Waabaankwad of South Bay (Wikwemikong) passed away at the Plummer Hospital in Sault Sainte Marie in his 75th year.
Loving son of Margaret and John (Paul) WAHSQUONAIKEZHIK, both predeceased. Dear stepson of Daniel and Julia WEMIGWANS. Loving father of Viola (late Frederick) RECOLLET of Sault Sainte Marie and Robert MADAHBEE of Ottawa. Beloved grandfather to Holly (Albert,) Tracey (Jamie), Crystal and Rheal. Great grandfather to Chelsey, Eva-Marie, Hayden and Wassnodeh. Dear brother to Theresa HASWOOD (Tully) of Rock Springs, New Mexico, Christina SINOBERT (Cecil) of Sagamok, Bernadette RECOLLET (Stanley, predeceased) of Wikwemikong, Josette WAHSQUONAIKEZHIK (Brad) of Sudbury, Jean DEBASSIGE of Sudbury, Ernest (Annette) of Keshena, Wisconsin, Gabriel of Birch Island, Francis (Beverly) of Sault Sainte Marie, Luke (Tara) of Fort Alexander, Manitoba, Christopher of Sudbury, Thaddius LAVALLEE of Wikwemikong, Tina McCURLEY (Ken) of Birch Island. Predeceased by siblings Rita, Annette, Bertha, Celina, Patricia, Ida, Joseph Louie and Adam. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, adopted and step-family members, extended family throughout the pow wow circle, Friends. Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball, step dancing, joking and story telling. Archie attended numerous pow wows, carrying the Veterans Staff. Archie served in WW2 and the Korean War. Rested at South Bay Community Centre from 7 pm, Thursday, December 21, 2006 until the Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11 am. Burial in Veterans Cemetery.

Of Saint Thomas, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 11, 2007, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of 55 years to Edie (LAVALLEE) COATES. Dearly loved father of Sandy GRAHAM and her husband Jerry of Comox, British Columbia, Sue COATES and her husband Ken WARNER of Huntsville, and Larry COATES and his wife Lynn of Union. Cherished Granddad of Pete, Jenni, Allison, Shannon, Alex, and Michael. Dear brother of Norman COATES and loved uncle of Allan COATES. Dear brother-in-law of Val and Freem CLOWERY, Paul ALLARD, and Bill and Bev BARNETT. Born in Ascot Corner, Québec, February 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Arthur and Muriel (LIPSEY) COATES. Jerry was a (retired) 42 year employee of Bell Canada. He was a longtime member of the Saint Thomas Curling Club, an avid outdoorsman, golfer and rose gardener. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and private interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park. A public memorial service will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Tuesday, January 16th at 11: 00 a.m. Friends and relatives will be received by the family on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10: 00 a.m. until the time of service. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association will be appreciated.

Of Saugeen First Nation, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 24th, 2007 at the age of 53 years. Frederick was the much-loved father of Samantha KEYSIS (partner Kevin CORBIERE,) of Hamilton; Stacy KEYSIS, of Toronto; Sean KEYSIS and his wife Tara, of Hoggansburg, New York; and Jennifer KEYSIS (partner Eli TOULOUSE,) of Sagamok, Ontario. Special grandpa of Brandon, Xavier, Logan, Kiana, Reign, Diondre, Jayla, Martin and Bailey. Caring brother of Larry, Gene, and Rita, all of Saugeen First Nation. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, and many Friends. Passed away on Thursday September 6, 2007 at Saint_Joseph's Health Centre, Toronto in his 85th year. Loved son of the late Demana LAVDAKI and Tony PHILLIPS, native of Andarticon, Greece. Predeceased by his cherished wife and best friend Catherine Emma CRATCHLEY. George will also be remembered by daughters Pauline and Christine, granddaughters Tia and Aurora, great-granddaughter Madison, brothers Paul and Dan and extended family in Greece. During World War 2 George served with the Royal Navy aboard the King George V. As a result of his wartime Naval experience he developed a lifelong interest in sailing. He was a life member of Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club and the Toronto Board of Education War Veterans' Association. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Private family service to be held. In her 72nd year, Mary Susan Lavergne (née MARVELL,) the beloved wife of the late Ronald J. LAVERGNE. Loving and cherished mother of Stephen LAVERGNE and his fiancee Kathy, Sharyn RUSSELL, Brian LAVERGNE and his wife Lorna, Ann Marie and her husband John McARTHUR and Susan LAVERGNE. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Kasey, Paige, Connor, Andrew, Katelynn, Joshua, Graydon and Zabree. Dear sister of Gordon MARVELL and his wife Joyce, Peggy (Mrs. James CORCORAN), Janet and her husband Mac MacDONALD, Marjorie and her husband Wayne STURGEON, and Ken MARVELL and his wife Christine. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Mary demonstrated her strength and spirit throughout her lengthy illness and passing. Joan was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Predeceased by her husband Howard William COURT July 25, 1996. Loving mother of Ken COURT and wife Judy, Marie WENDLER and husband Mark, Gerry COURT and friend Bonnie GROVER, Laurie DROST and husband Dennis, John COURT and wife Heather. Dear grandma of Jeff COURT, Steve COURT and friend Stacey PARTRIDGE, Tyler COURT, Jeremy DROST, Eli, Zita and Zoe WENDLER, Melissa and Briann LAVERY. Predeceased by step-daughter Karen TRELFORD. Grandfather to Michelle Presley, Andrew, Shelly, step-grandpa to Arron, Haley, Cari and Kendra and 12 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to all the staff on the 2nd floor B21 Intensive Care Unit at University Hospital. She graduated from Georgetown Visitation in Washington, D.C., and Saint Michael's College, University of Toronto. She worked as a magazine editor in Toronto for 35 years. Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, June 9th, 2007 at Markham Stouffville Hospital in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her parents George and Gertrude HENDREN, her beloved husband Doctor Percival Musgrave YOUNG, her sister Ivah BRAND and her brothers Don and Ralph HENDREN. Devoted mother of Ian (Shirley) of Toronto, Roger (Kate KENNEDY) of Sudbury, and Heather (Pat PARKER) of Espanola and New Liskeard. Loving grandmother of Katherine (Ashley ADAMSON,) Karen (Todd JASIE,) Genevieve (Geoff NEWTON,) Brian (Karen,) Bradley (Jennifer LAVINIA,) and David (Michelle.) Proud great-grandmother of Emma, Megan, Tyler, Cassidy, Samuel and Eva. Mary was born on May 16, 1916 in Lakefield, Ontario. She graduated as a registered nurse from Kingston General Hospital in 1937 and married her beloved Percy in 1940. She moved to Sturgeon Falls, Ontario where Percy practiced as a general practitioner physician until 1977, when they retired to Toronto. Mary spent her life helping others and was involved in many community activities. Mary's greatest undertaking was raising her three children. She supported them in every way and always kept communications open. In more recent years she was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary had boundless energy and a great sense of humour that rubbed off positively on everyone around her. She loved nature and was the driving force in the family to purchase a boat, then land and a cottage on Lake Nipissing where the family still spends many of its happiest moments. This has kindled a deep love and appreciation of the out of doors in her children and grandchildren. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She touched so many lives. She will always be in our hearts with great affection. A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 21st.
