SHEFTEL,
Allan
Peacefully, on September 11, 2007 with his wife Eve of 49 years
by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Loving father to David and Steve, daughters-in-law Laurie and
Diana. Grandfather to Benjamin, Jesse, Eric and Miranda, dear
brother of Evelyn, (David) and Fran. Brother-in-law of Ilse and
Warner JAFFE.
Predeceased by his father Benjamin Sr., survived
by his mother Bella, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Allan
SHEFTEL was a kind, gentle and thoughtful man. During his career
as a social worker, teacher, marriage and family therapist and
many volunteer activities, he helped countless people find their
own way through difficult problems, and showed by example how
to lead an honest and compassionate life. His Friends cherished
him, and he was the loving patriarch of his family. He treated
with respect anyone he met, from a taxi driver to a lawyer to
a salesperson, and was respected in return. His warm smile and
calm manner will be missed terribly by his family, Friends and
associates. Funeral to be held at Temple Sholom, Vancouver on
Monday September 17 at 1: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations
to Project H.A.N.D.S. would be appreciated. www.projecthands.org
