Passed away peacefully in Toronto Monday, November 19, 2007 at age 81. Beloved husband of the late Pat. Loving father of Tony, and Larry and his wife Janita. Dear Papou of Lewis and Henry. Died in Kingston, Ontario on July 4, 2007, Jane SERRES, born in 1925, Maria Sarah PATTERSON, daughter of Albert Douglas PATTERSON and Evelyn Jane PATTERSON of Gaspé, Quebec. She was married three times, to John SERRES; Anthony JANIK; and Arthur PATTERSON. She is survived by her daughter, Claudia SERRES (George BOURKE,) grand_son James MOTT, many nieces and nephews, her stepchildren Nancy VANTASSEL (Jack), John SERRES, Neil SERRES (Sylvia); Christine HUDDLESTON; Shirley McCRINDLE (Bob), Reg PATTERSON (Joan), and Wesley PATTERSON (Bobbie,) and by marriage, many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Our special thanks to Doctor Patey and Doctor Sanfilippo for caring for her and to Doctor Pym for making it possible for us to share these many extra years together. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her, in particular by her devoted companion, Jim McKEGNEY, and his family. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Died peacefully on December 9, 2007, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, aged 93, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosemary; his parents Harry and Irene SAMUEL, Toronto and his twin sisters, Alice SUGARMAN, Toronto, and Doris JANIS, Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his daughters Valerie Samuel HENDERSON, San Diego, California and Victoria SAMUEL, Brookline, Massachusetts and his sister, Cecily WILLINSKY and his brother Ted SAMUEL (Margot,) Toronto. He was the adored grandfather of Juan SANABRIA (Naomi), Brooklyn, New York; David SAMUEL. Amherst, Massachusetts, and Loren and Joel HENDERSON, San Diego, California. A memorial service was held in Santa Fe.

Of Sarnia, Ontario passed away December 29, 2006, at Bluewater Health Palliative Care with loving family by his side at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Adrienne TIMMERMANS for 54 years. Loving father of Myriam, David, Ingrid, Daniel and wife Terrie, Harold and wife Julie, and Mark and wife Gemmalyn. Proud grandpa of Nathan, Caleb, Brianne, Jacob, Victoria, Ethan, Natasha, and Sheldon. Dear brother-in-law of Benoit STEVENS (wife Marilyn.) Predeceased by his parents Josefus and Helena, brothers Maurice and Adolf, and sister Hilde TIMMERMANS. Willy touched many lives through his love for music. As an educator, band leader and choir conductor, he was an inspiration to many people. Willy's warmth, generosity, integrity and humour, and his devotion and love for his pets will be deeply missed. Eunice Marie GRAYSON passed away on October 15, 2007. She will be greatly missed by Kirk, her husband of fifty-one years. Her daughters, Sally and Vera, will also miss her greatly as will her six grandchildren, Lydia, Helen, Corin, Margot, Milena and Mariek and sister Vera JANISSE.
As the founding Executive Director of the Learning Enrichment Foundation, Eunice has had a profound impact on thousands of lives. Her deep love and respect for all was a cornerstone for Learning Enrichment Foundation as it grew over the years to become a strong family of over 265 employees, and a nationally recognized leader in Community Economic Development.

After a long illness, Stella joined hands in the afterlife with her late husband Richard on October 16, 2007 in Cambridge at the age of 77.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Lynne (Karl) MARCY, Carol (Glen) MILLER and Tim (Maria) and her grandchildren Catia, Andie, Colleen, Natasha and Melanie.
She is survived by her siblings, Verna ERB, Myrtle▼ PAYNE, Audrey WHITE/WHYTE, Earl JANKE, Arthur JANKE, Selma LOCKHART, Don JANKE and Howard JANKE.
She was predeceased by siblings Roy JANKE, Stanley▼ JANKE, Lester JANKE, Leila▼ ANDERSON, Ruby PENDERGAST as well as her parents Walter and Christine JANKE and her adoptive parents Christian and Minnie PRIEBE.
Christian and Minnie adopted Stella when she was six years old after the death of Christine.
