Bob passed away suddenly in Toronto on December 3. Beloved brother of Karen (Jim), Laurie (Marlene) and Brian (Celia). Predeceased by parents Dr John and Ruth SIMMS and partner Joan NEWBIGGING. He will be sorely missed by his 7 nieces and 3 nephews, who all adored him. Fondly remembered by all who knew and worked with him, especially his socialist comrades and friend Doctor Robert Hawkins. At age 19 Bob was left a paraplegic after a car accident in Iraq where he was traveling. He rallied and moved on with his life with determination and extraordinary courage, never thinking of himself as disabled. Bob brought energy and commitment to every facet of his life. A lifelong political activist, he worked hard in the fight against social injustice with his optimistic beliefs in the ability of working people to improve their world and create human solidarity. With an ever inquisitive mind, he loved music, astronomy, scientific discovery, art, travel, and family reunions. His great inner strength and humanity touched all those who knew him and he enriched the lives of all of us who loved him. A family memorial gathering will be held after cremation and celebrations of Bob's life will be held in the New Year. Memorial donations to a charity of choice; condolences and memories can be sent to 508-118 Tyndall Ave, Toronto, M6K 2E7

In memory of Gary, who passed away July 4, 2004.
We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,

We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part
God has you in His keeping,
We have you in our heart
