GREIG, Helen
Of Hope Ness passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in her 70th year. Cherished mother of Shelley DEBOK and her husband Tony of Owen Sound, Kathryn GREIG and her friend Mike PORTER of Owen Sound and Chuck GREIG of Vancouver, British Columbia. Cherished Oma of Dana, Justin, Jade and Dalton DEBOK and Spencer, Kaitlyn and Lily GREIG. She will be sadly missed by her mother Laura HAHN of Wiarton, sister Brenda (Barry) GILBERT of Wiarton and sisters-in-law Alice (Bill) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Marg HAHN, Beatrice PRUDER and Leona GREIG. Helen was predeceased by her husband Bev, daughter Susan in infancy, father George HAHN and brother Norman HAHN. The family will receive Friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lion's head on Friday, October 19, 2007 from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, Lion's head on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2: 00 p.m. with Rev. Charles GINGERICH officiating. Interment Eastnor Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lion's head Hospital would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. A passionate sailor, beloved educator and respected writer passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007, after a prolonged illness. She will be sadly missed by the international sailing community and her family in Toronto, Canada and in Krakow, Poland - her son Aleksander RYBCZYNSKI, grandchildren Filip and Julia, nieces Barbara BILINSKA and Jadwiga WROBEL, grand-nieces Barbara PRUDHOMME and Agnieszka GADEK, grand-nephews Mark WOJDYLO, Andrzej WROBEL and Michal BILINSKI and a great-grand-niece Marysia GADEK. Memorial service at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Church, 354 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto.

Mother, wife, author, teacher, optimist ~ March 1st, 1918-September 29, 2007 Peacefully, in hospital and surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Celebrated children's author, long-standing member of the Canadian Authors' Association and Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire The heart of the Edwards family. A profound loss for husband Alan DE JOURDAN. Loved beyond words by her children: Edmond, Jane, Campbell, Marnie, Wallace and Caitlin and an inspiration to their loved ones: Darlene DUDAR, Bob GARDINER, Kate FREEMAN and Jodi HOAR (and her children, Aedan, Melisa and Mitchell.) Beloved Gram to David EDWARDS and Elizabeth SLEEN. She took great joy in her great-grandchildren, Margaret Harriet and Stella-Charles FISHER and George and Gordon SLEEN. Survived by cousins Edith JULIEN and Ron KEALEY (Fran.) Sadly missed by Bill and Louise and Chris and Theresa DE JOURDAN and Tina and Rob GARDINER (Jordan, Casidhe). Pre-deceased by sister Isobel O'CONNELL, ex-husband James EDWARDS and son-in-law Charles FISHER. Cherished friend to many, especially Kay McColgan, Inez Sunderland, Phyllis and Lloyd Ivany, Nessie Brisco, James Coates and to everyone who attended her legendary dinners. Special thanks to Doctor GAUTHIER, Dr. PRUDHOMME, and the palliative care team at the Civic Hospital. At Central Place in Owen Sound on December 13, 2007. Kathleen PRUDOM (née CURTIN.) Dear mother of Marie and her husband Gavin HALL of Sarnia, Joan and her husband David SKELTON of Owen Sound and James and his wife Rhonda of Waterloo. Sadly missed by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Milton Gilbert PRUDOM, and infant daughter Carol Elizabeth, one brother and one sister. A memorial service for Kathleen PRUDOM will be conducted at a later date. Interment, Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. Memorial donations to the G.B.R.H.C. In her 100th year, at Lakeshore Lodge, Toronto. Widow of Hamilton Debarres SIMS (d. 1947.) Also predeceased by her beloved brother Robert, son Jaffrey, daughter Ruth, and her long-time companion Mary INKSTER. Survived by her daughters Carol PRUNALI (Attilio) and Martha CAMERON (Gary GOFF,) her grandchildren Seana CAMERON (Lee STARLING), David CAMERON (Holly WHITE/WHYTE), and Pamela PRUNALI, and her great-grand_son, Ian CAMERON. Graduate of the University of Toronto. Received her M.A. in sociology at age 55. Served at Canadian Facts and the Addiction Research Foundation. Beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend. We will miss her strength, her level-headed intelligence, her passion for justice, and her wonderful stories. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway for a celebration of her life in the Chapel on Thursday, October 18, 2007, at 3 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations to either Doctors Without Borders or Save the Children will be appreciated.

Survived by her son Kevin PRUST and his wife Theresa, grandchildren Carla and Brandon PRUST, and Michael, Andrew and Brian BALOGH and 1 great-grand_son David BALOGH. Giorgina will also be sadly missed by her family in Italy as well as her close Friends and neighbours. Fellowship gathering will be held Thursday, January 4th from 7-9 at 601 Grenfell Dr., unit #53 in the Clubhouse.
