was an internationally well known Canadian Artist, Top graduate
of the Ontario College of Art and Design, a member of the Ontario
Society of Artists, on the original board of Visual Arts of Ontario,
Canadian Society of Graphic Art, Society of Painters-Etchers
and Engravers, the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and a Chartered
Woman Member of the Arts and Letters Club. Friends may visit
at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home and Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St.
(south of Wellesley) on Monday, August 6, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Rosedale United Church, 159 Roxborough
Dr. on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment August 10,
2007 at 3 p.m. at Glen Morris Cemetery.

England, Harold
THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON passed away peacefully on September 12,
2007 at his retirement residence, Riverpark Place in Ottawa,
having reached the age of 100. He was the only
son of Harold
Ernest THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Alice Maud
PRATT both of England. He moved
to London, Ontario in 1921 with his family and then to Saint
John, New Brunswick before settling in Ottawa. He is predeceased
by his wife of 68 years Hannah May
LAYLAND and his daughter Gail
BUTLER, as well as his sisters Elsie
HAMILTON and Alice
GALBRAITH.
Harold was a long-time employee of the Bank of Canada, retiring
as Chief of the Public Debt Department in 1972. He was an avid
violinist, who loved classical music, art and nature. He played
violin in the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra and also served on its
board of directors as treasurer for many years. But his special
passion was discussing politics, especially with his grand_son,
Michael of Ottawa, who, along with his wife

their time to seeing to Harold's needs in his later years. Harold
leaves behind his sister Ethel

David of Goodwood, Ontario; grand_son, Michael, his wife Sarah,

nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks
to Doctor SALSETO,
Harold's long time family physician as well as
to all the caring staff at Riverpark Place. Harold leaves a legacy
of love and an enthusiasm for life. His guiding light and words
of wisdom will be deeply missed by his surviving family members
and Friends. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel
of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Sunday,
September 16 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Interment to follow on Monday,
Sept, 17 at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd.,
