Peacefully after a brief illness, on Monday, October 1, 2007
at William Osler Health Centre - Etobicoke at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of Alison for 51 years. Loving father of David
(Janice MUMMERY) and Bruce (Christine
BRUCE.)
Caring grandfather
of Miriam and Rosalind. Survived by his brothers Ken and Ed,
his nieces Ailsa, Lesley, and Doreen, and his nephews Ronald
and Fred. Ron was born and raised in Toronto. He was a veteran
of World War 2. After returning to Toronto, he graduated from
the University of Toronto and later became the head of Commercial
Studies at Downsview Secondary School. He was a committed member
of Lansing United Church. He also took an active role and interest
in Canadian politics. Friends may call on Thursday, October 4,
2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge
Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will
be held on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m. in the Chapel.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Amnesty
International or Lansing United Church.
