LENNON, Marion Ellenor (née IRWIN)
Marion passed away peacefully in her 91st year at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus in Wallaceburg on Wednesday January 3, 2007. Marion was predeceased by her loved husband Art (1986) and beloved son Dick (1976). She leaves her son Reg, sister Eileen EASTON and brother Ken IRWIN. Marion will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friend Blanche Herman. Marion was born and raised in Toronto and moved to Dresden with her husband Art in the 1940's. They made Dresden their home and raised their two sons there. Marion was an avid bowler and mentor with Youth Bowling Council and loved her church and community. She gave much of her time and love to her community and she will be fondly remembered by many. Marion coached bowling for many years and in 1996 she was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in both Wallaceburg and Dresden. The family wishes to thank the staff at Sydenham Residence, Wallaceburg who provided kind and compassionate care to Marion in her final years. Visitation will take place at the Thomas L. DeBurger Funeral Home, 620 Cross Street, Dresden on Friday, January 12, 2007 from 6: 00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 13, 2007 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2: 00 p.m. with Rev. Andrew SONG officiating. Interment in Dresden Cemetery followed by a reception at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, St. George Street, Dresden. In keeping with Marion's wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation. NEWMAN, Florence “Florrie” Emma (née SKILLITER)
Passed away peacefully on November 8, 2007 at the Stayner Nursing Home in her 94th year. Florence, loved wife of the late Joseph Edward NEWMAN (January 17, 2002.) Loving mother of Elizabeth WEATHERALL, June (the late Sid HOLROYD), Gayle (Lorne LENNOX) and Brenda NEWMAN. Dear grandmother of Deborah (Nathan,) David (Kitty), Heather (Rob), Grant (Lesley), Gary (Krista), Michael (Candace), Joseph (Diana) and Matthew (Melissa). Great-grandmother of Megan, Melissa, Joseph, Samantha, Gabrielle, Nicole, Justin, Samantha, Aaron, Fred, Chad, Stefanie, Makayla, Ava, Mason and Jayden. Great great-grandmother of Owen and soon to be born baby. Predeceased by sisters Olive HENDERSON, Sally NICCOLLS, Bessie WRAY, Alice SKILLITER and brothers Jack SKILLITER, Jerry SKILLITER and Sam SKILLITER and sister-in-law Norahine NEWMAN. She will be sadly missed by her many nephews, nieces, Friends, family and son-in-law Doug. Friends were received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home, 7313 Highway 26 (Main St.), Stayner (705-428-2637) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday November 11, 2007. Funeral Mass was held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 215 Pine Street, Stayner on Monday November 12, 2007 at 11: 30 a.m. Interment Saint Mark's Cemetery, Milford Bay, Ontario. Remembrances to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Humane Society, Canadian Cancer Society or Stayner Nursing Home Residents' Council would be appreciated. Passed away suddenly at home on Thursday November 1st, 2007 at the age of 56 years. Beloved husband of Carolyn LENNOX. Loving father to Emily. Brother to Peter and his wife Linda and brother-in-law to Gary and Eleanor LENNOX. Loving uncle to, Heather, Megan (Greg,) Andy and Beth. Joe will be fondly remembered by his extended family and Friends from the Toronto area, Parry Sound, New Brunswick and Fort McMurray and elsewhere. The family will receive Friends at the York Visitation Chapel and Reception Centre 160 Beecroft Rd. LENNOX, Elizabeth Graham (née LAW)
Born July 27, 1924, died peacefully on December 8, 2007 in Ottawa with family by her side. Daughter of the late Ronald Graham and Janet Paton LAW. Pre-deceased by her husband, Bob LENNOX in 2002. Loving Mother of Ross (Janet), Anne (Paul), Bruce (Harriet) and James (Lynda). Doting grandmother of Brent, Jill, Robert, Michael, Fiona, Cameron and Laurel. Sister of Robin (Susanne) LAW of Toronto and Nancy (late Bob) LOVE of Victoria. Visitation at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair, and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave. at Richmond Road, Ottawa. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday December 10 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday December 11 from 11: 00 until the service time in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Thanks to staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and Park Place Retirement Residence for their compassionate care. A very special thank-you to Hannah, her devoted caregiver for the last ten years. Graham was a graduate of the Royal Victoria Hospital (Montreal 1945). A scholarship has been established in our Mother's name at the School of Nursing at McGill University. Of Oliphant passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Wiarton Hospital on Monday, May 28, 2007 in her 69th year. Beloved wife of H.R. (Dick) SELMAN and cherished mother of Patti (Todd) HEGY of St. Charles, Illinois and step-mother of Al (Val) GEORGE of London, Andy GEORGE (Joanne REID) of Oliphant, Kim (Scott) HETHERINGTON and Dawn SELMAN (Ken BISCH) of Waterloo and Leslie (Wilf) LENON of Stratford. She will be sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grand_son, brothers Mac (Carolyn) McKENZIE and Donald (Dudley) McKENZIE of Oliphant, sister-in-law Anne McKENZIE of Oliphant and brother-in-law Red CAWKER of Fenelon Falls. Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband Len GEORGE, parents Annie (CONDY) and William McKENZIE, brother Murdoch McKENZIE and sister Cicely CAWKER. Marjorie was a registered nurse and worked for many years for Bruce County Children's Aid Society and later at Wiarton Hospital. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Marjorie's life at a later date. Interment Balsam Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton. LEVAN, Marjory Edna Cunningham
Passed from life at Saint Mary's-by-the-Lake Hospital in Kingston on November 12th. Surrounded by those whom she loved into life, Marjory died with great grace, having lived with and battled cancer for over 20 years. Born in China to missionary parents, Marjory spoke two languages of love her entire life: food and hospitality. Those who sat at her table and joined in her parties will recall her joy in good company and her energy for adventurous living. Travelling was Marjory's delight, never giving up on her wonder for the world which God has given us. Through much of her life Marjory was joined with Victor LEVAN, her husband for over 60 years and together they knew joy and sorrow, always thankful for family and Friends. Vic died in 2006, but Marj's children Peter LEVAN (Rhonda LENTI) Mary Beth (Bill SCHRAM) and Christopher (Kelly HIGGINS) were all with their mom in her last moments. Marjory's joy of living continues on in her 6 granchildren: Jeremy LEVAN (Carolyn), Robert LEVAN, Marybeth (Nathan GLENTWORTH), Rebecca CAVEN (James CAVEN), Matthew LEVAN and Griffin HIGGINS and 1 great-grandchild: Wesley LEVAN. A memorial service will be held in the church that supported Marjory and Victor with such compassion: Chalmers United Church (Kingston) on Sunday, December 16th at 4: 00 p.m. (followed by a pot luck dinner). As an expression of our gratitude for the life of Marjory and Victor lived, donations may be made to the Chalmers United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice. Marjory's work and wish for humanity is captured in the vision of peace and prosperity found in the prophet Micah: "And all shave live under their own vine and fig tree and none shall be afraid.
