Caring father to Marg (Dave LAKE,) Jan (Jose COUTO,) John MacKIE (Janet LONDON.) Beloved grandad of David (Jennifer), Christy (Nicola), Jenny, Sara and Katie. Devoted servant of God since 1942 serving in the mission fields of Alberta and in the Diocese of Toronto. At Saint_Joseph's at Fleming, Peterborough, Ontario on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, Josephine ANDERSON, formerly of Scarborough. Wife of the late George Alfred FARMER. Born June 19, 1907 in Belmont Township to John ANDERSON and Elizabeth WHITNEY. Predeceased by siblings Grace (Allan DAFOE, Ole OLSON), Mary (Frank McKAY), Laura (William PATTERSON,) Isaac (Josephine HOFFMAN,) Irene (Archie Bell CAMPBELL,) Randall (Thelma ASHBY,) and Jane and Clifford who both died young. Dear aunt of Jean (DAFOE) LAKE, U.E., Conrad DAFOE and Lois (McKAY) NOYES, all of Peterborough, Clare McKAY of Belmont Lake, Beverley (ANDERSON) ARNOLD of Newmarket, John CAMPBELL of Aurora, Scott ANDERSON and Joyce (ANDERSON) POST, both of Norwood, Ian ANDERSON of Manitoulin Island and Josephine PERCIVAL of England. Predeceased by nephews Warden (Doc) DAFOE and Clifford (Bud) ANDERSON. Also survived by 32 great-nieces and nephews, 13 great-great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Josephine was an elementary school teacher, teaching in Peterborough, Northumberland and North York counties, for 30 years.
After retirement in December 1971, she and her husband spent 26 winters at their home in Bradenton, Florida. There they enjoyed entertaining their snowbird relatives and Friends.
Josephine moved from Scarborough to Peterborough in October 2004. Resting at the Brett Funeral Chapel, Havelock, Ontario (705) 778-2231 with visiting on Sunday December 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Monday, December 3rd at 2: 30 p.m., Reverend Gloria MASTER and Reverend Kate McLARTY officiating. Mary Isabelle Margaret; dearly loved wife of Gerald, faded away peacefully surrounded by her family, at Saint_Joseph's Health Centre, on Wednesday night, December 26, 2007. Daughter of the late Victor and Luella HUNTER. Dear sister of Etta (Kenneth CURREY,) Daniel HUNTER (Pearl,) the late Ralston HUNTER (Björg,) the late Marilyn (Donald BELFRY) and Marlene (Ib AMONSEN.) Fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Long-time resident of Toronto, born in Simcoe County, Ontario, part-time resident of Muskoka. Will be missed by her many P.E.O. sisters and neighbours. Dedicated worker at Eglinton United most recently a member of Kingsway Lambton United Church. Beloved mother of Isobel (Bill) GUY, Glen (Betty Lou) and Scott (Penny) all of Wiarton, Clinton (Joan) of Cambridge, Gordon (Barbara) of Owen Sound and Carol (Paul) HODGINS of Penetanguishene. She will be sadly missed by daughter-in-law Lou BROUGH of Oakville, sisters Lottie WEST of Lion's Head, Tena (Edgar) CAUDLE of Burlington, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Robert, sons Keith and Bruce, parents Francis (NIXON) and Alfred ROUSE, brothers Edward, Ernest, David and Gordon ROUSE and sister Eliza Hayes. Of Wiarton passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 10, 2007 in her 81st year. Beloved mother of Margo CLINKER (Doug) of Bracebridge and David CLINKER (Susan) of Montreal. Cherished grandmother of Susannah CLINKER of Montreal and Jason (Ginger) FARQUHAR of Bracebridge, great-grandmother of Jory, Kenni and Shine, step-grandmother of Carrie (Mike) McCOY and Amanda and Devon SPECHT and step-great-grandmother of Dez. Marie was predeceased by her parents Suzannah (POORE) and William FINCH, brothers Jake and Henry, sister Mary and grand_son Ken. Having served her country as a Women's Royal Naval Service during World War 2 and as an armed forces wife of a peacekeeper, Marie was vehemently proud of being Canadian. She loved the Bruce Peninsula, the water, her family, her Friends and learning. She will be missed. Of Wiarton, peacefully with her loving family at her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Tuesday December 18th, 2007. The former Audrey WARD in her 83rd year. Loving mother of Ralph and his wife Laverne, of Owen Sound; and Anne and her husband Ron DAYKIN, of Aylmer. Cherished grandmother of Tavia, Danica, and Mason. Sadly missed by a sister-in-law; aunt; cousins nieces; nephews; and many Friends. Predeceased by her husband Charles; parents Jim and Cassie WARD, sisters Viola and Gladys and brother Ralph. Audrey was an amazing baker and cook. During World War 2 she worked for Fleet Aircraft in Fort Erie, doing her part for the war effort. Audrey was a longstanding member of the Colpoy's Bay Women's Institute; Unity Rebekah Lodge #147 Wiarton for 50 years; Royal Canadian Legion Br. 208 Wiarton for 48 years; and worked as a Registered Practical Nurse for more than 17 years prior to retiring from Gateway Haven.
