their families, including 6 very much-loved great-grandchildren,
and special step-sister Frances (Brumbaugh)
KAWAHARA
(Michigan.)
Born in Mount Morris, Illinois, daughter of J.S. and Florence
NOFFSINGER, she taught at the University of Toronto from 1947 to
1979. She was a gracious hostess and true mentor, interested
in her students, willing to help those in need, and selfless
to a fault - a woman ahead of her time in so many ways. Her love
of travel, exotic food, theatre, and interest in others always
led to fascinating conversations. The family is especially grateful
for the loving care she received at Rockcliffe for the last 12 years
of her life. There will be a memorial gathering of family and
Friends to celebrate her life and share memories at The Granite
Club, 2350 Bayview Avenue, Toronto on Saturday, November 24,
2007 between 1 and 4 p.m. The family requests that any donations
be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer
Society.
