on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 in her 83rd year. Even as her body
grew weaker, she maintained her sense of humour and quick wit.
Iris was born on June 24, 1925 in Waubaushene, Ontario, she was
the daughter of the late Herb and Annie Belle

She married Morrell
SCHWARTZ on November 30, 1946, who predeceased
her on April 18, 2007. Loving mother of Herb and Barb of Owen
Sound, Ron and Marg of Kitchener and Steve and Nadine of Owen
Sound. Cherished grandmother of Anne Marie, Teresa, Matthew,
Amanda and Ryan. She will be fondly remembered by her sister,

Richard COE
NINDE, dearly beloved, died June 14th, 2007, in residence at
Kendal at Oberlin surrounded by family and Friends.
Born March 17, 1917 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the third
son of Daniel and Margaret
COE
NINDE.
Richard graduated from Andover in 1935, Harvard in 1939, and
Harvard Business School in 1941. He served in the USA Navy as a second
Lieutenant during WW2. Subsequently he worked for many years at Marble
Cliff Quarries in Columbus, Ohio, serving first as Foreman and later as
President.
Richard married Nanciann
KAUFMAN
NINDE in 1943. They enjoyed
63 years together before her death September 16, 2006. Most of their married life
they lived in Columbus, Ohio. They built a cottage in the Bay of Islands, Ontario,
Canada in 1958 and it provided them with many years of pleasure and wood-splitting
opportunities. While in Columbus, Richard served on several boards including Rocky
Fork Hunt and Country Club, Children's Hospital, the YMCA, and United Way. Avid
philanthropists, he and Nancy were strong supporters of The Columbus Foundation and
established The Ninde Scholars in Oberlin Ohio, to support local students to receive
a college education. He is survived by his daughter, Susan

Kay was born in Edmonton. She was a teacher in Alberta, then
moved to Ontario with her family in the 1960's. An accomplished
artist, her greatest achievement was in spearheading the building
of the Burlington Art Centre in 1978. She is predeceased by her
parents, Doctor Stanley and Mrs. Carrie

SMITH and brother Reese, and by her beloved husband Keith. She
is survived by her son Evan and his family in Victoria, and nephews
in Edmonton and North Dakota. If wished, donations in her memory

on July 25, 2007, surrounded by his loved ones. Predeceased by

Herb leaves behind
his loving wife of 52 years, Harjinder (Helen), daughters Darcia,
Sherry, Verinda and son Jaspaul (Ricky), brother Didar (Ted),
sister Mahinder
KAUR, grand_son Jeevan and granddaughters Natasha,
Sienna and Jennece. Following the death of his father, Herb at
age 12 went to work to support his family. Starting with a dream,
one small truck hauling fuel and lumber, he created a successful
trucking company, building supply stores and lumber yards, going
on to found Doman Industries in 1955. After taking the company
public in 1964, Herb built his first sawmill in 1968 which led
to the establishment of a fully integrated forest products empire
of sawmills, pulp mills and logging operations. As founder, Chairman,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Doman Industries Limited,
for fifty years he provided over 5000 forestry related jobs for
British
Columbia families. Herb
DOMAN was a man of great courage,
honor and integrity; he was known for his heart felt generosity
and service to his community; a true pillar of the Cowichan Valley.
Herb lived by his own set of values: loyalty and devotion to
his family, the community and respect for his employees. They
were his strength and motivation. His determination, strong business
ethics and respect for his employees contributed to his success.
Herb will be greatly missed by his family and remembered as a
great man who was loved by all. The family would like to express
a special thank you to Doctors Toyota, Gloster, Roy, Spence and
Pewarchuk, all the nursing and support staff at the Cowichan
District Hospital's emergency ward and 2nd floor for the special
care and support given to Mr.
DOMAN. A very special thank you
to Herb's in home caregivers; Kate, Michelle, Laurie, Sheila
and Linda. A Celebration of Herb's life will be held in the New
Life Baptist Church, 1839 Tzouhalem Road, Duncan, British Columbia
on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 10: 30 a.m. Cremation at Cedar
Valley Memorial Gardens followed by a Service at Paldi Temple.
Friends are invited to the family home following the service
for a time of refreshment and reflection. In lieu of flowers