Visitation was held October 18, 2007 at Cameron Funeral Home, Chesley from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at which time the service to celebrate Stella's life was held in the Chapel. She will be placed in her final resting place at Chesley Cemetery beside her beloved Richard who passed from this life in 1995.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of Roman on Thursday June 14, 2007, at the age of 67, following a two-year battle with prostate cancer. He died peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital, surrounded by people that loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Maria and two sons, Michael (Marysia) and Andrew. Lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Maria JANKOWSKI, brothers-in-law Ted and Richard (Beatrice,) nephews and Michael, Mark and niece Marie, cousins Olgierd DOWNAROWICZ (Kristyna) and aunt Wanda DOWNAROWICZ in Poland. Roman was born in Lithuania during the war and grew up in Poland with his mother after being separated from his father at an early age. They were reunited in Canada when he was 17 years old. Roman entered University and graduated with an Electrical Engineering Degree and later got his Masters in Business and Administration while raising a young family. His core accomplishment was family. Roman poured vast amounts of love and energy into his family during their most formative years, instilling in them his values of determination and success through hard work. He provided challenges for them through out their lives and made sure they had the skills to accomplish anything they set their minds to do, accomplishments that included academics, athletics, and family. He was proud of his family and who they had become. The one thing the family is sure of, and that keeps them moving forward is that they will see their father again. They know that he is with God and that he has been reacquainted with his parents. Jock, our beloved patriarch, died peacefully at home on November 28, 2007 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara and his sister Jill JANSEN of the United Kingdom. He is survived by his children: David (Nan EDMISON,) Jon (Marlene HAYES,) Todd (Susan HARRISON) and Deborah (Rob KURLUK;) his grandchildren: Sarah (David WARRINER,) John (Gillian BISHOP,) Michael, Julia, Sean, Claire, Will, Emma and Hayden; step grandchildren Justin and Andrea; and his sister Judith LYWOOD of Bath, United Kingdom. Jock was born in the Golders Green area of London on November 18, 1921. He graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Civil Engineering during World War 2, and immediately joined the Royal Air Force. In between flying Wellingtons, he was smitten with Barbara 'Bill' WHATLEY and married her on October 12, 1946. Jock and Bill set out to start a new life in Canada in 1948. He worked as an engineer with Alcan in Kingston and Montreal, and then moved to Stelco in Hamilton, where he worked in Sales Engineering until his retirement. Jock and Bill enjoyed retirement years both in Ontario and then in Victoria, British Columbia until her death in 1997. Jock then started a new chapter in his life, turning his energies to community service. He arranged for thousands of used tennis balls to be shipped to poor children abroad. While dealing with loss of eyesight, he became an innovator, champion and spokesperson for people with low vision. He lived life fully to the end, with the help of his dear friend Barbara Riggs and his family. We will all miss his zest for life, sense of adventure and endless curiosity. The times spent at the cottage on Lake of Bays, at the house on Sanibel Island and more recently at the cottage on Salt Spring Island will stand out in memory, as will images of Jock the master sailor and woodworker. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Jock's Life will be held for family and Friends on Saturday, December 29 at the First Memorial Chapel at 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at Jock's home. Beloved daughter of the late Leigh McCarthy GOSSAGE and Brookes Ferrar GOSSAGE, succumbed to the lingering and unforgiving lung disease Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease at Granite Place, Toronto on August 7, 2007 in her 82nd year. Snubby was tragically pre-deceased by her cherished only daughter, Nancy (Tiger) Alice EATON, on January 21, 1985. Snubby was a loving sister to David and Michael GOSSAGE and is fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Jane JANSON, Diana FLOCK, Paul GOSSAGE, Susan BELL, Valerie CROOK and Graeme GOSSAGE, as well as an extended family of admiring cousins. She is also survived by her beloved poodle 'Poppy' and by a number of extremely close Friends and caregivers, particularly Dr. Gerald COOK, whose love and unfailing support over the many years brought her immeasurable comfort and Snubby's many devoted caregivers, Maria Barcelos, Rhonda Castro, Myrna Loman, Evelyn Ogalesco, Magda Gombos, Melinda Gombos and Janice Auld. She was once a member of