDDELL, Doctor Andrew (1919-2006)
Passed away peacefully, at Saint Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, December 29, 2006, at the age of 87 years. Andrew was a graduate of Upper Canada College and the University of Toronto and was an anaesthetist for just under 40 years. He was a charter founding member of the Kitchener Waterloo Power and Sails Squadron and a member of the Kitchener Waterloo Amateur Radio Club. Doctor Andrew was also a member of the Honey Harbor Boat Club, the Madawaska Club, and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Kitchener. He very much enjoyed his summers sailing in Georgian Bay. Doctor Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Mary, his sons, Bill RIDDELL and Drew (Evelyn) RIDDELL, grandchildren, Jennifer RIDDELL (Liam), Christa (Jason) GUCKENBERGER, Alex G. RIDDELL (Nicole), Karrie (Paul) ARCHAMBAULT, Melissa GRUBER, and Alex R. RIDDELL, as well as his great-grandchildren Tyler, Kalvin, Sydney, and Teah. Andrew is also survived by his sister Bea RIDDELL of Toronto and he was predeceased by his brother Matthew Kent RIDDELL. TAILOR/TAYLOR, Donald Charles
With courage and dignity, passed away after a brave battle with cancer on October 13, 2007 at the age of 70 years. Born April 8, 1937 in Exeter, Huron County, Ontario, Don is predeceased by his parents Luella and Ross, and by his brothers, Orland and Douglas TAILOR/TAYLOR. He is lovingly remembered by Judie (née HICKSON,) his wife of 42 years, by his daughter Suzie RIDDELL and her husband Euan of Vancouver, by his son Steven of Toronto and by his brother Kenneth of New Brunswick. Sadly missed by many relatives and Friends. Fondly remembered by the members of the Fairwinds community in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, where Don retired after a distinguished career at International Business Machines Corporation that took him across Canada, Europe and Africa. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario in 1962, Don was a member of Beta Theta Pi and remained Friends with several of his fraternity brothers through the years. The Taylor family would like to thank Doctor Baird and all the wonderful nurses at the Nanaimo Hospital palliative care unit. An avid golfer with an uncanny ability to bring a smile to everyone, Don's life will be celebrated at Fairwinds Golf Club on October 21, 2007 at noon. At his home in Burlington, Ontario on Sunday, November 25th Dad passed away peacefully in his 90th year. Survived by his loving and cherished wife of 68 years (September 9, 1939) Anne-Jane (née RITCHIE;) children Doctor Bryan CARROLL (Gail) of Kingsville, Ontario, Robert and Jayne (Roy SANGER) of Burlington. Survived by his loved sister Meryl RIDDLE of Sudbury and her family. Grandpa will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Christie, Virginia, Scott, Christopher and Joanne. Predeceased by his parents Bidwell and Alice CARROLL of Hamilton, and grandchildren Patrick and Marianne. Dad was a dedicated employee of Dofasco Inc. spanning 45 years service from 1937-1982 a long time member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club and a member of Wellington Square United Church for over 50 years. Loving mother of Donna WOOD and her husband William, and John. Cherished grandmother of Sara RIDGLEY (Don) and David KERSHAW (Elise) and great-grandmother of Ashlyn, Will and Felicia. Dearly loved sister of Donna DYCK. Also missed by godchildren Eric SMITH, Sara MASON, and Ann NAGEL. Predeceased by sisters Isabel and Glenna. Joyce was a proud supporter of the Canadian Red Cross and a disaster relief volunteer with the American Red Cross. She loved Saint_Joseph Parish where she was a longtime member. Joyce spent many years as a member/ volunteer of the West Lincoln Association of the Mentally Handicapped. She was a pioneer woman aviator and the youngest woman pilot to solo a plane in Canada. Peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus on October 22, 2007. Beloved wife and best friend of Robert William OADES. Cherished mother of Susan HAZELL- OADES, Jennifer OADES (Brendan REYNOLDS) and Valerie GAMACHE (Guy). Special Nana to Jon and Robert HAZELL, Emma and Adam TROTTIER and Caitlin, Jean-René, Guy-Robert and Nicolas GAMACHE. Dear sister of Bill LARGE (Linda) of Luton, England. Born in Royton, England in 1935, the girl in blue (Luton Girls Choir) married the man in red (Irish Guards Band) in 1953 and started a wonderful life in Canada that same year. While in Toronto (1953-1969), Marion sang with the Palmer Singers and St. Clement's Anglican Church Choir. Marion was an avid volunteer in her community for her entire life, serving the Girl Guides of Canada, the National Arts Centre Orchestra Association, St. Matthias Church, The Ottawa Regional Cancer Clinic and was co-founder with her husband, Bob, of the Rideau Lakes Cycle Tour. Marion's many Friends will miss her on the golf course, at the bridge table, at the book club and at her dinner table where she loved to entertain. Marion's compassion and laughter will be greatly missed by every life she touched. Enormous thanks and appreciation to the entire oncology team at the Ottawa Regional Cancer clinic, but especially to Dr. Stan GERTLER and Candace QUINN for their excellent care over the last 13 years. Special thanks also to Doctor HRADECKY, Doctor Louise COULOMBE, Doctor John SEELY, nurses Debbie and Kelly, and the Rev. Joan RIDING. A memorial service will be held at St. Matthias Anglican Church, 555 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, October 27th at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Loving husband and best friend of 35 years to Dorie RIDLEY. Peter died peacefully in Toronto on November 29, 2007 at Saint Michael's Hospital. Beloved husband of Diane (née MADILL) and father to Robin, Kenny, and Jamie. Remembered by his sisters Diana RIDLEY (Michael,) Derry CARR (Steve,) brother Richard, father-in-law J. Arthur MADILL, sister-in-law Jennifer MADILL, brother-in-law Kenny MADILL (Rochelle,) nieces, nephews and his extended McLernon family. Born and raised in Montreal, Peter moved to Toronto in the 1970's. His entire career was centred in the investment business, retiring early from Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce World Markets in the spring of 2006. Peter's passions included fishing, hunting, golf, and summers in North Hatley, Quebec. His family extends their sincere gratitude to the professionals at Saint Michael's Hospital in Emergency, Step-Up (14th Floor) and Intensive Care Unit. Their outstanding care and support was deeply appreciated. Peter, independent by nature, embodied life to the fullest and we will miss him. A service will be held at The Unity Church, 173 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street) on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 2 p.m. Parking is available next door at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home.
