Passed away peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 of Holland Centre formerly of Flesherton in his 61st year. Best friend and loving husband of 25 years to Velma. Devoted father of Jim (Ann McKAY) of Owen Sound, Allan (Heather) of Holland Centre and Calvin (Sandra) ROBINSON of Flesherton. Loving grandfather of Cassandra, Jim Jr., Alex, Spencer, Jake KOLBY, Logan and Emmalia. Dear brother of David (Heather) ABERDEEN of Flesherton, Erma (Jim) STEPHENSON of Dundalk, Bill (Janet) ABERDEEN of Flesherton, Shirley PEEBLES of Durham, and Donelda (Bryan) WELLWOOD of Flesherton. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Jessie ABERDEEN (née MARSHALL- HOLLEY,) step-father Ivy HOLLEY and brother-in-law Doug PEEBLES. The family received Friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home, Flesherton on Thursday, October 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service was held in the chapel on Friday, October 12, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions to the Cancer Society or Centre Grey Health Services Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.

KOLGA, Eduard Albert
At Rouge Valley Health System - Centenary Hospital, October 31, 2007, age 92. Passed away "happy" and at "peace" with life. Devoted Isa (father), Vanaisa (grandfather), and Vana Vanaisa (great-grandfather). Predeceased by his wife (Linda) and son (Saldo). Formerly of Ridala, Estonian, Ed lived a full life in celebration for his maker and was recently recognized in the production of his memoirs (Gulag 113). He had a variety of careers in Estonia, Sweden and Canada that included being an entrepreneur, ship builder, a master carpenter and a construction superintendent.
Eduard carried his love for life and people into his final home as an active resident of Ehatare Retirement Home in Scarborough. It is here that he served his fellow residents as president of the Residents' Council and a member of the social committee.
Ed leave behind his sons and their families: Aare and Tiiu KOLGA (Unionville,) Marcus and Monika, Lief and Laas KOLGA (Unionville,) Andres KOLGA (Vancouver;) Mati and Carol KOLGA (Windsor,) Erik KOLGA (Belleville) and Alek KOLGA (Windsor); Toni and Jude KOLGA, Rob and Sabrina, Issiah and Emily HALL (Rocky Mountain House,) Linda KOLGA (Collingwood) and his brother Osvald and family in Ridala, Estonia.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2007, vistation (10 a.m.), followed by an 11 a.m. service held at Saint Peter's Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church (817 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto). Interment will be at Westminster Cemetery. A lunch will follow at the Estonian House (958 Broadview Avenue, Toronto).
If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favourite charity of Ehatare Retirement Home, 40 Old Kingston Road, Scarborough M1E 3J5.
Special thanks to the administration and staff of Ehatare Retirement Home for making Edi's last years so special.

Peacefully at his home in Weston on Monday, September 24, 2007 in his 64th year after a prolonged and valiant battle with cancer. John, lifelong friend and common-law partner of Debra FRALEIGH, dear son of Ernst and the late Ilse KOLISH, loved brother of George and Sharon KOLISH and Evelyn KOLISH and Michel LEFORT. Beloved son-in-law of Jack and Teddie FRALEIGH and brother-in-law of Ron and Bev FRALEIGH, Warren and Sandy FRALEIGH and Michael and Anthony FRALICK. Proud and loving uncle to Isabelle KOLISH, Veronique LEFORT, Jim HUTTON, Dan and Kristy FRALEIGH, Andrea FRALEIGH, Lisa and Aaron KRULICKI, Jeremy and Angie FRALEIGH and Hannah and Joshua FRALICK. Great uncle of Jack and Sydney HUTTON, Taylor and Ryan KRULICKI and Devlin FRALEIGH. The family wishes to thank John's Friends, neighbours and caregivers for their support and compassion.