the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service and had varied interests, insights and opinions (always to be considered seriously). She was honest, frank and funny. Her bright spark and determination helped her survive the darkest of hours and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the many other special Friends, physicians, nurses and caregivers who devoted themselves to Snubby's care and well-being, especially as she became increasingly incapacitated. In accordance with her wishes, Snubby's ashes will be buried with Tiger in the family plot at Mount Pleasant cemetery and there will not be a public funeral. A reception for family and Friends will be held at The Badminton and Racquet Club, 25 St. Clair Ave. W. on Thursday, September 6 at 1: 00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Asthma and Airways Centre at the Toronto Western Hospital (Respiratory Division) (in honour of Doctor Kenneth Chapman), the IBD Fellowship Fund at The Sunnybrook Foundation (in honour of Doctor Fred Saibil) or Toronto Botanical Garden (in honour of Susan and Geoffrey Dyer). Dorothy was the beloved wife of Charles FISHER for 60 years. Mother to Faye FISHER and husband David GRAHLMAN, Sandra and Barry KEARNEY and Donna FISHER- POTTER and Tom POTTER. Proud Grandmother to eight grandchildren, Chris WEBBER (Amberley), Adam WEBBER, Kristina KEARNEY- RICHARDS (Mark), Colleen KEARNEY- JANSSENS (Jerry), Ryan EASTICK (Katherine), Kyle EASTICK (Jessica,) Graham and Garrett POTTER and great-granddaughter, Emma RICHARDS. Peacefully, at home in Kerwood, on Thursday, December 21, 2006, in his 89th year, August JANSSENS. Survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Josephine. August will be sadly missed by children Michel (Maria) JANSSENS, Paul JANSSENS, Raymond (Diane) JANSSENS and Rita (Rick) LUCAN. Survived by grandchildren Michelle (Serge,) Matthew, Michael, and Marcus; Lisa, Andrew, Miranda, and David Rick and Britney and great-granddaughter Olivia FERREIRA. Also survived by sister Rosalie. Also remembered by many extended family. August is predeceased by his first wife Johanna (1959), daughter Rita (1952), granddaughter Kristel (1987), four brothers, and one sister. Visitation was held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, on Tuesday, December 26, 2006, from 7-9 p.m. with a funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Father George Chimbinda officiating. Interment followed at Strathroy Cemetery. Donations to the Strathmere Lodge Auxiliary Fund or Saint_Josephs Neo Natal Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to August.

It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of our darling Mum and Nana at Castleview-Wychwood Towers on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at age 89. Predeceased by her beloved husband Sennen and eldest son Dan. She will be forever missed by her sons, daughter, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren: Rudy and Ann; Clary and Rilla; Alan and Pat; Marietta and A.J.; Judith; Karen and Melody; John, Maria and Grace; Marika, Rick, Micaela Maude, Arik and Caiden; Michelle, Adam, Stewart and Alyssa. Mum will be lovingly remembered by all her nieces, nephews, relatives and Friends in Canada, United Kingdom India, Australia and other parts of the world. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially Hazel FREDERICK who was her close companion and caregiver for many years. Maude was born in Kolar Gold fields, India. She loved to cook and showed her love for all of us through her cooking. She was a talented seamstress, and she loved to travel with her beloved partner of 62 years, making many Friends around the world. Most of all she was passionate, loving and caring about her family. Maude sacrificed to give her children the very best she could and did just that. Rest in peace darling Mum/Nana - you are forever in our hearts. Jane SHAW (GARRETT) was born in Sheffield, England. She immigrated to Canada with her family when she was seven and while growing up lived in both Toronto and in Canton, Ohio. She passed away on August 19, 2007 in Saanichton, British Columbia. She and Frank married, and as a couple, spent most of their amazing lives in Welland, Ontario, where Jane was active in the Rotary Club with Frank. Jane was also involved with The Women's Auxiliary at the Welland County General Hospital and at St. David's Anglican Church. Both loved to travel and they did widely. Jane and Frank moved to British Columbia in 1999 to live in their home on the ocean where Frank died in 2001. Jane leaves her; children, Brenda MARIN- LINK (Roland▼) of Sidney British Columbia, and Kevin SHAW (Suzanne▼) of Ottawa, Ontario; four grandchildren, Jeffrey MARIN (Christine▼) of Langley, British Columbia, Jennifer JANZEN (Robin▼) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jason and Byron SHAW of Ottawa; and four great-grandchildren, Sophie and Kate MARIN, and Natalie and Emmitt JANZEN. All▼ her offspring have a great sense of pride and love for their Mother, Grandmother and GiGi.
