METZGER,
Thomas
Robert "
Bob"
After a courageous battle fought with dignity, Bob passed away
peacefully at home on August 8, 2007. He leaves his wife Marg
(HUGHES) and his beloved sons, Peter and Daniel. Predeceased
by his parents Alvin John and Beth
METZGER of Hanover. He is
survived by brothers, Allan (Karen) of Guelph and John of Hanover.
Bob will be missed by his many cousins and three special Aunts
- Margaret
KLINCK of Chilliwack, Alice (Claus)
ANDRESS of Nanaimo
and Claire
HOTSON of Kelowna. He was a favourite brother-in-law
to Ann and Greg
NAHERNE,
Mary and Bob
MOORE and Janet and Jim
MacKEY and a caring uncle to several nieces and nephews. Bob
inspired those around him during the last 19 months with his
determination, always maintaining his sense of humour and positive
attitude. Fishing at the pond in Hanover, the cottage at Baysville,
Saturday morning hockey games, collecting rare coins and working
with his colleagues and clients at Fahr and Hall Chartered Accountants
were all passions enjoyed by Bob. A service to celebrate Bob's
life will be held at 11: 00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14th at Rosedale
United Church, 159 Roxborough Drive, Toronto. Reception to follow
at the church. Bob believed every child should have the opportunity
to experience camp and thus, if desired, donations can be given
in his name, in lieu of flowers, to Camp Oochigeas, a camp for
children with cancer, 60 St. Clair Avenue East, Suite 201, Toronto,
Ontario, M4T 1N5 (416-961-2267).
