JORDAN, Marie Susanna (née ELLIS)
Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Friday November 2, 2007. In her 77th year, Marie Susanna JORDAN (née ELLIS,) beloved wife of the late William Edgar JORDAN. Loving mother of Daniel. Dear sister of Doug ELLIS and his wife Dianne, Jack ELLIS and his late wife Dorothy, Dori and her husband Murray HENDERSON, Kay and her husband Bert NEILSON and Loretta (Mrs. Ben BENDLE.) Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Tim and a daughter Sheila. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home (519-376-2326) on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. Rev. David SHEARMAN officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

VOLPE, Rev. Rocco Carmelo, C.S.B.
Died peacefully in his sleep late Wednesday evening, July 25, 2007. Father Rocco was born July 20, 1930 in Toronto. He is one of four sons and five daughters of the late Giovanna and Joseph VOLPE. Rocco was baptized in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where the family has been long time faithful parishioners. He attended Saint Michael's College School and after graduating in 1948, he entered St. Basil's novitiate that year and made his profession of vows on August 15, 1949. Father VOLPE was ordained to the priesthood by James Cardinal McGuigan, June 29, 1957. Father Rocco celebrated his fiftieth anniversary of ordination to the priesthood, June 29 of this year along with seven of his fellow jubilarians, who were also joined by confreres, family and Friends. Father VOLPE earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Theology from the University of Saint Michael's College in the University of Toronto. He then was awarded a Masters degree from Middlebury College, Vermont, in Italian Studies and a Masters degree in Religious Education from the University of Saint Michael's College. Father VOLPE taught part time at Saint Michael's College School, while he was attending university. Most of his teaching career was spent at that school, except for the year 1958-59, when he as at Michael-Power High School. He studied in Florence, Italy, was Religious Superior at Saint Michael's College School and a resource person for the Separate School Board. Later he was chaplain at Loretto Abbey, and administered the David Bauer Quest program. In 1997 Father Rocco retired to the Basilian Residence in Houston, Texas and two years later he was asked to assist in the formation of young Basilians while living at the Basilian Scholasticate, Toronto. In 2001, he moved to Anglin House, Cardinal Flahiff Basilian Centre, Toronto, where health concerns limited his involvement in pastoral and education ministries. Father VOLPE is survived by three brothers, Norfi (Sandra,) John (Danielle,) Joseph (Maureen) and four sisters, Mary (Roy) LONGO, Grace (Umberto) SUPERINA, Anne (Robert) CORCORAN, and Margaret (William) JORDAN 19 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great great-nephew. He is predeceased by Celia (Frank) LONGO. There will be a Vigil Service on Sunday, July 29th at the Cardinal Flahiff Basilian Centre Chapel, 95 Saint_Joseph Street, Toronto, at 7: 30 p.m., with viewing from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil's Church, Monday, July 30th, 2007 at 10: 00 a.m. Burial will be in the Basilian Plot at Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Basilian Fathers Retirement Fund, 95 Saint_Joseph Street, Toronto, Ontario M5S 3C2.

BROWN, Gerald Andrew Ferguson " Drew"
Suddenly on November 13, 2007 Drew BROWN beloved son of Valerie BROWN and the late Gerald D. BROWN passed away. He was great lover of all sports and especially his beloved Leafs, Drew would often be found catching up on the latest scores. Incredibly fond of his family and Friends, Drew was the adored brother of Vicki JORDAN (Michael,) Deborah SOUCH (David) and Michael. He will be remembered as the treasured uncle of Lauren and Kaitlyn SOUCH, Alexander and Carly JORDAN and Daniel BROWN. The family will be forever grateful that they celebrated Andrew's birthday on Sunday, November 11th and that he had the opportunity to speak with many others before his sudden passing. A service will be held at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue W. (2 lights west of Yonge St.), on Friday, November 16, 1 p.m. Cremation and interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

JORDAN, Dorothy Ava
Passed away peacefully on December 6, 2007, at the age of 95, at St. Clair O'Connor Nursing Home. She was loved by her husband Syd (deceased), her son Rich, his wife Pat, grandchildren Chris, Diana, and Kim, nephew Bruce and great-grand_son Daniel. Interment will be held at Saint_John Norway Cemetery on Wednesday at 2 p.m. She was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed.

DINGMAN, Stanford H.
75, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, September 1, 2007, at his cottage on the shore of Lake Huron near Goderich. Born in Stratford on May 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles D. DINGMAN and the late Una SCHMIDT. He married Elizabeth Kordt JORGENSEN on December 30, 1959 at Knox Presbyterian Church in Stratford. He is survived by his wife, his son Thor DINGMAN and his wife Denyse LAGACE, grandchildren Tess, Jacob and Kari DINGMAN, brother Charles W. DINGMAN and his wife Margaret, Stratford, sister Susan BURNS, Toronto. Nieces and nephews Carolyn DINGMAN and Brian DINGMAN, Stratford, Robert DINGMAN, Kitchener, Kirsten BARR and Chris BARR, Toronto, John BARR, Havertown, Pennsylvania, Michael BARR, Marbella, Spain. Mr. DINGMAN was a Co-Publisher and Editor of The Beacon Herald until he retired in 1997. He was a member of the fourth generation of his family involved in newspaper publishing in Stratford. He was very interested in the history and cultural heritage of the area. He was a founding member of the Perth County Historical Foundation and was instrumental in the early steps to purchase and restore the Fryfogel Inn east of Shakespeare. While at the newspaper he wrote a popular and extensive series "Streets Names of Stratford". He received recognition from the Province of Ontario and the Ontario Heritage Trust for his extensive contribution to cultural heritage in 2006. We are grateful for the support of the community health care system which allowed Stan to be cared for at home. Memorial donations may be made through the W.G. Young funeral home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford to the Stratford General Hospital or the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Cremation has taken place.
