At her home surrounded by her family, on Sunday July 15, 2007. Janet SAWYER (née HENDERSON) of Southampton at the age of 62. Wife of the late Kenneth W. SAWYER. Loving mother of Kent of Southampton, Deanna and her husband Mark PRENTICE of Barrie and Lisa and her husband Robb GEE of London. Proud Nana of Brianna. Dear sister of Joan and her husband Keith WEBB of Coldwater. Survived by her son Nicholas and his wife Kathleen DONNELLY, and their children Una, Wyllie and Finlay, daughter Micheline DEBERARDINE and her husband Roger, and their children James, Maggie and Robert, twin sister Margaret STRICKLAND, brother-in law Bruce UPPER, and her cousins Beverley ARMSTRONG and Jean Hills FLEMING/FLEMMING. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, Friends and employees. She loved her family, her gardens and travelling. Passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Cheltenham Long Term Care Facility in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys (GEE) GAGE for 67 years. Dear father of Richard (Gloria,) Stewart (Susan) and Bruce (Linda). Grandfather to Jennifer (Scott), Lesley (Jim), Cameron (Paula), Stephanie (Kam), Brodie (Karina), Shona (Mike), Haydn (Jackie), Brandon (Kelli), and Daphne. Great-grandfather to Noah, Avery, Kyla, Kaitlyn and Jesse. Predeceased by his brother Douglas. GEEN, Harry Alexander
Harry passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, November 21/07 at the age of 93 after a brief illness. Harry is survived by his wife Elaine (née GLOVER), Greg and Miki, Barry, David and Samantha and grandchildren Amanda, Christopher and Noah. He will also be greatly missed by dear sister-in-law Helen, Pamela, Peter, Laurie, Craig, Nathalie and Matthew, Paul and Bev, Adam and Brianna, Cindi and Gary, Eric and Ryan, Darryl and Pamela, David, Marlie and Erika, Linda, Barry and Amy, Yvonne, Kathy and Pat, Ethel and Jerry, Brian, Diane, Ida, Bill and Linda. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis. Harry graduated from the University of Manitoba Pharmacy program and was a Canadian Navy veteran who went on to be a long time, well respected business owner in the Canadian Healthcare Industry. His passion for life was reflected in his love of golf, travel, sense of humour and unfailing generosity to family and Friends. He has truly left his mark on all of us. The family will be holding a private memorial, with interment in Middleton, Nova Scotia. MOORE, William Vining (May 14, 1925-July 11, 2007)
William Vining MOORE (Bill) passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Wednesday July 11, 2007 at the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill. Bill will be dearly missed by his wife Maria his children Linda ARMSTRONG, Diane WHITE/WHYTE, Kevin BARRETT and Caroline GEENEN; his sons-in-law: Michael PURMORT (and his wife Pat,) Peter ARMSTRONG, Michael WHITE/WHYTE, Mark GEENEN; his daughter-in-law Kimberly BARRETT, as well as his 10 grandchildren: Jessica, Carly and Michelle PURMORT; Thomas, Amanda and Ryan ARMSTRONG; Stephen and Christopher WHITE/WHYTE; Lauren and Madeline GEENEN. He will also be missed by Jackie and Bill HOOD and their children Kaitlyn and Riley; as well as Barb MARTIN and Fred SCHWERING and their sons Carl, Robert and Fredrick. Bill is lovingly remembered by his sister Nancy MARINELLI (Luigi) and his nieces Lucia and Madeline. He was predeceased by his brother Peter (Phyllis) and his daughter Sharon PURMORT. Bill was born in Oshawa, the son of Albert Lauder and Jean (MacEWEN) MOORE. He served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943 to 1946. Upon leaving the service he enrolled in Queen's University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce in 1951. Bill soon took a sales position with International Business Machines Corporation Canada and was appointed President in 1969. After leaving International Business Machines Corporation in 1972, he pursued other business ventures in information technology. Larger than life, Bill was a charming, outgoing, funny, optimistic and encouraging man. Every cloud he saw had a silver lining and he was quick to support his Friends and family. Extremely intelligent and a brilliant card player, he attained the status of Life Master in contract bridge. He was an avid golfer and downhill skier and continued pursuing both sports long after most people hang up their gear. Bill kept his sense of humour, charm and gratitude throughout his illnesses. There will be a visitation on Saturday July 21st from 4: 00 p.m. until 7: 00 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine Street, Collingwood, Ontario. A church service will be held at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Clearview Township on Sunday July 22nd at 2: 00 p.m. and a reception will follow immediately at the Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club in Collingwood. In his final days, Bill received compassionate and loving care at the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Angela, Mary-Anne, Elizabeth, Tim, Matt, Jason, Jenny, Caleb, Rebecca, and Travis, and by his sister Sonna. She will be missed by her best friend and husband Bill KRANENBURG. Together they shared a great love for their children; Wesley and his wife Jessica of Scotland, Ontario, Nathaniel and his wife Laura of Port Elgin, Jeremy and his wife Katie of Southampton, Zachary of Paisley, and Emily of Paisley. Bill and Debra also received great joy from their three grandchildren; Josiah, Caleb, and Chloe-Anne. During the service, family remembrances were presented by her brother Don SCOTT. Barb JOHNSTON served as pianist and led the music portion of the service. Debbie was born June 16th, 1957 to Roy and Bertha SCOTT, and was raised on a farm in Paisley. She was educated locally, and graduated from the Accounting Program at Georgian College in Owen Sound. Very involved in her church, it was there that she met Bill KRANENBURG, eventually marrying in 1978. Debbie taught Sunday School for many years, and served faithfully as Church Treasurer for 25 years. Aside from farming, together, Bill and Debbie successfully partnered in business when they purchased the Beefway meat packing business in Kincardine in 1997. They then went on to acquire the First Base Restaurant on Port Elgin Beach in 2000, which they quickly established as a family favourite. She faithfully supported her children in all their activities, dreams and aspirations. Debbie enjoyed doing crafts, was an avid garage-saler, loved to shop and collect collectables. She was a wonderful cook who shared her meal creations with her many Friends and family. She will be remembered as a fun-loving, Christian woman with a wonderful sense of humour and a bubbly, contagious laugh. Her family will miss the compassionate, caring and generous nature with which she blessed them everyday. Her zeal for life inspired many people to love their lives to the fullest, to enjoy the small pleasures in life, and to trust God in all things. Interment was made at Paisley Cemetery. Acting as casket-bearers were Nelson HARVEY, Willard HORST, Ken TOMAN, Jim WALKER, Bryan WEBB and Ron WELLS.
