Cherished grandmother to Craig NISKER and Mona HOLMES, Suri NISKER and Eric YAVERBAUM, Merrill NISKER, Alana and Ron FRANK, Barak WENER and Reut LITMAN, and Alex FIDLER- WENER, and devoted great-grandmother to Cole and Jace YAVERBAUM, Nadav and Gilad FRANK, and Peleg WENER. Dear sister to Molly RIBA, Ruth ULRICH and Stanley BESEN, and the late Moe BESEN, Ann GOLD, Rose WADLER, and Al BESEN. Devoted grandmother of Cathy, Kevin, Tracey, Heather, Pam, Arlene, Kent, Steven, Cathy, Donna, Carolynn, Laurie, Ken, Larry, Wayne, Wanda, Mark, Lynn, Shane. Great-grandmother of 36 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Audrey BRUCE and brother Doug ALLEN. Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, November 2, 2007. The former Dorothy Eileen KENNEDY, of Guelph and formerly of Durham, in her 98th year.
Beloved wife of the late John TORRIE. Loving mother of Harold TORRIE and his wife Mabel of Barrie, Phyllis and her husband Harold McKENZIE of Guelph, Leone and her husband Tom MARSHALL of Oro Station, Arthur TORRIE and his wife Marylen of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Glen TORRIE and his wife Gwen of Orillia and Brian TORRIE and his wife Elizabeth of Stayner.
Fondly remembered by her 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary KENNEDY, her brothers: John, Fred, George, Jim, Ken and William KENNEDY; and her sisters: Mabel WALKER, Violet McEWEN and Roberta KENNEDY.
Visitation was held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Monday from 2: 30-4 p.m. and 7-9 pm.
A Celebration of Dorothy's Life was held at the Durham Baptist Church on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. Pastor Robert LITTLE and Pastor David CLARKE officiated. Joyce REAY played the organ. The congregation sang, “Amazing Grace” and “Room at the Cross for You.” Tributes were given by Glen TORRIE, Glen McKENZIE and Valerie CLARK. Sharon KENNEDY sang two solos and The Gospel Couriers sang, “My Shepherd is Leading Me Home” and “What a Day That Will Be.&rdquo
The pall bearers were Harold TORRIE, Arthur TORRIE, Glen TORRIE, Brian TORRIE, Tom MARSHALL and Harold McKENZIE.
Committal Service and interment was held at Maplewood Cemetery, Varney. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Durham Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Died peacefully on August 29th 2007 at North York General Hospital, in her 94th year. Marjorie was born on November 8th, 1913 in Toronto, the eldest daughter of Robert LITTLE and Mary McIVOR of Liverpool, England. She was predeceased by her mother in 1927, her father in 1975, her son David in 1970, her first husband George GRINER in 1989, her second husband Dinty MOORE in 1998 and her sister Doris in 2002. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter Wendy BALLANTYNE (Donald,) her three grandchildren Peter (Jo-Anne) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Robert of Toronto and Karen of Edinburgh, Scotland as well as her youngest sister Phyllis (Andy) SALTER. According to her wishes, Marjorie has been cremated and a private family gathering to celebrate her long life has been held. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Elmer (2003) and loving mother of Wayne (Annette) of Hepworth, David (Lois) of Owen Sound and Sandra (Rick) LITTLEFIELD of Cambridge. Dear grandmother of Carrie MUSSELMAN and her partner Dane McCULLUM, Krista MUSSELMAN, Scott WALKER, Greg (Julie), Stephanie, Natalie MUSSELMAN, and Matthew and Amy ADVANI. She will be missed by her sisters Lois (Doug) BLUNDELL and Bev (John) STUDIMAN, and her sister-in-law Lorraine DIEFENBAKER; she was predeceased by her brothers Ernie and Verdun DIEFENBAKER. Helen was a faithful member of Hespeler Baptist Church and a longtime member of Maple Grove Women's Institute. She also volunteered at Fairview Mennonite Home. Passed away peacefully in Owen Sound on May 29, 2007, in her 89th year. A former resident of Kitchener, she was the wife of Robert BEILSTEIN of Kelso Villa, Owen Sound; mother of Betty TELFORD of London, and Larry BEILSTEIN of Kitchener; grandmother of Danielle BEILSTEIN of Toronto, Jon BEILSTEN of Elmira, Nicolas TELFORD of Manchester, England, and Nicole Beilstein LITWILLER of Elmira. Cremation has been overseen by the Hendrick Funeral Home of Mount Forest; a private family memorial gathering will occur during the summer.
