Peacefully, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, November 19th, 2007, Vera Aileen CANNING (née BROWN,) of Owen Sound, in her 75th year. Dearly beloved wife of Frank CANNING. Loving mother of Roy (Karen) CANNING, of Pickering, Allen CANNING, David (Dorothy) CANNING, both of Kitchener, Lorelie (Rick) DEAN, Frank (Robin) CANNING, both of Owen Sound, Louise (Stephen) HIRD, of East Linton and Jamie (Beverley) CANNING, of Oshawa. Loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Vera is survived by her sisters, Audrey PLANTE, Lila (Walter) GOODWIN, Jessie (John) McCURDY, Ada CARLTON, Adele (Theodore) BROWN- TSAOUSIDIS, and brothers, Clifford (Beulah) BROWN and Raymond (Catherine) BROWN. Predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Louise BROWN and her brother Wilfred BROWN. Friends may call at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen Sound, (519-376-7492) on Wednesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7: 00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service for Vera CANNING will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, November 22nd, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m., with Rev. Linda NIXON officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, as your expression of sympathy.

Peacefully at the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton on Saturday, December 8, 2007. In her 97th year, Amy Margaret LOW/LOWE/LOUGH (née HARNESS,) beloved wife of the late Alexander LOW/LOWE/LOUGH. Loving mother of Marilyn and her husband Murray SCHLITT and the late Arthur. Loving grandmother of Catherine SCHLITT, David SCHLITT, Andrew SCHLITT, Bruce SCHLITT and his wife Maisie, Margaret McAULAY and Michael STRIMAS. Great-grandmother of Nathan SCHLITT, Allison and Craig McAULAY. Fondly remembered by Dona and her husband Frank STRIMAS and their family. Dear sister of Irwin HARNESS and his wife Mary. Sister-in-law of Naomi (Mrs. Bruce LOW/LOWE/LOUGH.) Predeceased by her son Arthur LOW/LOWE/LOUGH, her sister Mary SNELL and her brothers Delbert, Arthur and Exeley. Peacefully at Central Place Retirement Community in Owen Sound on Friday December 21, 2007. In his 84th year, Goldwin O. PATTERSON, loving husband of Lois PATTERSON (née THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON.) Loving father of Sheila and her husband Martin WILLIAMS, Gerald PATTERSON and his wife Carm. Loved grandfather of Laura, Jill, Stephanie and Brendan. Dear brother of Dona (Mrs. John NORTON.) Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Gladys (Mrs. Harry LANE) and Janet (Mrs. Ernie RUSSELL) and his brothers James. Friends called at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Sunday December 23 from 4 to 5 p.m. A private family service was held. Rev. Cathy HIRD officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations either the Ontario Lung Association, or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation choice would be appreciated by the family.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our dear mother on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Southlake Regional Hospital, Newmarket. Ivy, in her 90th year, beloved wife of the late Norman (deceased 1991), cherished mother of Lynda Mary, Barbara Anne, the late Kathleen (deceased 1998), and Michael Francis; much loved mother-in-law of James DALGLEISH, David HOLMES and Brian MIKI; treasured Grandma of Andrew, Scott and Heather DALGLEISH, Gregory and Alissa MIKI. Devoted sister of the late Thomas HIRST, the late Rosemary RUSSELL, Guinevere LESTER and the late Geoffrey HIRSAINT_Dearly loved by her many nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by her cousins and their families in England. Ivy will be sadly missed by her special Friends at Harmony Hall and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 345. Our mother was a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, (South of Eglinton Avenue East) on Wednesday, January 3, from 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, January 4, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Ivy's life will take place in Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 3170 St. Clair Avenue East (at Victoria Park) at 10: 30 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2007.
