BOWDEN, Edna (née SHAW)
Of Lions head passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, December 30, 2006 in her 92nd year. Cherished mother of Elaine (Ivan) WHITE/WHYTE of Lions Head, Marian (Al) PROCTOR of Ajax, Lenn (Gloria) BOWDEN of Strathroy, Murray BOWDEN of Sarnia, Dianne (John) INNES of Brantford and Sharon (Peter) FRANCIS of St. Albert, Alberta. She will be sadly missed by 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Edna was predeceased by her husband Bill, parents Myrtle (PARSONS) and Charles SHAW, brother Norman SHAW and grand_son Robbie BOWDEN. The funeral service to celebrate Edna's life was held on Sunday, December 31, 2006 at the Bethel Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, Lions head at 3: 00 p.m. with Pastor Billy STRACHAN officiating. Interment Eastnor Cemetery. The pallbearers were David PROCTOR, Sean FITZPATRICK, Sandy INNES, John HUEHN, Shantie SIVARAJAH and Murray MIELHAUSEN. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Golden Dawn Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family. Of Tobermory peacefully with her family at her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's head on Monday, October 29th, 2007. The former Eva Delena GRANVILLE in her 92nd year. Loving wife of the late Dan WYONCH (2001) and Pat WILSON (1944.) Devoted mother of Goldie and her husband Clayton MIELHAUSEN, of R.R.#2 Lion's Head; Patsy and her husband Dale McARTHUR, of Port Elgin; Romayne WILSON and his wife Marie, of Tobermory; and Gail and her husband Barry THORN, of Hope Bay. Eva will be forever remembered by her 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Laverne WILSON, of Port Dover; and her many nieces, nephews and Friends. Predeceased by son John (1955) 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and her parents Joseph and Lydia. Family will gather for a private family service at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home and Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Thursday, November 1, 2007. Family invite Friends to join with them at Dunk's Bay Cemetery, Tobermory for a graveside service on Thursday afternoon at 1: 30 p.m. Following interment, there will be a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall (7437 Hwy. 6 Tobermory). As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Tobermory Health Clinic Auxiliary, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home. KAUK, Artur
Artur KAUK, of R.R.#1 Elmwood, passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton on Saturday, July 28, 2007. He was 70.
Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Jacob and Wilhelmine (née SCHAPPERT) KAUK. Artur was a member of the Hanover Legion.
Survived by his sons Perry (Norma) KAUK of Wawa, Tyson (Tami) KAUK of Walkerton, daughter Tania KAUK of Walkerton, grandchildren Tyla KAUK and Teghan KAUK. Also survived by brother Otto (Waltraut) KAUK of Kitchener, sisters Renate (Hartmut) SCHINKE of Orillia and Anita (Adolfe) MIELKE of Trenton. Predeceased by his wife Barbel KAUK.
Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Monday from 6-9 p.m. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Pat FLYNN, who passed away at home on January 4, 2007, following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Art FLYNN; children, Michael (Patti STUEWE,) Dartmouth; Christine (Doug) POWER, Dartmouth; Mary-Lou (Ed) DONNELLY, Halifax; Mark (Alison), South Rawdon; Janie (John) McCALL, Calgary, Alberta Peggy (Abder SAHOULI), Montague, Prince Edward Island; Carol (Peter) STORMS, Aurora, Ontario; Derek (Anne CHARLTON), Saint Margaret's Bay; Kevin, Toronto, Ontario; Paula (Robert BOUDREAU), Halifax grandchildren, Matthew and Laura FLYNN, Erin (Gerry) CLARKE and Jonathan POWER, Laura, Stephanie, Shannon and Teddy DONNELLY, Douglas and Jennifer FLYNN, Kate, Lisa and Rachel McCALL, Myriem, Malek and Anissa SAHOULI, Andrew and Sarah STORMS, Adam, Merrill and Maggie FLYNN, David and Bradley DEAN; great-grandchild, Dylan CLARKE; sister, Peggy (Graham) EDWARDS, Toronto, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Halifax on November 22, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Florence (MARTIN) MIELKE and Gerald MIELKE. She was predeceased by brother, Peter MIELKE, and sister, Jackie (Sr. Margaret Patricia, South Carolina). A lifelong resident of Halifax, Pat attended Saint Thomas Aquinas School and St. Pat's High School. She graduated from the Nova Scotia Normal College in 1949 and, at the age of 17, started her teaching career at Ardmore and Alexander McKay Schools in Halifax. After taking a break to raise her children, she returned briefly to teaching at Ida Mae Marriott School in Spryfield in the mid 70s. Pat was a devout Catholic, dedicating much of her time to the church and those in need. Her church work included: the Archdiocesan Liturgical Committee, the Archdiocesan Family Life Committee, Chair - St. Agnes Church Parish Council, member - Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Council, Marriage Encounter Leader and 30 years with the Catholic Women's League. She served, as well, as a church lecturer, lay distributor and religious education instructor. She gave selflessly of herself, always finding time for the less fortunate, opening her home and her heart to many people of the years. She was passionately involved in several choirs over her lifetime including the Chebucto Community Singers, St. Agnes and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Choirs, 18 years with the Nova Scotia Tattoo Choir, 22 years with the Dal Chorale and countless Scratch Messiahs. Her children and grandchildren are the proud recipients of her love of song and music, as well as her great sense of humour. Much of Pat's life was spent at swimming pools, hockey rinks and baseball fields supporting her children's activities. Her years of dedication to the Waegwoltic Swim Team earned her the Mother of the Year Award. Above all, Pat was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She will be sadly missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched. Special thanks to Monica Flinn (Palliative Care nurses), Doctor Stewart Cameron, the Victorian Order of Nurses, and countless family and Friends, who supported Pat throughout her illness with care, compassion, visits, well-wishes and eucharistic ministry. Visitation will be held in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, on Saturday, January 6, from 2-4 p.m. and Sunday, January 7, from 2-4 p.m. A celebration of Pat's life will take place in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 2 Melody Dr., Rockingham, on Monday, January 8, at 10 a.m. Reception to follow. Family interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, QEII Health Sciences Centre or Victorian Order of Nurses, Halifax. Retired from The Globe and Mail. Passed away peacefully, at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Jack, beloved and loving husband for 50 years to Noreen DOYLE. Devoted father to Theresa BERRY, Nora WEBB, Anne LEANDRO, Stephen McHALE, Helen MIETA and the late Jim McHALE. Fondly remembered by his sixteen grandchildren. Survived by his brother Paul and sister Carol. Friends will be received at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge, 23 Main Street South (905) 852-3073 on Friday, November 30, 2007 from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (70 Toronto Street North, Uxbridge).
