AMBROSE, Cherry (née BOOTH)
We mourn the loss of our dedicated nurse, eldest sister, loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, dear friend and beloved wife. With her singular genius for helping others in times of need, Cherry has helped untold Friends, family and strangers at times when no one else knew what to do or say. Her genius for helping others was matched by the seemingly endless wealth of quilts, sweaters, and tapestries she used to express her love of others with colours and textures that comforted. We will miss her dearly as we move into the cold Canadian winter, for the first time on our own. Cherry is deeply missed by her husband John, daughter Robin and her husband Eric, grand_sons Martin and Daniel, siblings Jim BOOTH, Margaret BOOTH, Ann HANHAM, Heather MAHON, and Terry NEUDORF and their families. The Guelph General Hospital palliative team of doctors and nurses of 7E rose to the occasion and gave Cherry the most professional and compassionate care. Family will receive Friends at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel, 206 Norfolk Street, Guelph (519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com), on Monday (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). A memorial service will occur at 2: 00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 in the chapel. WALKER, Elizabeth (née COATSWORTH)
Born December 20, 1910, Walkerville, Ontario, died October 29, 2007, Belmont House, Toronto. Deeply loved all of her life, first by her parents Joseph and Lucy (BRUNDAGE) COATSWORTH, her late sisters and brother, Josephine (Garnet) O'NEILL, Edith (Sim) STODGELL, Dorothy (Gordon) DEWAR and Watson (Marie) COATSWORTH, and by her adoring late husband Edward Maxwell WALKER. Elizabeth was down to earth, gracious, generous and caring, with innate wisdom and good taste, and an infectious sense of fun that attracted hosts of lifelong Friends wherever she and Max lived. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Ann HANNA (John, 1968,) grand_sons Jeffrey HANNA (Canmore, Alberta), and David (Susie) HANNA, Toronto, and great-grandchildren Will and Elizabeth HANNA, all of whom she loved unconditionally and beyond reason, her finest legacy. The dedicated staff at Belmont House 2W, with their infinite patience and understanding, are extraordinary human beings. Particularly attuned to her every nuance, her glorious willfulness and her inborn sense of humour were her special caregivers, Marilou BILLONES and Alma ABLONA. Elizabeth's family is forever grateful to each and every one at Belmont who cared so lovingly for her. A family service has been held. To honour Elizabeth, laugh with the people you love and tell them often how much they matter to you. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through

DOHERTY, J. Lawrence " Larry"
Peacefully at the age of 80 on Friday Dec.29th at home in Beaconsfield. Beloved husband for over 50 years of Keena. Proud father of Michael, Susan (Hal HANNAFORD), Donna (Ross FRASER), John (Dawn MORRISON), Bob (Colleen DALOS,) David (Jane ROGERSON.) Loving Granddad to Sean, Jordan, Kevin, Alisse, Reid, Jessica, Samantha, Andrew, Adam and Mark. Following his graduation from Loyola College in 1948, Larry had a long career with Marsh McLennan, retiring as Vice-President after 35 years. He was a long time member of the Royal Montreal Golf Club, and a Big Brother for many years. He also had a long association with Scouting. He loved camping and nature and I'm sure St. Peter had to widen the gate to get his beloved trailer through. He was a voracious reader and loved classical music but his greatest joy for many years has been the time spent with his grandchildren. He always said family is everything. Always stick together. We have and we will. A memorial was held in Montreal on January 3rd. The family would appreciate a donation to the Victorian Order of Nurses or a charity of your choice.
