Geddes
Eric died in Burlington, his home for 55 years, on Saturday,
June 30, 2007, after a good, long life. He was born in Hamilton,
Ontario on April 6, 1917 to Mary (née
GEDDES) and Alexander
STITT
and had two sisters, Mary
GRAHAM and Holly
MAW, both of whom
predeceased him. He attended Central, Westdale, Trinity College
and New York University. He volunteered to go overseas in 1941 and
served in the 2nd Survey Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery
until the end of the war. Shortly after the war he met Jean
REA
and they were married in 1948. Over the next eleven years they
had five sons and gave up trying to have a girl. For almost all
his working life Eric worked as the Purchasing Agent for Comstock.
He was an avid tennis player, gardener and golfer for many years
of his life and played his last game of golf just last fall.
He will be missed by his sons and daughters-in-law: Nick and
Susan, Brad and Jeanne, Dan and Sue, Joel and Christine, Karin:
as well as his grandchildren: Adriana, Colin, Alexandra, Nichole,
Melissa, Justin and Eric and his 3 great-grandchildren. He was
predeceased by his wife Jean in 1997 and his son Alex in 1987.
Cremation has taken place. A private funeral service will be
held later in St. Luke's Church, Burlington, followed by interment
at Hamilton Cemetery.

Passed away at York Central Hospital on December 27, 2007 in
her 97th year. Survived by Colin, her loving husband of 74 years
and her sister Elizabeth of Walnut Creek, California. Also survived
by her nephews Kenning, Colin, Ronald, and Ian
MARCHANT and niece
Rosemary MARCHANT and their families. She was predeceased by
her only daughter Beatrice and her sister, Edith
MARCHANT.
Elinor
was a former resident of Deep River, Ontario where she was, for
many years, the Editor of the North Renfrew Times weekly newspaper.
In retirement, she and Colin moved to St. Andrews, New Brunswick
where Elinor became the Chief Archivist of the Charlotte County
Archives. Recent resident of Glynnwood Residences, Thornhill.
Cremation. A gathering of Friends will be held at a later date.

It is with enormous sadness that the partner and family of Kathleen
LAWRENCE announce her passing at Princess Margaret Hospital in
Toronto. Kathleen leaves behind her loving partner and best friend,
Majda MEKIS.
Predeceased by her deeply loved brother and sister

Ben and Mookie. Kathleen was the heart of our family. To the
very last moment she lived her life with great energy and gentle
appreciation for all she encountered along her way. Words cannot
express the depth of our pain and loss. She will be missed and
remembered by her family and Friends, but, for all of us, will
remain the light of our lives. Huge appreciation for the extraordinary
care Kathleen received from staff and associates of Princess
Margaret Hospital, especially from the dedicated nurses and doctors
of the Palliative Care Unit. And particular thanks to Doctor John
BRYSON and Doctor Anita
SINGH for their singular support and compassion.
The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home -
A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue
East), from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18. Funeral service will
be held in St. James-The-Less Chapel, 635 Parliament Street on
Thursday, July 19th at 12 noon. The family would appreciate donations
to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Palliative Care unit, 610 University
