It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian GASEE on Friday, August 31, 2007 at North York General Hospital. Lillian GASEE beloved wife of the late Henry GASEE. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Bob BAKER of Collingwood, Larry BAKER of Wyoming, and Jerry GASEE and Joan CHIN- GASEE. Devoted sister and sister-in-law of Irene and the late Dan CHESLOW, Anne and the late Sid TOPP, Mildred and the late Irving PERSOFSKY, and the late Mary and Dave KALNITSKY. Most adored grandmother of Marla BAKER and Brian SILVERSTEIN, and Jonathan BAKER. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (3 lights west of Dufferin), for service on Monday, September 3, 2007 at 11: 30 a.m. Interment Adath Israel Synagogue section of Pardes Shalom Cemetery. At the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, January 4th, 2007. Gary Norman O'CONNOR of Dutton in his 70th year. Loved father of Michael and his wife Heather NORTON; Patrick NORTON Shannon GASPARATTO; Erin and her husband Paul KYLE and the late Kelly NORTON (1989.) Gary was a beloved brother and life long friend to Evelyn and her husband Douglas KEEP and dear brother of Charles, Wayne and his wife Sandra and Dan and his wife Carol. Predeceased by sisters Judy KOYL (1972) and Maxine SLATTERIE (2004) and by a brother Thomas O'CONNOR. Gary is also lovingly remembered by seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews will greatly miss "Uncle Groove". The family acknowledges Gary's dear friend Joe Casey for his kindness and faithful support. Gary was born in Saint Thomas on April 15th, 1937, the eldest son of Harold and Dorothy HARRIS) O'CONNOR. He was retired after many years with the M.T.O., he was a member of the Kettle Valley Pioneers and was a distinguished exhibitor of restored antique engines. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St. Saint Thomas until Monday morning and then to Holy Angels' Church where Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10: 00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Angels' Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 7: 00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Palliative Care Unit.

Peacefully at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Wednesday, June 27th, 2007. Marjorie Alma BARNARD (née LESLIE,) of R.R.#2, Owen Sound, in her 95th year. Dearly beloved wife of the late W.W. (Wib) BARNARD. Loving mother of the late Leslie BARNARD and the late Marjorie (Cookie) SHANTZ- SEELEY. Dear mother-in-law of Georgina BARNARD and her partner, Lloyd BUMSTEAD. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Todd BARNARD (Shari,) Bruce BARNARD, David ALLEN, Eva DE GASPERIS and Paul SHANTZ Jr. her great-grandchildren, Ashley McNEIL, Ryan ALLEN and Kyle BARNARD her great-great-grand_son, Michael SMITH; her special nieces and nephews; her step-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, James and Annie LESLIE: her brothers, Robert, Ed and Charles LESLIE; her sisters, Ella MORRISON and Eva HILTS. Suddenly on Wednesday November 7, 2007 at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket in his 72nd year. Bob, of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband of Joan for over 49 years. Loving father of Rhonda GASSON and her partner Michael McPHEE of Mississauga and Bob Jr. and his wife Karen of Bracebridge. Devoted Grandpa to Jeffrey, Samantha and Christopher. Bob was passionate about antique vehicles and dedicated himself to the work and camaraderie of the Wasaga Beach Cruisers. He will be sadly missed. Friends were received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home - Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West (E. of Zoo Park) (705-429-8766) Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel Saturday November 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. Reception followed. At Grey Bruce Health Services in Meaford on Friday, June 1, 2007. The former Hilda Isabell BRAY of Thornbury and formerly of Clarksburg, in her 87th year. Daughter of the late John Wesley BRAY and Ethel Annie LEMCKE of Lion's Head. Beloved wife of Franklin HEWGILL, of Thornbury. Loving mother of Carly HEWGILL of Thornbury, John HEWGILL and his wife Darlene of Clarksburg and Jayne RANDALL and her husband David of Clarksburg. Sadly missed by grandchildren Sarah TEDFORD and her husband Drew, Leah HEWGILL, Daniel HEWGILL and Elizabeth HEWGILL, Chelsey RANDALL and Rachel RANDALL and great-granddaughter Gracie TEDFORD all of Clarksburg. Fondly remembered by brothers Norman and Jutta BRAY of Lindsay and Kenneth and Lorna BRAY of Nottawa and by sisters Marion and Earl McGHEE of London and Ruth and Roger GAST of Strathroy and sisters-in-law Verginia and Naomi and their families. Much loved mother-in-law of Martin SOWDEN and the late Hans GASTEIGER. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Erik, Kerstin, Martin and Devin and his wife Kristi. She was born in Estonia and began her life in Canada in London, Ontario, in 1950 and then Toronto in 1981. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Ormie was born in Toronto, October 2, 1924. He died July 9, 2007 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Joan Browne CARTER of Norval, Ontario. Predeceased by his parents Reubin and Pearl CARTER who came to Norval in 1934 as the new owners of the Hollywood Tavern. Loving father of Janice and her husband Peter HUGHES of London, England, eldest son James CARTER, David and his wife Ellen, Kathleen and her husband George GASTLE, and his youngest daughter Connie KARLSSON all of Norval, Ontario. Dear brother to his only sibling June Carter WARWICK, and loving Uncle to Lynn, Laurie and Lesley WARWICK, Pam, Helen, Allison and Gordon BROWNE and all their children. Loving grandfather of Damian (Odette) KARLSSON, Helen (Martin) LONG and the late Orla beloved partner to grand_son Simon HUGHES, Holly THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, James (Jacky) CARTER, Michael CARTER, Bradford GASTLE and Amy CLEMENT, Derek GASTLE, Andrea GASTLE and Paul McCARTHY (Jenna) of Alberta. Loving great-grandfather to Selena, Jaidyn and Lily KARLSSON, and George, Henry and Eloise LONG of London, England and Taya of Alberta. Ormie was a special Step-Great-Grandfather to Brianna RICHARDSON. Ormie (Smiley) CARTER appropriately nicknamed by his buddies of 'The First Special Forces', (Devil's Brigade) World War 2, the first Canadian and American special service force. Ormie served in the Italian Campaign, was a Prisoner of War in Stalag 7 in Munich. Ormie volunteered near the end of the war with the Swiss Red Cross driving into Mauthausen and Dachau Concentration Camps bringing prisoners to safety, and for medical treatment. Ormie was recently awarded the American Combat Infantry Badge and the American Military Medal (Bronze Star) by the U.S. Army. Ormie will be sadly missed by his Friends and family. Friends will be received at the J.S.
