It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred
KELMAN at her home on Thursday September 6, 2007 after a very
long and difficult journey, one that she accomplished with great
fortitude and determination. She is the most Beloved wife of
the late Kenneth
KELMAN, and very loved mother of Eleanor
LONDON
(Lou) and Rikki
MEGGESON
(John.)
She is remembered with great
love by her special grandchildren Lisa (Len), Lynne, Lorne (Susan),
Sean, and Steven (Mary). She was blessed with 10 great-grandchildren:
Laura, Spencer, Alyssa, Clayton, Dylan, Ryan, Cole, Sidney, Simon,
and Shelley. She leaves her sister Florence
SMITH, her sister-in-law
Beatrice TENNEY and her brother-in-law Harry
KELMAN.
She was
predeceased by her sister Belle
WAX and her brother Irving
TENNEY.
She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews. At this time we want to express
our thanks to her very special and beloved caregiver Dolly
EDWARDS,
who provided her with all the love, tenderness and skilled care
that one could ever imagine. There are many special people who
have helped us along the way and we would like to mention her
very special nurse, Natalia

following a stroke, July 29, 2007 at Saint_Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton,
in her 90th year. Widow of Richard John

ATKINSON. A lifelong volunteer, Mrs.
JOHNSTON
was a life member of the Joseph Brant Hospital Auxiliary in Burlington,
Ontario, an active Guider for many years in Ontario, a Board
member of Saint Thomas' Anglican Church in Cambridge, Ontario and
a member of the Canadian Red Cross Society. Music and art were
her passions. Mrs.
JOHNSTON played the organ at many churches,
particularly St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Indian Harbour,
Nova Scotia, where she also led the Sunday School. Since March
of 2006, Mrs.
JOHNSTON resided at Queens Garden Long Term Care
Residence, where she continued her painting and was able to play
the organ. In June, she held a one woman art show, featuring
her recent paintings. Thanks to the staff at Queens Garden for
their wonderful care and Friendship and to the nurses at Saint_Joseph's
(Cardiology) for their kindness during our Mother's last days.
Mary's family will receive guests at the Dodsworth and Brown Funeral
Home - Robinson Chapel (King St. E. @ Wellington) on Thursday,
August 2, from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service information will
be announced in Wednesday's paper. Cremation will follow. Interment
will take place at Saint Anne's Anglican Church cemetery, Byron,
Ontario.

(May 31, 1920-June 1, 2007)
Servicewoman, healer, sportswoman, world traveller, passed away
peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Kings Nursing Home
in Bolton, Ontario. She is preceded in death by her parents,
Robert and Ann
BRODIE, brothers Robert and Ian, and dear friend
Mable STUBBS.
She is survived by her nephew Michael
BRODIE and
his wife Marilyn, nieces Ann
INGRAM and husband Alan, Robin
CLEMAS,
Heather HEAPS and husband Len, Lee
MEGSON and husband John, Cathy
MOLINERO, numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews,
and life-long friend Marion
LINDNER.
Isabel, born in Oakville,
Ontario and later residing in Clarkson, Ontario, enjoyed a rich,
colourful life. She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during
World War 2, stationed 'overseas' in Newfoundland. She achieved
a degree in Physical Therapy after the war and worked at Toronto's
Hospital for Sick Children where she attained the position of
head Physical Therapist. Isabel retired from the hospital after
25 years of service. Isabel was an adventurer enjoying globetrotting,
camping, canoeing, cross-country skiing, birding, photography,
and golf. She was a skilled wood carver, dressmaker, gardener,
organist, folk dancer, and bridge player. She enjoyed entertaining
Friends, family, colleagues, and patients often at her home and
helping families who could not afford lodging during their child's
treatment at Sick Kid's. Over the years she sponsored children
through Christian Children's Fund visiting some of her sponsored
children in India and other countries. She will be greatly missed
by those who knew and loved her. She touched so many lives. She
will be held in our hearts always with great affection for her
character and love of life. A funeral service will be held on
Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral
Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, South of Steeles). She will
be laid to rest in the Veteran's section of York Cemetery (160 Beecroft
Rd.) following the service. Donations in lieu of flowers can
be made to Christian Children's Fund of Canada 1200 Denison Street
