GOSS, Donald McRitchie, P.Eng. (1935-2007)
Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, July 1st, 2007. Beloved husband of Margaret. Devoted father of Roberta (Lee HETFIELD, and his daughter Ella,) Sandy (Judy DALE,) and grandfather of Riley and Kennedy whom he loved dearly and watched with great pride. Donald also leaves behind his brothers Robert "Bob" (Lorraine) of Calgary, and Edgar (Sally) of Halifax. Donald will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family. He received his certificate of engineering from Mt. Allison University and his bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of New Brunswick. He was a long time employee (40 years) of Dominion Bridge Company, and worked for 5 years at A.D.F. until his retirement in 2003. Donald was an avid sailor, astronomer, and enjoyed all things aeronautical and nautical. He was a devoted fan and supporter of his children's and grandchildren's sporting events, which brought him great joy. Donald has many loyal Friends who have been a constant source of support and encouragement. A Memorial Service will be held at Saint_John's United Church, 2 Nobert Rd., Scarborough (north of Hwy 401, east of Victoria Park Ave.) on Friday, August 10th, 2007. Service time to be announced at a later date. In memoriam donations to Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by his family.

SELMAN, Marjorie (formerly GEORGE, née McKENZIE)
Of Oliphant passed away peacefully with her husband by her side at Wiarton Hospital on Monday, May 28, 2007 in her 69th year. Beloved wife of H.R. (Dick) SELMAN and cherished mother of Patti (Todd) HEGY of St. Charles, Illinois and step-mother of Al (Val) GEORGE of London, Andy GEORGE (Joanne REID) of Oliphant, Kim (Scott) HETHERINGTON and Dawn SELMAN (Ken BISCH) of Waterloo and Leslie (Wilf) LENON of Stratford. She will be sadly missed by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grand_son, brothers Mac (Carolyn) McKENZIE and Donald (Dudley) McKENZIE of Oliphant, sister-in-law Anne McKENZIE of Oliphant and brother-in-law Red CAWKER of Fenelon Falls. Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband Len GEORGE, parents Annie (CONDY) and William McKENZIE, brother Murdoch McKENZIE and sister Cicely CAWKER. Marjorie was a registered nurse and worked for many years for Bruce County Children's Aid Society and later at Wiarton Hospital. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Marjorie's life at a later date. Interment Balsam Grove Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the George Funeral Home, Wiarton. Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Monday October 8, 2007. In his 98th year, W. Stuart VANSTONE, beloved husband of the late Gladys L. VANSTONE (née SEAMAN, 2001.) Cherished father of Patricia ROGERS, and Bill VANSTONE and his wife Gail. Loved grandfather of Mark HETHERINGTON (Sue), Susan MOLNAR (Alex), Scott HETHERINGTON (Kim), Lee Ann CAIAZZO (Carmine), Trisa THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Jason) and Jamie VANSTONE (Aimee) and fourteen great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Stuart was employed by the Department of Highways until his retirement in 1971. Friends may call at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Of Dresden and formerly of Wallaceburg and longtime resident of Sombra Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 7, 2007 in his 85th year. Fred is the beloved husband of Phillis May (née KERR.) Loving father of Elaine and Louis GATT of Wallaceburg, Doug and Carolyn of Bramalea, Harold and Chris of Saskatoon and Jane and the late Stan HETHERINGTON of Dresden. Dear grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Brother of Pearl ELLIOT/ELLIOTT, Florene GLASGOW, Edwin and Gordon GONYOU, Ella MICKEL, Norma MELOCHE and the late Kenneth, Calvin, Lloyd and Hazel. Friends may call at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday. At Brucelea Haven, Walkerton, on Sunday, June 17th, 2007 at the age of 92 years, the former Anne MUNRO, formerly of Chesley and Paisley. Wife of the late Kenzie FOSTER and the late Eric WILTON. Sister of Aurie SCHILDROTH of Walkerton. She is also survived by nine nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Janet HETTRICK, Florence FARROW, and by her brothers Hugh and Herb MUNRO. Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Paisley Chapel, 216 Queen St. South, Paisley from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20th, 2007. Funeral service to be conducted in the chapel on Wednesday at 11: 00 a.m. with the Rev. JENKINS, Peggy (HETTY)
Retired Owner/Operator of Camsport Trailer Sales and Sandaraska Trailer Park and past employee of Dunlop - Whitby.
After a life well lived and and a courageous battle with cancer, Peggy, beloved wife, mother, Nana, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care Centre on November 7, 2007 with her husband by her side. Loving and adored wife of David JENKINS for 48 years. Cherished mother of Lindsay (Marge) of Oshawa, Kim BROUGH (Doug) of Pontypool, Rhys ('Osk) of Peterborough and Glyn (Cindy) of Orono. Much loved, kissed and hugged Nana of Angela, Troy, Jenna, Amy, Iain, Nolan, Hannah, Tara and Kari and Great-grandmother to Taylor and Kaylee. Special Aunt to Gordon (Lauren) RICHARDS of Toronto. Sadly missed by many Friends and past customers, especially long time friend and support, June BUDGELL. Peggy will be remembered for her selflessness, gentleness and her caring, thoughtful nature. She was extremely dedicated to her family and Friends. She was well loved and will never be forgotten. As per Peggy's wishes a funeral service was not be held. As expressions of caring and sympathy Peggy requested donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Palliative Care Centre. Her family wish to thank and acknowledge the caring and compassionate nurses and staff from the Palliative unit, who provided exemplary care (respectful and supportive throughout her 2 month stay). The wonderful, cheerful staff made this difficult time for Peggy and her family easier to bear. Thank you also to the Community Care Access Centre front line staff who were there every day for her.

HETZMAN, Xavier Andre
Respectfully called "The Chef" passed away peacefully on November 7, 2007, at 84 years of age. Born in Oberhergheim, France, his parents moved their children Josef, Madeline and Xavier to Colemar, France. In Colemar he discovered two of his loves, cooking and his wife, Helene. Xavier was an influential man of his times. They moved from France to Quebec in 1950 and 3 years later he began his life long career with Westin Hotels. First at the Westin Georgia and retiring from the Westin Bayshore. Xavier was a member of the Chef's Academy of the U.S.A., Canadian Federation of Chefs, Academy of Master Chefs of France and Academy of Chefs du Cuisine of France. Xavier was instrumental in launching the first apprenticeship program in 1957 for the Province of British Columbia and as Executive Chef for Westin Hotels was a contributor and active participant in the Hotels' apprenticeship programs. Among his many, many awards, The Chef was honoured with the Chevalier de L'Orde National de Merit in Dec/79, the most prestigious award in the culinary circle. His proudest moments were cooking for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip of England and Prime Minister Trudeau. Xavier will be fondly remembered by many of his Friends and colleagues. His favourite hobbies were hunting and fishing and spending time with his beloved Helene. Xavier is survived by his sister, Madeline, niece, Doris, nephews Robert, François and Francis of France. In lieu of cards and flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice in Xavier's memory. Funeral Mass will be held 10: 00 a.m. Friday, November 23, at Guardian Angels Catholic Parish, 1161 Broughton Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. Carmelite Fathers celebrant.
