CLARK, William Henry
(World War 2 Veteran)
Passed away on his favourite day of the entire year, December 25, 2007 at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound. William Henry CLARK, born July 3, 1922. Loving and devoted husband for twenty-five years of Sheila (née WILSON.) Remembered lovingly by his children Karen LEBLANC and Lionel, Jan and her husband Tom McCUE, Catherine CLARK- ARMSTRONG, Judy PACE and Finn, Bill CLARK and his wife Renee; as well as twelve grandchildren: Sean, Josh, Victoria, Tyler, Matthew, Michael, Emma, Zachary, Nathaniel, Emily, Daniel and Alexa. Bill was born in Douro Township, Peterborough County. Predeceased by his parents Allan H. CLARK and Maude (nee BEAVIS,) his sister Marjorie Jean and his first wife Ora CLARK (née WILSON.) Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Saturday December 29, 2007 from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Scott SINCLAIR officiating. Spring interment in Rosemont Memorial Gardens, Peterborough. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to either the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Mr. CLARK attended elementary and secondary schools in Lakefield, Ontario where he was a champion pole vaulter and avid sportsman. He was an accountant with G. Whitaker and Company in Peterborough from 1941 to 1956, with the exception of four years, 1942-1946, when he served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in the Second World War. He proudly served in Canada, Great Britain, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Mr. CLARK left accountancy in 1956 to become Deputy-Clerk of Peterborough for nine years until coming to Owen Sound as City Clerk in 1965. He retired from the position in 1984 after nineteen years of service. A former director of the Owen Sound Rotary Club, Mr. CLARK was also past Treasurer of the Grey Bruce Dufferin Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases Association. He served as an Elder of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Owen Sound for many years. He was also a member of the Grey Granite Club and the Owen Sound Golf and Country Club. He was the Number One fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. From all the grandchildren, thanks for the wonderful memories. “We won't say goodbye, we'll see you again.&rdquo

72 years of age, passed away August 29, 2007 at Peace Arch Hospital surrounded by his loving family and Friends. Beloved husband of Erika, devoted father to his sons Anthony (Anna) and Mark, daughter Adrienne; cherished brother to Yvonne Delia, Marie-Louise (Antoine) MIFSUD; and esteemed uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. Albert dedicated his life to serve in Medicine for almost 50 years. Graduate of the University of Malta - Faculty of Medicine and Surgery; St. Luke's Hospital -- Malta; King Edward Memorial - London, England; The General Hospital - Saint_John's, Newfoundland. Montreal Neurological Institute - Montreal, Quebec; Royal Edward Chest Hospital - Montreal, Quebec; Queen Mary Veteran's Hospital - Montreal, Quebec; Assistant Professor - McGill University - Montreal, Quebec; Holy Cross Hospital - Calgary, Alberta and his last 28 years at Surrey Memorial Hospital - Surrey, British Columbia, focusing on Chronic Pain Management. He leaves behind many respected and revered colleagues. To celebrate his life, a Memorial Service will be held at Valley View Memorial Gardens Chapel, Saturday, September 22nd at 2: 00 p.m. 14644 -- 72nd Ave. Surrey, British Columbia. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Robert and Sharron, and Nancy BEDER. Dear sister of the late Goldie ROTH. MacLEOD, Barbara
Died peacefully on Monday, June 18, 2007 at her home in Scarborough, Ontario, after a tenacious battle with cancer. She was 86. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, John Alexander (Rex) MacLEOD and will be mourned by her children Susan (John), David, Paul, Robert (Anita) and Gordon (Joanna). Barbara will be sadly missed by her brother Joseph PACH, her sister Helen BODNARUK and by her eight grandchildren, Anna (Paul) and Kate Charles; Emmitt, Claire, Maggie, Angus, Cameron and Eli MacLEOD, along with her numerous Friends and extended family. Special thanks to David and the other caregivers whose untiring efforts allowed Barbara to end her final hours where she wanted, at home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 20th at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centres, 275 Lesmill Road, Toronto, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A service will be held on June 21, also at the Simple Alternative, at 10: 30 a.m.

Jayne died in the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Monday October 15, 2007 at the age of 91 years, predeceased by husband G. Brodie GILLIES (1981.) Survived by son Rob, daughter Jacquie and brother Phil NIMMONS. Predeceased by her sister Arlene PACH. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Boyce Funeral Home, Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel St. N., Arnprior. A memorial service will be held in The Boyce Funeral Home Chapel on Friday October 19, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Richard HOLLINGSWORTH officiating. PACKARD, Elizabeth May
Passed away in her 63rd year at Chelsey Place, London, Ontario, on Monday, July 30, 2007. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Cleophas and Howard PACKARD of Longeuil, Quebec and Chilliwack, British Columbia. She leaves a brother, James D. PACKARD (Patricia) of Armstrong, British Columbia, nephews Andrew (Lynda) PACKARD and David (Julie) PACKARD and a grandniece, Molly Vegas PACKARD. The sorrow of losing Elizabeth is shared by the Pefanis/ Smit and Blackadar families, as well as her godsons, Miles Smit and Andrew BLACKADAR. Her loss will also be felt by the members of Temple Israel community, with whom Elizabeth had such a deep and rewarding affiliation. Elizabeth had many Friends she developed over the years, through her work at Child and Parent Resource Institute, and her studies at McGill, where she completed a Masters in Speech Therapy and Audiology. Elizabeth will be remembered fondly for her keen intelligence, lively curiosity, loyalty, integrity and warm generosity. A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 2, 2007 followed by internment at Restmount Cemetery in London, Ontario. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the charity of their choice.
