Passed away on Friday, June 20, 2007, at Toronto East General Hospital, at age 77. Beloved husband of the late Elfrieda. PITCHER, Lucy Gay
Peacefully in her sleep on 7/7/07 at Saint Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, Lucy Gay PITCHER, dear daughter of Peter and Phil PITCHER, sweet and gentle sister of Carol, Norm and John, and beloved "Auntie Gay" to Peter, Mark, Gillian and Douglas LA PRAIRIE, Hilary, Leigh and Robin PITCHER and Ian, Katie and Julia PITCHER. Gay was born in Wells, British Columbia on June 15, 1936 and lived in Yellowknife, Toronto and Vancouver. During a career as a secretary and typist, Gay was well liked by colleagues and admired for her conscientious work. Gay was truly a one-of-a-kind who was much loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday July 13 in Vancouver.

Through his marriage to Rosemary Beatrice LA PRAIRIE (deceased,) a member of the La Prairie clan, son-in-law of "Lap" and Beatrice LA PRAIRIE and brother-in-law to Jacqueline La Praire O'DONOGHUE and Paul, Jules, Richard, Leon, Carl, Clifford and George LA PRAIRIE. Father to Jamie, Rosemary, Karen, Malcolm, Paul, Fraser, Laurie, Jennifer, Moira, Megan, Stuart, Lesley, Blair, father-in-law to their 11 spouses, grandfather to 41 and great-grandmother to a few more, in addition to being uncle to about 120 in the La Prairie clan. Jim was born in Toronto, son of Colin and Catherine MacKENZIE and a brother to Marguerite, Faustina and Leo. He graduated from the University of Toronto and had a professional career in Toronto, McMasterville, P.Q., Boston and Rochester, New York. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 30 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home, Monroe Ave., Rochester and Funeral Service at 11 a.m. December 31st at Saint Thomas More Church, East Ave., Rochester.

CALDWELL, Alan James
At Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound on Monday, December 3, 2007. Alan CALDWELL of Owen Sound at the age of 59. Sadly missed by his children; Jeff, Matthew and his wife Jocelyn, Amy and her husband David DE MELO and their mother Mary CALDWELL (nee KYTE.) Also missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and Mary's family. Predeceased by his parents Ada and James CALDWELL, his sister and her husband Catherine and Bob REEKIE. Alan was a gifted music teacher and spent most of his career at Hillcrest Elementary and Sydenham Community Schools. Alan was involved with many community and charitable organizations including the Kiwanis Music Festival and the Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen. Friends are invited to the Tannahill Funeral Home 519-376-3710 for visiting on Thursday, December 6, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at St. George's Anglican Church on Friday, December 7, 2007 at 1 o'clock with Canon Christopher PRATT and Rev. Passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday September 11, 2007 in his 19th year. Jesse, loving son of Debbie and James EBERHARDT and Joseph BALLANCE and Kim FINCH- BALLANCE. Brother of Natasha. Grandson of Jim and Ruby EBERHARDT, Laura and Ed PRATT and Dorothy and Francis ROSS. Jesse will also be sadly missed by his many extended family and Friends. WALKER, Marjorie " Molly" (DUNCKER) (1918-2007)
Passed away peacefully, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Monday, January 8, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Since her arrival in K-W, Molly has been a long-time member of Saint_John the Evangelist Church, Kitchener. Molly is the last surviving member of the DUNCKER family, the youngest of 13. She is survived by her nieces, Joyce COMRIE of Toronto and Valerie (Paul) SMITH of Pickering. Molly is also survived by the many caring family members of her late husband Jeff WALKER (1997) as well as her many nieces and nephews, much beloved by all. Friends are invited to share their memories of Molly with her family during visitation at Saint_John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 23 Water Street North, Kitchener, on Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Canon Christopher PRATT officiating. Cremation will have already taken place and private family interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto at a later date. VANCE, Jean Taylor (née McCORVIE)
Born October 19, 1928, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, July 28 in Bancroft, Ontario. Jean, beloved wife of 57 years to Donald James VANCE, will be mourned by her husband Donald, and children: Hugh, Victoria (Robert STANNERS,) Eric (Nancy COWAN,) and much loved granddaughters Jennifer Margaret MacDONALD and Mairi Kathryn STANNERS.
She will be forever remembered by her sister Gwendoline PRATT and her many nieces and nephews.
Jean grew up in Willowdale, Ontario and graduated from the University of Toronto in 1950. She and Donald lived in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Geraldton, Kenora, Richmond Hill, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury before finally settling in Bancroft, Ontario in 1984.
Jean was the consummate homemaker, making all feel welcome, anytime and anywhere. Jean actively participated in all the communities in which she lived and made many life long Friends.
Jean loved a good book (making sure by always reading the ending first), a good dessert (famous for her chocolate brownies) and her family and Friends.
Services were held at Saint_John's Anglican Church, Bancroft, Ontario on July 31, 2007. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Harold William Arthur THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON - Born February 6, 1907 in London, England, Harold THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON passed away peacefully on September 12, 2007 at his retirement residence, Riverpark Place in Ottawa, having reached the age of 100. He was the only son of Harold Ernest THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Alice Maud PRATT both of England. He moved to London, Ontario in 1921 with his family and then to Saint John, New Brunswick before settling in Ottawa. He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years Hannah May LAYLAND and his daughter Gail BUTLER, as well as his sisters Elsie HAMILTON and Alice GALBRAITH. Harold was a long-time employee of the Bank of Canada, retiring as Chief of the Public Debt Department in 1972. He was an avid violinist, who loved classical music, art and nature. He played violin in the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and also served on its board of directors as treasurer for many years. But his special passion was discussing politics, especially with his grand_son, Michael of Ottawa, who, along with his wife Sarah FOY, dedicated their time to seeing to Harold's needs in his later years. Harold leaves behind his sister Ethel BOSENCE of Saint John, New Brunswick son-in-law David BUTLER and wife Sandra of Guelph, Ontario; granddaughter, Marjory McDONALD, her husband Ian and their children, Carolyn, Erin and Brendan of Toronto; granddaughter, Ava BUTLER, and her husband, Al NEGRAZIS, and their children, Ashley, Lauren and David of Goodwood, Ontario; grand_son, Michael, his wife Sarah, and their daughters, Charlotte and Rebecca of Ottawa; and grand_son, Steven BUTLER and his wife, Tracey of Toronto; as well as various nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Doctor SALSETO, Harold's long time family physician as well as to all the caring staff at Riverpark Place. Harold leaves a legacy of love and an enthusiasm for life. His guiding light and words of wisdom will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and Friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Interment to follow on Monday, Sept, 17 at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa.
