special place in her heart for Special Needs Children and Seniors

Eagleson Funeral Home in Tara on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral
service will be held in the chapel on Monday, September 17, 2007
at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations

JOICI, both of Toronto. Elizabeth owned Cambridge
Restaurant, was a partner with her former husband in Baboi Real
Estate and was in charge of the Bridal Department at Bramer's
in Toronto for many years. Elizabeth was a resident at the Hellenic
Home for The Aged in Toronto for 15 years. Private funeral services
will be held at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto. In memory of Elizabeth,
donations to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.

LOMMERSE, Ira (Born Iraida
SCHNATZE) (1924-2007)
Born of Russian and Baltic German ancestry in Riga, Latvia, Ira
went on her final journey surrounded by her children on August
28th in Victoria, British Columbia. Predeceased by her adoring
husband Doctor Petrus
LOMMERSE.
She is loved and will be greatly
missed by her children, Christopher, Marina, Ian, Julie and their
families. As well as her brother Ernst and sisters Barbara and
Leonora. Her character carries through her grandchildren Petrus,
Zoë and Maximilian. Her charismatic life-force, grounded manner,
generosity and life stories fascinated and endeared her to many.
Ira's nursing/midwifery career spanned from Berlin during the
dark war years, post-war displaced persons camps in Germany,
midwifery in Britain, tropical medicine in East Africa, and running
the clinic in Dunrea, Manitoba. She spent many years nursing
the elderly in Killarney, Manitoba before their retirement to
the Victoria area. A celebration of her wonderful life: Saint John
the Baptist Heritage Church, Colwood, British Columbia, 2 p.m.,
