Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and Friends
on Monday, June 18, 2007 after a courageous three year battle
with breast cancer. Carmel was born in Belle River, Ontario.
on April 4, 1948 and lived in Toronto for more than 35 years.
Predeceased by her parents Marguerite and Arthur
DERDAELE.

DERDAELE of Grand Haven, Michigan. Dearest friend of Sue
OBATA.
She will be sadly missed by 17 nephews and nieces, 24 great-nephews
and great-nieces. Carmel served as the Director of National Events
for Tennis Canada including all Davis Cup and Fed Cup ties and
several national championships for more than 20 years. She was
the second longest serving employee for Tennis Canada. A celebration
of Carmel's life will be held on July 15, 2007 at the Estates
of Sunnybrook in Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to "Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in memory of Carmel
Derdaele."