DUNN, Shirley
Passed away comfortably in her 90th year, with her family at her side. Loving wife of the late John DUNN. She will be greatly missed by daughter Joanne and son-in-law Mike KAPTEIN, daughter Susan DUNN and her partner Maggie KOLKENA, and granddaughters Laura and Heather.
Mrs. DUNN was compassionately cared for by many companions over the years: Nayid, Sheila, Bernita, Jean, Gladys, Laya and Ilda, as well as the staff at the Donway Place retirement residence. She very much appreciated her time with each of them.
Her family and Friends will remember Shirley for the passionate and determined way in which she took care of those close to her. A devoted volunteer at the North York General Hospital, she spent much of her life supporting and loving others.
Many thanks to the wonderful people at the Toronto East General Hospital, and especially to Chaplain Gail FOX. Their support and care was greatly appreciated.
The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East) for the funeral service on Saturday, December 8th at 11: 30 a.m. with a reception to follow in the Bayview Room. Peacefully at North Lambton Rest Home on December 26th, 2006 William Kenneth DAVIES, beloved husband of Margaret (NASH) DAVIES of Forest. Dear brother of Laverne GUZMAN of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and loving father of Heather (Joe) KOLODIEZIEJ of Grimsby. Fondly remembered by step-children Luanda HALL, Sarnia, and Vance Nugent of London, step-grandchildren Keith and Michelle TRAQUAIR of London and step great-granddaughter Madison TRAQUAIR, London. Aged 89 years. Mr DAVIES body has been accepted for medical research at Western University. Interment later Beechwood Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Ronn E. Dodge Funeral Home, McFarlane Chapel, 9 James St. S. at Watt, Forest on January 6 at 2: 00 p.m. with Father Murray WATSON. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated (cheques only received at Funeral Home.) Mr. DAVIES was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, an active member of the Woodstock Coralears, Lions Club and the Legion. A memorial tree will be planted in memory of "Bill" by the Dodge Family.

Of Tobermory passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2007 in his 79th year. Cherished father of Delbert (Joann) RANEY of Owen Sound, Marlene (John) GERVASI of Owen Sound, Wayne (Jill) RANEY of Tobermory and Marsha ROBBINS of Stokes Bay. He will be sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and was a special friend and companion of Eleanor MONK of Owen Sound. Rusty was predeceased by his wife Edith, his parents, brother Bill, sister Shirley and son-in-law Joe ROBBINS. Rusty was a long standing member of Masonic Cedar Lodge #396 and the Ramoca Shrine Club. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007 from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9: 00 p.m. at the Tobermory United Church. There will be a Masonic Service on Monday at 6: 45 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Rusty's life will be held from the Church on Tuesday, June 5th at 11: 00 a.m. with Rev. Cherished father of Al and his partner Rhonda KEESO and daughters Cailyn and Lauryn, of Collingwood Ken and his partner Jan CAMERON and daughter Lyric, and Rob, all of Wiarton. Dear brother of Ben (late Betty), and Susie (Stan ARROWSMITH,) both of Winnipeg; Agatha (Abe WOLFE,) of Tourond, Minnesota; and Mary (Don ANDERSON,) of Vancouver, British Columbia. Sadly missed by brothers-in-law Al WASTLE; Jake LOEPPKY; Pat SAYEAU (Shirley); Jim SAYEAU (Louise); and Steve “Tub” SAYEAU (Lorna); and his nieces, nephews and many Friends. Beloved wife and best friend of Sandy EL BAROUDI for forty-eight years. Dearest daughter of Michael and Isabel (BINNS) SULLIVAN. Also predeceased by her brothers Brian and Patrick SULLIVAN. Cherished mother of Mona MacKENZIE (Gordon,) Helen THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Christopher), Mark EL BAROUDI (Shelley WOLOSKI), Susanne CARSLEY (Louis,) and Laura EL BAROUDI. She was born in Long Island, New York and resided all of her married life in Canada, the last thirty-six years on Heath Street West in Toronto. She was generous with those who were in need wherever they might be in the world and she dedicated her life to the care of her family. As a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, she worked quietly and diligently to help bring the churches in her community closer together through events like the Good Friday Walk. As her children grew up, Gail developed a passion for the investment business and economics. She became a stockbroker, then a teacher (Investing for Women; Branksome Hall) and later took up writing for newspapers in Montreal and Toronto, latterly becoming a free-lance reporter for the Report on Business in the Globe and Mail. She was passionate about her garden, flowers and plants. She adored her pets, cats in early years (Johnny and Fluffy) and Labrador Retrievers in later years (Anna, Lucy and Holly). She loved walking with her dogs, and spending parts of her summers on Lake Huron (Grand Bend) and Lake Simcoe (Shanty Bay). She was delighted by the Opera Atelier and attending the theatre. She cherished entertaining family and getting together with old Friends. Gail was uncomplaining and encouraging to those around her as she faced a difficult and debilitating challenge over the last months. A private service was held for the immediate family after her death and a celebration of her life will take place in October (details of the arrangements for this event will appear in these columns in late September/ early October).
