At Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Thursday June 7, 2007. Sarah ROOTE of Saugeen First Nation in her 63rd year. Loving mother of Lisa ROOTE of Saugeen First Nation. Dear daughter of Hilda ROOTE and the Late Edward ROOTE. Dear sister of Beulah and her husband Rick JOHNSON, Hubert and his wife Vida, Herman and his wife Pat, Ken and his wife Susie, Wayne and his partner Pam and Bertha all of Saugeen First Nation. Also survived by her friend Oliver KAHGEE also of Saugeen. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by her grandchildren and by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, Tom, by her sister Muriel and by her nephew Willy. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home Southampton on Saturday June 9, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted from the James Mason Cultural Centre, Saugeen First Nation on Monday at 2 p.m. Interment French Bay Cemetery. At her home, surrounded by her family, in the Elders Facility of Saugeen First Nation, on Sunday July 1, 2007. Vera RITCHIE (née KAHGEE) of Saugeen First Nation in her 84th year. Dear mother of Chester and his wife Gloria and James and his wife Bernice, both of Saugeen First Nation. Also survived by her brother Hilmer (Charlie) KAHGEE and by her sister Tilly SALT. Sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Predeceased by her parents, Louie and Elizabeth (née WESLEY) KAHGEE, by her brothers, Elmer and Oliver, by her sister Margaret, by her daughter, Vera DATRI, by her son Dennis NASKEWA and by her grand_son Leslie RITCHIE. Visitation from the Eagleson Funeral Home, Southampton on Tuesday July 3, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be conducted in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Wednesday July 4, 2007. KAHN, Alfred J. " Fred"
It is with great sorrow, that we announce Fred's passing at home, on Saturday, July 7, 2007, in his eighty-second year, after a long and difficult battle with cancer, bravely fought. Cherished husband of Helen ROSS for more than fifty years. Dear brother of Tom KAHN (Carol.) Devoted father to his sons David (Faye) of Atlanta and Jonathan (Anne) of Toronto, and to his late beloved daughter Nancy. Proud and caring "Opa" of Rebecca, Michael, Andrew, Hannah, Daniel and Jason. Deeply mourned by Philip WITMAN and his wife Bonnie of Philadelphia, and their children, Jonathan and Anna KRIGEL. Fred was a loving and loyal father-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin and uncle, and a good and loyal friend to many. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of 4NW and 8NW of the Jewish General Hospital for their care and compassion during Fred's earlier periods of hospitalization, to Doctor Jacob Garzon, and to Doctor Charles Gomberg for his invaluable care, concern, guidance and Friendship over these many years. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Doreen Reid and Penny Ramassar, whose compassion, expertise and good humour allowed us to keep Fred comfortable at home, and to Doctor Robert Piché, nurse Christine Souci and the staff of the centre local de services communautaires Métro whose help was invaluable. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., Montreal on Tuesday, July 10 at 12: 00 p.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El Congregation Section, Mount Royal Cemetery, Mt. Royal Blvd. Shiva at 1460 Dr. Penfield Ave., Montreal until Friday, July 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. daily.
