POULIN, Jean-Luc Alcide
With great sadness we announce the death of Jean-Luc POULIN on Saturday, July 28th, 2007, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife and children, at the age of 67. Jean-Luc died of complications attendant upon the treatment necessary in the very unequal struggle against a brain tumour lymphona.
Jean-Luc was a devoted husband to Linda (Lye) and loving father of Jean-Louis (Aida) and Danielle (Randy). Grandpa to Christian and Matthew TENNANT and Nicolas and Sebastien POULIN. Predeceased by his parents Lucienne TOURANGEAU (1993) and Jean-Louis POULIN (1942) and his stepfather Roland CÔTÉ (2007:) older brother and mentor of Gerard POULIN (Lorraine) Claire BOURGEOIS (deceased) (Rheo,) Jean-Noel CÔTÉ (Jeanne,) Solange (Sally) ROY (Paul,) Real CÔTÉ (Marj), Louis COTE, Louise LEBEL (Tom), Michel COTE and Micheline BRASSEUR (Reg.) Favourite uncle of at last count 52 nieces and nephews.
A teacher of French par excellence at O'Neill Collegiate, Dunbarton H.S., Eastdale Collegiate and Lahr Secondary in Lahr, Germany, Jean-Luc was also French Co-ordinator for the Durham Board for four years. In his ten-year retirement he indulged his love of fishing and the outdoors, spending many happy hours catching pickerel on Lake Scugog.
We wish to express our deepest thanks to Doctor Walter CHANG, to surgeon Doctor Mark BERNSTEIN, Doctors Cynthia MENARD and Warren MASON of Princess Margaret Hospital, Doctor Nicole DEVOST of Lakeridge Health Palliative care, naturopaths Doctor Michael SMITH, Doctor Ali RAHMANIAN, and Doctor Sam ASHORE, and to our spiritual mentor Heidi McBRATNEY.
Jean-Luc's favourite charity was St. Vincent de Paul. If you would prefer, please make donations to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
Family and Friends will be received at the Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234), for visitation on Tuesday, July 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, August 1st at 3: 00 p.m. Cremation.

BESLER, Gordon Emil
Suddenly, at his home in Owen Sound on Tuesday, August 14th, 2007. Gordon Emil BESLER, of Owen Sound, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Alice BESLER (née JONES.) Dear father of Don BESLER and his wife, Katie, and Carol BESLER, both of Toronto. Loving grandfather of Christopher, Alex and Sam BESLER. Survived by his siblings Walter BESLER, and his wife, Eileen, of Saskatchewan, Delores RAHN, and her husband, Cliff, of Alberta. Predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Pauline BESLER, and his four sisters. A funeral service for Gordon BESLER will be held in the chapel of the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen Sound (519-376-7492) on Saturday, August 18th, 2007 at 2: 00 p.m. with Doctor Brad CLARK officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Owen Sound Minor Baseball League as your expression of sympathy.

RAHN, Frederick " Fred" Donald Andrew
Peacefully in his 95th year at Post Inn Village in Oakville. Loving husband of the late Audrey (née LIMPERT) and Dad to John (Nancy) of Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Joel (Margaret) of Ottawa, Jay (Sharon HARRIS) of Toronto and Julie-Anne of Oakville. Fred was predeceased by his brothers Eric and Cecil and is survived by his brother Ken of Vancouver. He leaves grandchildren Elizabeth (Alan CHOW), Brian (Victoria) and Caroline (André TREMBLAY) and great-granddaughter Emma TREMBLAY as well as many nieces and nephews. Fred was raised in Kitchener and Tavistock, Ontario. Fred's career encompassed management positions in sales, marketing and human resources mainly in the wholesale fuel oil business from which he retired in 1976. An early member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakville, he was active in its development for almost fifty years including serving on its lay Board at the time the church's building on Spruce Avenue in Oakville was constructed. Fred was an avid curler with the Oakville Curling Club and, in later years, a keen lawn bowler with the Oakville Lawn Bowling Club. Fred was also an active amateur film maker. In his early retirement years, Fred took the Tourism and Travel course at Sheridan College and then organized overseas tours. Fred was also active in print and television modeling, including a number of assignments as Santa's representative as well as an 'extra' in film productions in the Toronto area. Fred particularly enjoyed working on the Milton Berle film 'Off Your Rocker'. A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 12, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, corner of Reynolds and Spruce Street, Oakville, with reception to follow at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville (905-844-3221). Private interment at Trafalgar Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Canadian Lutheran World Relief (www.clwr.org) would be much appreciated.

Peacefully at Rouge Valley Health Systems - Centenary site, on September 30, 2007 at age 84. Jo beloved wife of the late Doctor J.E. FENN, M.D., F.I.C.S., F.R.C.S., CD (27 February '05.) Loving mother of Doctor Carrol FENN (Floyd) and her children Ryan and Meghan Robert J. FENN, LL.B, CD (Jill) - their children, Jason (Marla,) Jordan, James, Ashleigh; Patricia J. RAHNEMA, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Iraj) - their children Richard and Alex; Doctor Richard G. FENN (Mary Clare) and their children Harrison, Wesley, and Darcy. Aunt of Jeannette, Gene, and Donnie POULIN; Mary Ann (Bill) RUSTAY, Lewis, Kathleen, and Millie CORNWELL, Doug (Linda) IVERSON; Evelyn and Patti VIPOND. Predeceased by her sisters Mary, Mildred, Ann, Eva, Betty and her brother Peter. Dear sister-in-law to Peter (Jean) WARAWA; Raymond (Peggy) FENN and family; Colleen FENN, predeceased husband Bill and family. Jo, a retired R.N., was President of the Canadian Cancer Society; President of American College Physician and Surgeons Auxiliary and actively involved with many charities. A special thanks to Doctor James H. SWAN and all staff at Rouge Valley. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 5 at 10: 30 a.m. from Holy Rosary Catholic Church 354 St. Clair Avenue West (at Tweedsmuir). Cremation.
