HEWGILL, Hilda Isabell (née BRAY)
At Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Friday, June 1, 2007. The former Hilda Isabell BRAY of Thornbury and formerly of Clarksburg, in her 87th year. Daughter of the late John Wesley BRAY and Ethel Annie LEMCKE of Lion's Head. Beloved wife of Franklin HEWGILL, of Thornbury. Loving mother of Carly HEWGILL of Thornbury, John HEWGILL and his wife Darlene of Clarksburg and Jayne RANDALL and her husband David of Clarksburg. Sadly missed by grandchildren Sarah TEDFORD and her husband Drew, Leah HEWGILL, Daniel HEWGILL and Elizabeth HEWGILL, Chelsey RANDALL and Rachel RANDALL and great-granddaughter Gracie TEDFORD all of Clarksburg. Fondly remembered by brothers Norman and Jutta BRAY of Lindsay and Kenneth and Lorna BRAY of Nottawa and by sisters Marion and Earl McGHEE of London and Ruth and Roger GAST of Strathroy and sisters-in-law Verginia and Naomi and their families. Predeceased by brothers Stanley and Earl BRAY. A private family funeral service, officiated by Reverend Roger GAST, Reverend Glen GIBSON and Pastor Bob LAY will be conducted at the Blue Mountains Community Church in Thornbury. Interment at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery. Friends and neighbours are invited to a time of fellowship and sharing memories of Hilda at the family farm (10th Line of Collingwood Twp.) on Tuesday June 5th from 2-4 p.m. As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Gideon Bible Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, The Valley Chapel, Thornbury (P.O. Born November 5, 1919 on her much loved Sprucehill Farm in Ayr, Ontario. Died peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2007 at Fudger House. Beloved wife of Doctor George WEBER. Loving mother of Mark (Barbara LAY,) Krista (Rene ALCANTARA.) Dear grandma of Kirstie. Also survived by her brother James MURRAY, Ayr, Ontario. Kathleen was an internationally well known Canadian Artist, Top graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, a member of the Ontario Society of Artists, on the original board of Visual Arts of Ontario, Canadian Society of Graphic Art, Society of Painters-Etchers and Engravers, the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and a Chartered Woman Member of the Arts and Letters Club. Friends may visit at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St. (south of Wellesley) on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Rosedale United Church, 159 Roxborough Dr. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment August 10, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Glen Morris Cemetery.

THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Harold William Arthur (1907-2007)
Harold William Arthur THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON - Born February 6, 1907 in London, England, Harold THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON passed away peacefully on September 12, 2007 at his retirement residence, Riverpark Place in Ottawa, having reached the age of 100. He was the only son of Harold Ernest THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Alice Maud PRATT both of England. He moved to London, Ontario in 1921 with his family and then to Saint John, New Brunswick before settling in Ottawa. He is predeceased by his wife of 68 years Hannah May LAYLAND and his daughter Gail BUTLER, as well as his sisters Elsie HAMILTON and Alice GALBRAITH. Harold was a long-time employee of the Bank of Canada, retiring as Chief of the Public Debt Department in 1972. He was an avid violinist, who loved classical music, art and nature. He played violin in the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and also served on its board of directors as treasurer for many years. But his special passion was discussing politics, especially with his grand_son, Michael of Ottawa, who, along with his wife Sarah FOY, dedicated their time to seeing to Harold's needs in his later years. Harold leaves behind his sister Ethel BOSENCE of Saint John, New Brunswick son-in-law David BUTLER and wife Sandra of Guelph, Ontario; granddaughter, Marjory McDONALD, her husband Ian and their children, Carolyn, Erin and Brendan of Toronto; granddaughter, Ava BUTLER, and her husband, Al NEGRAZIS, and their children, Ashley, Lauren and David of Goodwood, Ontario; grand_son, Michael, his wife Sarah, and their daughters, Charlotte and Rebecca of Ottawa; and grand_son, Steven BUTLER and his wife, Tracey of Toronto; as well as various nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Doctor SALSETO, Harold's long time family physician as well as to all the caring staff at Riverpark Place. Harold leaves a legacy of love and an enthusiasm for life. His guiding light and words of wisdom will be deeply missed by his surviving family members and Friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Interment to follow on Monday, Sept, 17 at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa.
