VAUGEOIS, John Paul
With heavy hearts the VAUGEOIS family announce the passing of John on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Caressant Care in Arthur. John leaves behind his wife and best friend Ann. A proud and loving father of Samantha (Xavier) MESROBIAN, Christopher (Heather,) Lise and Paula. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Andre, Mitchell, Harrison and Sofia. Family will receive Friends at the Graham A. SOLMON, Norman Harry
With love and gratefulness for such a wonderful life, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Sunnybrook Hospital amongst his caring family and close Friends by his side. Norman SOLMON, a Gold Medalist Chartered Accountant, extraordinary businessman, health guru, loving husband of Lyla. Proud father of Melvyn and Melanie, Sandra SOLMON and Doug MESSENGER, and Maureen WHITE/WHYTE and Richard WEDSELTOFT. Dedicated step-father of Gail POSLUNS and Bernard TELLEZ, Jeffrey and Melanie POSLUNS, and Joel and Lynn POSLUNS. Adoring grandfather (Zaidi) of Zoe MESSENGER, Wesley, Ryan, Jesse, and Lindsay SOLMON, Leah, and Mark TELLEZ, Emma, and Simon POSLUNS, Max, and Samantha POSLUNS, and Kerah, and Tasha SOLMON. Trusted teacher, best friend and business associate to Chand KAPOOR. Special thanks to his caregivers who made his last weeks of life so comfortable. BRENNAN, Fredrick Ralph
Born August 13, 1928 died at Toronto East General Hospital on Thursday January 4th, 2007. The son of Doris and Tom BRENNAN, predeceased by his brother Frank, sisters Margaret (Jack LONGWORTH) and Gladys (R Fordyce MESSER,) survived by his sister Vera (Ken ANISWORTH.) Remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews Barbara, Beverly, Barry, Jon Marcus, Melody, Marlene, Margaret, Jo-Anne, Suzanne and Ken. Fred was a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Local 353. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday January 9th. Service in the chapel on Wednesday, January 10th at 1 o'clock. Retired from Scarrow's Shoes, Owen Sound. Formerly of Peterborough, Toronto (1943-1955), Bayview Village (1955-1967), Owen Sound (1967-1985), Mississauga “Streetsville” (1985-1994), and finally, Peterborough. Peacefully, with her family at her side, on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre Hospital Drive, in her 92nd year. Gladys, ex-wife of Herbert A. HARVEY. Loving mother of Linda-Jayne “Jayne” HARVEY of Victoria, British Columbia and the late Gerard A. HARVEY (surviving wife Elizabeth.) Grandmother of Jennifer and Nicholas. Sister of the late Alma A. GERARD. Dear cousin of Helen GODFREY of Peterborough and her daughter Brenda MESSERVEY. She will be missed by many Friends. Visiting will be held at Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with a funeral service to follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment Little Lake Cemetery. O'NEIL, Pierre C. (1934-2007)
Journalist Pierre C. O'NEIL passed away on December 7, 2007. Predeceased by his parents, Marthe BELLEAU and Louis-C. O'NEIL, he leaves in mourning his wife Louise MARIN, his children Marin, Nathalie (John CONNOLLY,) Julie (Pierre-Marie BENOIT,) his grandchildren Pascale and Nicolas GREENFIELD of Ottawa, Ariane, Arthur and Félix BENOIT of Paris, his brothers and sisters, Louis (Huguette TANGUAY,) Georges (Carmen MESSIER,) Jean, Claire and Louise, many nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, his Marin sisters-in-law and their husbands, and many generous Friends.
Pierre C. O'NEIL was a Parliamentary Correspondent for Le Devoir in Ottawa and a Correspondent, Bureau Chief and Columnist for La Presse in Quebec City and Ottawa, where he was President of the Parliamentary Press Gallery. During that period, he was often a commentator on major radio and television networks, both within and outside of Canada. He served as Press Secretary for the Right Honourable Pierre Elliott Trudeau during the years of his minority government. Following that, he became Director of the Centre d'Etudes des Sciences et Techniques de l'Information at the University of Dakar (Senegal).
Returning to Canada, he was Director of Information for radio and television at the Société Radio-Canada, Vice-President of Communications at Westburne, Senior Communications Advisor at both the Cabinet de relations publiques National Inc., as well as at Bombardier. He became Director of the Centre for Research and Information on Canada, worked as an Advisor with Letko Brosseau and was a member of the Board of Referees at the Canada Employment Insurance Commission.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit from 2: 00 p.m. to 5: 00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., on Friday, December 14, 2007 and 11 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m. on Saturday December 15, at the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home, 1255 Beaumont, Town of Mount Royal. A Gregorian funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 15, at 2: 00 p.m. at Saint_Joseph de Mont-Royal church, 1620 Laird Boulevard, Town of Mount-Royal.

• The Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (Oncology, Saint-Luc)

The family greatly appreciates Doctors Jean Morin, Heart Surgeon at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Richard Létourneau, Oncology Surgeon at l'Hôpital Saint-Luc, and François Mercier, General Practitioner at the Clinique Médi-Club. Our thanks also to Lise Robitaille, Research Nurse at l'hôpital Saint-Luc, and Monique Lalonde, Nurse at the centre local de services communautaires de la Montagne. We are particularly thankful to Doctor Nicole Baird from the Côte-des-Neiges centre local de services communautaires and Pierre Desforges, Nurse from l'Association d'Entraide Ville-Marie, for the remarkable care provided to Pierre in the last days of his life.

GALT, Jessie Josephine
Widow of Eric St. Vincent GALT, nearing her 88th birthday, died peacefully and comfortably in the Scarborough General Hospital, December 12th, due to complications following the successful surgery to repair a recently broken hip. Close friend of "Patrick" De Mattos of Toronto, beloved mother of W. Tom FORSYTHE of Montreal, Quebec, grandmother of Deborah-Anne WHITE/WHYTE of Edmonton, Alberta, sister of Kathleen COLLINS of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, aunt of: Patricia MESSNER of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; Sandra RUSH of Austin, Texas; Jim WADDINGTON of Shelby Twp., Michigan; Darlene CUNLIFFE of Waterford, Ontario, and John McGILLIVARY of Brantford, Ontario, predeceased by sister Mona McGILLIVRAY, late of Brantford, Ontario also predeceased by her step-son Gary Eric GALT, late of Toronto, Ontario. "Joey" was admired and respected by all who knew her. She was determined to live out the final years of her own home, with her treasured "cats" keeping her company until the very end - a true animal lover! At Joey's request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place imminently. As she instructed, her ashes, as well as those of her beloved husband Eric will be spread on the waters of White Lake, near Palmer Rapids - their favorite vacation hideaway for several decades. Donations in the name of Jessie Josephine GALT may be made to the Scarborough General Hospital Foundation, towards the Intensive Care Unit, or to the Toronto Humane Society.
